I got a kick out of how they talked about first century "elders" and the "governing body" in the first centuy. No where does the bible talk about either of these men does it? They apply their new school words to the old school bible to manipulate peoples thinking.
Also someone made a comment about the opening picture and how some had beards and others did not, and how they were supposed to be accepting of that. Funny how no one accepts anyone with a beard today though.
getting the second tattoo soon, in a long line of many to come!

The argument that it won't look good on your body at 70 or 80 years old.......well, nothing will look that good on your body at that point :)
growing up as a jw, i was told that kiss stood for knights in satan's system (or service).. i just did a google search and learned it's not true.
it's actually not an acronym for anything.. to be honest, apparently it's not just the jws who believe it means something related to satan.. http://www.snopes.com/music/hidden/kiss.asp.

Haha i remember that too. Witnesses always gotta demonize everything. ac/dc i was told stood for all children/devils children.
some congregations were known as liberal and others were considered very conservative.
back in the 1970s a nearby congregation made all speakers who gave public talks a white shirt to wear.
if a speaker came in wearing anything but white they were brought into the library and were given a white shirt!
We were counseled for hanging out with another witness couple too often, even though everyone was in good standing and for going to a bar (they didn't call it a bar though, they referred to it as a place with a "long thing") Ha, such morons.
i was approached by two jehovah’s witness elders who handed me a pamphlet advertising the jw .org website.
each man carried a bible and an apple ipad.
they told me that they enjoyed visiting with people about the bible, and asked if i was a bible reader.
Awesome job. You are every witnesses worst nightmare at the door lol. I hated getting people that knew their bible, and you know it better than 99% of witnesses!
one of the most frustrating things.
when you confront jw's about what they believe they will often deny it.
such as "if your child is disfellowshipped then you can't have contact with them ever again".
I know when i was in i was embarrassed to tell someone some of the beliefs because they seem too crazy or over the top. They don't want it to sound too strict because that would turn people away, so they for sure water down what they believe.

I grew one last year and a sister came up and said, "what is that on your face!" and i asked her if she would say that to Jesus if he was here and she said she would. haha. I didn't shave it until after winter was over, but will grow it again next fall.
so it's not enough that i'm dealing with post traumatic stress/anxiety and panic attacks all related to my life as a jw (50 years baptized -- i stopped going a couple of months ago) at 3 a.m. i get an email from the other side of the world.

Yea just forget about it. I was told i would never graduate h.s. before armageddon came and not to have kids in this system because the end is so near. 20 years later here i am, all grown up and a lot smarter than to believe that crap anymore.
