Interesting how none of the publications on their online library go back further than the year 2000. Just like they have always done, they try to bury their past publications because they prove they are liars.

Revelation - it's grand climax is at hand
by Listener insome people point out the subliminal pictures in the wtbts publications but sometimes things are just so obvious, such as the title of the book above.. the person who came up with the title for this book must have had a good old laugh.. interestingly, this book first came out in 1988 and has not been included in the online library but nothing has replaced it.
the org is really going backwards when they ditch old light and cannot come up with anything new.
they are real wankers ;)..

Recent announcement on literature placements

they said to only leave literature if the householder engages you in conversation.
it used to be that they would try to get any literature into every hand of every person.

I find it interesting that the other night they announced that literature is not to be left indiscriminately. They said to only leave literature if the householder engages you in conversation. It used to be that they would try to get any literature into every hand of every person. Even leaving magazines in the doors when no one was home. They must really be trying to cut back on expenses if they are wanting to only leave literature with people who will have a conversation.
Also they are redoing the monthly publisher cards to include placements such as: videos shown at the door, videos emailed to others, anything published by the wtbs will be considered a placement (tracts).
So what i gathered was that they can print and place less material, but keep their supposed numbers of placement up by counting videos emailed, or watched, or downloaded from their website. Oh boy, i can see the placement numbers increasing now! Laughable really.

by Wonderment ini wonder how many of us here hold on to this meeting place out of "loneliness.
could it be that we harbor feelings of "abandonment" and "loneliness" from being left cold and dry by the wt people and our families?
perhaps we do have a need to reach out to people with similar experiences.

by flipper inso i'm sure a good number of us saw the chart that i believe the poster splash put on another thread of figures since 1990 regarding how many baptized and % of increase each year .
i started analyzing it ( and i know some referred to it briefly on the other thread ) and guessing of reasons the % of increase didn't match the number of newly baptized.
and of course common sense tells us that either jw's leave the cult each year through death, fading into inactivity, or getting dfed.

I remember at assemblies and conventions it used to be 15-20 baptized at assemblies and up to 60 at conventions. Now we have had 0-4 baptized at assemblies and I'm not sure at the conventions since i haven't been to one the past two years. -

It might be the best move for you. The new place you are going, people won't know you are a witness, and the place you are leaving, people may still think you are a witness and still talk to you when you come back to visit. Won't have to worry about any of the local jw's who know you catching you out with your boyfriend without a chaperone or going into an r rated movie. -

I'm sure Jesus would be buying big screens, multi million dollar mansions, promoting roku from stage, using credit card machines at assemblies, be broadcasting over the internet...etc. etc. The list could go on for days. And people really think its the true religion? -

Saddest thing about being DFd

when someone genuinely needed a hand or what not, it felt good to help family or friends.. i don't really miss them anymore.
i faded over two years ago, so they long ago shunned me.i think about them less and less and have even forgotten some names.i did enjoy some of the friendships and the association.

So the other night we had a resolution to purchase two 70 inch t.v.'s to hang on either side of the stage. And also a smaller t.v. for the second school room. The cost is $3600 for the t.v.'s and associated components, including the wireless streaming device (i assume roku since they did promote that at meeting a couple months ago). We already have a motorized projection screen that comes out of the ceiling and a projector that we invested a couple thousand dollars in only a few years ago. But the explanation for the new t.v.'s was that it would save time from having to move the podium out of the way of the projector screen and that everyone would be able to have a clear view (i'm pretty sure the 130 inch projector screen was enough for everyone to see).
Anyways it just bugs me that they 1. don't give each individual the right to decide if they wanna donate towards this wasteful project 2. we already had a huge projector screen that worked perfectly fine for their brainwashing videos from their website 3. wouldn't the money be better spent building kingdom halls in less fortunate countries? They build them little shacks while here we need 3 t.v.'s and a projector for some reason.
