Well, with a 100% failure rate so far on their own predictions they gotta be right some time. And I think they are right about one thing... the GB will be dead before any such Armageddon scenario occurs.

OCT 2019 Watchtower - Survival dependant on loyalty to JW Leaders
by Listener inthere is so much wrong with the newly released october, 2019 but that's not unusual.
what stands out is there statement claiming that survival through armageddon depends on loyalty to those 'taking the lead'.
since they claim there will be a point during the gt that they (the gb) won't be physically around, jws must still be loyal to jw leaders.. whats interesting in this article is that they make it clear that they, the governing body are going to take part, from heaven, in the war of armageddon.

It's stuff like this that make me think the GB know it's all bullshit. They're dishing out damage control already, knowing that their own predictions are failing and the GB wont live to see the big A.

Boy crowned prom queen by schoolmates
by pale.emperor innow i think i may have seen everything.. "boy crowned prom queen by schoolmates".
i'm all for people being entitled to wear what they want and live as they please as long as they're not harming anyone but - a male prom queen?
maybe there wasn't much competition in his school?.

"Boy crowned prom queen by schoolmates". I'm all for people being entitled to wear what they want and live as they please as long as they're not harming anyone but - a male prom queen?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-48760970
A schoolboy who dressed in drag has been made prom queen at his school leavers' event.
Xavier Parkins, 15, from Chaddesden, Derby, wore a pink shoulderless dress and matching heels to the party at Pride Park stadium.
It was the first time the honour, which is decided by a pupil vote, had gone to a boy at the school.
His mother Sharnee said she was "proud of the example he is setting for people that may be struggling".
The Lees Brook Community School pupil took six hours to get ready for the event on Friday, doing his own make-up, nails and styling his wig.
"It usually takes me about three to four hours to get ready but a lot of things went wrong and it took longer than I hoped," Xavier said.
His custom-made outfit, designed with a local dressmaker, was inspired by a dress worn to the Oscars by model Winnie Harlow.
Xavier, who has been dressing in drag for about a year and a half and posts photographs on Instagram, said: "Before I went I was so close to not going in drag because I was scared of not living up to people's expectations.
"It is what I want to do and it is nice to know everyone supported me."
Ms Parkins, 45, said: "The students voted and that made it more special that it was their stamp of approval, and shows a real maturity for students.
"The main thing is he is well aware that not everyone agrees with his decision to express himself but regardless of that he takes comments on the chin and rises above that."
Xavier has been invited to feature in the parade at September's Derby Pride on the back of being crowned.
Toni Jacobs, a Derby Pride trustee, said: "Having a young drag queen in the parade would be great and hopefully inspire others to do what they want, with the knowledge that people will be supporting and accepting of you."

Printing copies of Crisis of Conscience and plastering his own website on the back of it and advertising them for sale when he wasn't the copyright owner or didn't have permission is one example.
Re- the re-printing Crises Of Conscience. Yeah I can see why some could be miffed by that. But let's be honest, how many of us actually bought the old edition of the book for over £100? I didn't. Mine was a PDF! Yes, an "illegal copy". Without it I wouldn't have been able to read it.
Before the new edition came out (which I did buy) no one knew if it was ever going to be republished. That would be Watchtowers wet dream.

I cant watch Kim and Mikey. I'm sure they're lovely people but he just shouts at the camera and neither of them get to the point.
When I click an interesting video and those two appear on screen I hit the "back" button.

Magic

it says "magic refers to practices associated with the occult, or the supernatural.
it can include curses and the casting or breaking of spells.

Does it cause joy and laughter or does it induce smiles? - Then it's not allowed.

How Can You Recognize True Worship?
by pale.emperor inhad to laugh when i read this in the good news from god publication on the website.. https://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/good-news-from-god/recognize-true-worshippers/.
basically, watchtower just rattling of a list of things they (claim) to do when trying to identify "true" worship.. the closing question though, "which religion bases all its teachings on god’s word, honors god’s name, and proclaims god’s kingdom as mankind’s only hope?
which group practices love and shuns war?

"magic refers to practices associated with the occult, or the supernatural. It can include curses and the casting or breaking of spells. It does not refer to tricks using quick hand movements, which some people perform merely for entertainment."
I wish that quote was printed when I was a kid. My dumb-ass mother destroyed all of my magic trick sets and books out of fear of the demons.
It was literally a childrens books on conjuring.

Do any of you born into the cult feel like your mental growth was stunted?
by rockemsockem inbeing born in to me was devastating.
when you are a child born in and raised with the they vs us and they are evil and worldly and going to die.
not allowed to form relationships with anyone not one of you.

Oh definitely.
At 34 I'm still figuring out "the world" and real people and real situations. Mentally I feel like I'm 18 or 19. I found I went through a low/depressed stage, then a rock and roll period for a good while after I left. Had a blast.
Now I'm somewhat calmer and less angry about my JW upbringing and try to focus on the present and future. Starting University in my early 30s at first felt silly but it's something I feel I should have done straight from school so I do it.
I've seen many cases of what I can only term as a delayed adolescence in the newly departed.
I'm guilty of this! /\
It's like I'm trying to catch up with everything I missed.

Speaking with Demons
by BereanThinker7 inhaving learned more actual christian beliefs since awaking from the org, looking back we had such strange and unhealthy obsession with demons compared to any other denomination that i know of.
i recently remembered this article from when i was a kid.

I remember reading this article on one of my many Watchtower Library binges when I was a young teen.
Looking back on it now, the writing is very amateurish and the guy is clearly just mentally ill.
