  Good news to report: Congregations merged because lack of attendance, publishers & field service

  so it's official, i am happy to report that we merged with another congregation having the same problem.

  why is it good news???

  because people are either waking up, fading or just not buying into this organization any longer or walking away.... i think many young ones are just not buying into it as much, i see many in the congregation i go to very depressed and some i know personally going thru major depression especially the young "sisters" in their early 20s.... .

  In the last ten years within a 60 mile radius 6 cong. merged into 3, while 3 of the k.h. were sold off. This is in the midwest

  Ours was on making use of phone witnessing and letter writing. Both ineffective and wastes of time. Another local cong. was about aux. pioneers during memorial season. A few years ago they had 45 aux. pioneers, last year 13. Always nice to hear about the numbers falling :)

  Some thoughts on the new midweek meeting

  the new midweek meeting has been running for a month now.

  here are my thoughts on how it is going so far:.

  1) elders are looking frazzled from being on virtually every meeting and having to prepare unfamiliar formats for items.

  Funny cause i actually had this discussion this morning. All individuality is gone now, the new songs are a clusterf*ck, the silhouette videos suck, all in all i'm pretty pleased with it :) Hopefully it'll speed up people waking up!

  Waiter upset after discovering $20 tip was actually a Bible pamphlet

  at first i was thinking, "jdub!

  " since i know some jdubs that do this kind of sh*t. no really.

  they do this.. (january 12, 2015) -- a waiter in kansas took to social media after discovering what looked like a generous $20 tip was not legal tender.. for 17-year-old garret wayman, the excitement quickly faded when he realized that, not only was the money fake, but it was actually a pre-printed religious message.. http://fox59.com/2016/01/12/waiter-upset-after-discovering-20-tip-was-actually-a-bible-pamphlet/.

  The wt has now changed Jesus definition of neighboor

  the man asked jesus who is my neighbor jesus stated the one who acts mercifully toward other humans.

  not good enough for watchtower neighbor must fit in three catagories only according to yesterdays wt wow changed the words of the son of god.

  I noticed that too, pretty sure Jesus wasn't talking about marriage mates when he was talking about neighbor. But leave it to the WT to set strict guidelines on something that was basically saying treat kindly and love everyone.

  i don't have mobile phone numbers or email addresses for my family because we left a long time ago.

  A fun way is for those that haven't unfriended you on FB,instagram etc. is to wait until they post something you can counsel them on from the WT, such as violent sports, video games, concerts, clothing, or whatever it may be. They'll unfriend you real fast that way :)

  Someone had posted about their favorite football team winning so i just quoted the watchtower about shunning competitive sports.......didn't take long to get unfriended after that lol.

  We had someone reinstated a few years ago and a few people began clapping, which in turn everyone begins clapping and the elder from stage just gave a look of disgust and shook his head. It was awesome.

  Types attracted to the sect known as jehovahs witnesses.

  l have observed the types of people attracted to the sect are many times unbalanced,unstable,emotionally insecure types.the jdubs seem to home in like vulchers circling the prey ,preying on the vulnerables.they tried it on me when my father who was an elder died.promising that if you become a dub you will one day see him again.l said how can you promise that when you keep making false misleading predictions.l was wondering if others have observed this phenomenon.

  Around here too they go to the nursing homes and count time and studies by studying with people who pretty much cant do anything or think for themselves anymore. They they bring them to the hall in their wheelchairs and oxygen tanks and get them to comment once in awhile. That usually doesn't last long though, i'm sure the family gets wind of it and stops that. Other new ones coming to the hall have been ones that are clearly mentally unstable. Its sad they prey on these people. They would never help them out otherwise if they weren't coming to the hall.

  Counsel from Bro Losch (GB Member) to the Elders about the NFL

  while attending a week long training class for elders in patterson, bro losch gave the concluding talk about loyalty to the borg, which i was in awe of(i went more in detail in a recent post about a s.a.d.

  I hate how they just never come out and say directly what they are talking about... egg shaped ball? pads and helmets? Hitting and hurting each other? Just f'ing say you are talking about football instead of sounding like a complete moron and describing it. The september watchtower of 2015 is the most recent occurence that i noticed of their distaste for sports..

  First of all, all sports are competitive or it wouldn't be called a sport, and they are wanting people to SHUN competitive sports which most of us here know how severe shunning is. Although most jw's find shunning humans much easier than shunning their favorite sports. Bunch of f'ing judgeMENTAL hypocrites is all they are.

  How do you feel about the expression "The Truth"?

  it's amazing how the expression "the truth" has become such an ingrained term used by witnesses.. "we have 'the truth'".

  "is he 'in the truth'?".

  most here have found out so many facts about the organisation, and felt the effects of being "gut-punched" as we realised these facts.. so how do you feel about the expression "the truth" now?.

  I still find myself saying it but try not to use any of the JW specific terms as much as i can. Such as the truth or worldly.
