by Solzhenitsyn inwhat unique to jws phrases do you remember?
something fun for those of us taught to speak an entirely unique and pure language.
there have been posts in the past in this forum but perhaps some have new ones after having kept up with jehovah's chariot as the light gets brighter.

Another Doctrinal Flip-Flop As Of Oct 2019 - RE: Locusts In Joel 2
by pale.emperor init's seems that even the revised edition of the book revelation: it's grand climax a hand was wrong again.. in the 2019 agm david splane "clarified our understanding of the prophecy recorded in joel 2".
clarified?
you mean he done a 180 reversal.. from revelation: it's grand climax a hand page 143, para.

It's very easy to attach meaning to anything that happens. Hell, I could read Revelation and attach personal life events to each chapter "symbolically".

November 2019 Watchtower (Would love to hear the comments in the hall)
by pleaseresearch infrom the november 2019 watchtower study edition.. how many of you would like to know what the brothers and sisters would respond to this question.
also, if you went into a hall how would you like to respond to the question.. 8. how should we respond to lies?.
8 satan, “the father of the lie,” uses those under his control to spread lies about jehovah and about our brothers and sisters.

Since leaving and not reading their literature it strikes me as odd now how cult-y and mind controlling the writing style is. It tells the reader what to think by wording it as if they already think that way:
Because we have faith in Jehovah and we trust our brothers. In fact, we avoid all contact with apostates. We do not allow anyone or anything, including curiosity, to draw us into arguing with them.
Hive mind mentality at it's finest.

In the 2019 AGM David Splane "clarified our understanding of the prophecy recorded in Joel 2". Clarified? You mean he done a 180 reversal.
From Revelation: It's Grand Climax A Hand page 143, para. 5
Reasonably, we could expect Joel’s prophecy to have a final fulfillment in the time of the end. How true this has proved to be! At the Bible Students’ convention at Cedar Point, Ohio, U.S.A., September 1-8, 1919, a notable outpouring of Jehovah’s spirit activated his people to organize a global campaign of preaching. Of all professed Christians, they alone, recognizing that Jesus had been enthroned as heavenly King, spared no effort in publishing abroad that good news. Their relentless witnessing, in fulfillment of prophecy, became as a tormenting plague to apostate Christendom.
From Watchtower 15th April 2009:
The prophet Joel compared the activity of Jehovah’s servants to the actions of locusts. He wrote: “Like powerful men they run. Like men of war they go up a wall. And they go each one in his own ways, and they do not alter their paths. And one another they do not shove. As an able-bodied man in his course, they keep going; and should some fall even among the missiles, the others do not break off course.” How well this prophecy describes modern-day proclaimers of God’s Kingdom! No “wall” of opposition has been able to stop their preaching. Rather, they imitate Jesus, who persisted in doing God’s will even though he was despised by many. True, some Christians have ‘fallen among the missiles’ by being put to death as martyrs for their faith. Still, the preaching work has continued, and the number of Kingdom proclaimers keeps growing. In fact, persecution has often served to spread the good news to people who would not otherwise have heard the Kingdom message. In your personal ministry, have you demonstrated perseverance like that of the locust—even in the face of indifference and opposition?
The prophet Joel compared the activity of Jehovah’s servants to the actions of locusts? Joel did this? Not the GB?!!
Now? It appears the the GB now agree with what actual theologians and bible scholars have been saying for centuries - namely, that the locusts are enemies of God’s people.

I finally did it
by paradiseseeker init's done.. during the last month i've been talking with my closest friends about leaving the org and yesterday i finally talked with my parents.. it's been almost 5 months after i said that i would do it, but i think that this extra time has been beneficial.
i've said several times that i would opt for sending a resignation letter, but after talking to my best friends some of them suggested me becoming inactive and blocking my congregation's elders.
i've changed my mind and i will do that because the people that i care the most now know what's going on so they won't be worrying about me not attending the meetings.

Congratulations Paradiseseeker. Ive been out 3 years and each year has been better than the last.
As The Bethelite says, “today is the first day of the rest of your life”! It was said to me when I left and it’s very true.
Im made up for you. Well done and congratulations.

why do jws hate pagans?
by nowawake14 inpaganism from my view is just a mental fantasy.
it's not real.
so why do jws get mad at it anyway?
-
pale.emperor
I think the JW definition of pagan is often blurred with unbeliever.
Aint that the truth. It wasnt until I was about 15 that I learned that "pagan" is an actual religion. My uncle (another exJW) actually is a pagan. It's rather insulting, I feel, to label every other non-JW Christian religion as pagan.
JWs use wedding rings and wedding cake which originate from pagan traditions.

Isnt is a shame? Poor Reg acknowledges his depression and uses "praying to Jehovah" as a method of trying to deal with it.
I do hope he's also seeking help from the medical community too.

How Long Did It Take To Finally Leave The Organization Once You Realized It Was Really Not The Truth?
by minimus init actually took me a few years to finally leave the organization so i was mentally out for a while before i simply stopped all meetings altogether.. how long did it take you to finally make the break?

The emotion I felt wasn't one of disappointment - it was one of relief! No more meetings, no more door to door work and i could finally say goodbye to that rather unpleasant person with whom I was sharing my life.
I remember that feeling. If I could feel that all over again I would. What a drug!
