  To those who attended, attendance up or down at your memorial?

  interesting to see if there's a noticeable trend in memorial attendance.

  Couldn't tell if ours was up or down, but pretty much all the inactive/kids of those who are in are the only new ones. No new blood that i noticed. Talk was by a bethelite and we didn't applaud afterwards.

  A funny little lie i gathered from his talk was that this was the 1,984th memeorial celebrated since Jesus instituted it. Ummm, i'm pretty sure witnesses haven't been around that long.

  omg i cannot believe that someone is making a hollywood-like movie based on the topic of blood transfusions and jehovah's witnesses!

  And hopefully it'll hit Netflix eventually, then witnesses can watch it in the privacy of their own home without worrying about someone seeing them go into the theater to watch it.

  ELDERS STEPPING DOWN

  between two congregations that i know of four elders have stepped down in the last two months!

  there is something really going on in this mandmade organization!

  I'm hoping we lose some soon. Out of the 5 elders, 3 are 60+, and the other two are pushing 60. One they rarely use because he is too old and his talks are terrible as well as his reading.

  That is sad, and only a few weeks ago at the meeting they were suggesting how to help depressed ones.....invite them to work in service with you, have them over for a meal, include them in family worship......umm how about getting some real help? That was never mentioned.

  This is just crazy "get her coin where it needs to go!"

  How could anyone think this is ok? Her coin does not "need" to go there, but the terminology they use is just crazy.

  I think it's great. If it helps a few leave the religion or helps a few decide not to join, then its a success in my book!

  Circuit visit elders meeting

  first some context to this post.

  historically the elders meeting with the circuit overseer has had the following format : outline for meeting including ministerial servants then, after they have been dismissed, discussion of local issues.

  the last visit there was an additional outline for the elders only, the notorious "gender blurring" discussion.. you might wonder what is being discussed this time round, so here you are:.

  I always wondered what was discussed at these meetings. The elders locally always seemed scared of the c.o. and dreaded when he visited. But that probably depends on the c.o. also.

  this evening at the clam the job video was played and then the stupid peer pressure video.

  this was not so odd.

  however on the last elijah section pictures from the imitate their faith book was place on screen to imagine the scenes.

  It wouldn't surprise me if they started that either. The peer pressure video was lame, now kids in school don't have to explain their beliefs (probably cause they can't) they just need to say NO to peer pressure.

  Even after a person is reinstated, some still choose to not associate with them or give them minumum love. Funny how everyone likes to talk about how forgiving they are until something personally happens to them, then its a whole other story.
