Depends where you are, but around here they rarely get together and when they do you have to be a part of that clique to get invited. My 9 y/o stepson was crying the other night because he was scared of people dying and death in general after that awesome watchtower with the police barging in on the jdubs. And apparently there was a real tear jerker of a video played tuesday night during meeting about a woman dying of cancer. Kids don't need to be exposed to all this stuff at such a young age that they don't grasp the meaning yet. But thats how the gb keeps people in check. They are a crooked and terrible religion in general and do nothing for the community. Oh a natural disaster? Lets go read bible verses instead of donating food, water, or any other necessity.

all they ever do is preach, study the watchtower, or their meeting or convention.
no other organized functions that i know of.

she claims that if you go all over the jw.borg website you will no longer be able to find any mention of the organization or the fds being gods channel of communication.

Consequences for having a non religious wedding ceraminy?

my dad is an elder but i need to be cautious with questions i ask.
now that i’ve been woken up from my brainwashed love of this corrupt corporation and from my belief in the bible, and my fiancé is starting to wake up as well, i really don’t want to have the sexist, overused, impersonal talk outline used for my wedding ceremony by some elder who is trying to show off his talk giving skills.

Tattoos
by new boy ini don't really have an opinion on the them one way or another.. when i was growing up the only place you saw them were on old ex military guys.
they had eagles with american flags or a heart with a knife through it.
some were so old and faded out you didn't know what they were supposed represent anymore.

I have a few tattoos and i like them, they have meaning. I don't mind if someone has none or 100. At 70 years of age, tattoos or not, the body isn't going to be that great to look at anyways lol.

New brochure about donations.
by Ray Frankz inin this midweek meeting the local needs was a booooring speech about the new brochure on donations.
the wt must think the jws are dying to know how to give their money.. well, it's not new this is disgusting but this time, after i ve been slightly hinting people here and there for a year about the 'abnormal request of money' and remind them that 'the faithful slave wasn't like that until some time ago', this time i saw their faces.
they did get bothered with that talk.

yet it seems that the apostle paul said to shun an unrepentant sinner, "stop keeping company" and "not even eating with such a man" 1co 5:9-12. it seems like shunning is what paul wanted us to do.
but honestly, it doesn't seem right to me.

My opinion is that Paul was one of the first apostates, going against the idea of jesus being loving towards all. Just an idea, nothing to base that on :)
