  No longer gods channel of communication?

  smurf girl, i believe is her youtube name, an exjw with a youtube channel.

  she claims that if you go all over the jw.borg website you will no longer be able to find any mention of the organization or the fds being gods channel of communication.

  so what’s your thoughts on why the change?

  Consequences for having a non religious wedding ceraminy?

  hey i was wondering if maybe someone who is an ex elder or who knows a lot about these things could help me.

  my dad is an elder but i need to be cautious with questions i ask.

  now that i’ve been woken up from my brainwashed love of this corrupt corporation and from my belief in the bible, and my fiancé is starting to wake up as well, i really don’t want to have the sexist, overused, impersonal talk outline used for my wedding ceremony by some elder who is trying to show off his talk giving skills.

  Kingdom Hall shot up in Washington state

  a kingdom hall near a small community called yelm was shot up.

  yelm is where two kingdom halls where set on fire about a month ago.

  i think someone, exjw, in that area is really pissed off..

  Its sad that people resort to shooting at kh's or any church for that matter. I am honestly surprised it doesn't happen more though.

  Suicide in the spiritual paradise all too common

  just heard that a young brother committed suicide this week - the whole congregation is naturally very distressed.

  what a tragedy.

  according to my source he'd only been married about a year and his wife found him - he’d hung himself.

  i don't really have an opinion on the them one way or another.. when i was growing up the only place you saw them were on old ex military guys.

  they had eagles with american flags or a heart with a knife through it.

  some were so old and faded out you didn't know what they were supposed represent anymore.

  I have a few tattoos and i like them, they have meaning. I don't mind if someone has none or 100. At 70 years of age, tattoos or not, the body isn't going to be that great to look at anyways lol.

  New brochure about donations.

  in this midweek meeting the local needs was a booooring speech about the new brochure on donations.

  the wt must think the jws are dying to know how to give their money.. well, it's not new this is disgusting but this time, after i ve been slightly hinting people here and there for a year about the 'abnormal request of money' and remind them that 'the faithful slave wasn't like that until some time ago', this time i saw their faces.

  they did get bothered with that talk.

  Locally this past month when they read the accounts report, the cong, gave a whole $82 to the society lol. This is a hall of 70 something publishers and a few well off elders.

  many have said that jesus never shunned anyone.

  yet it seems that the apostle paul said to shun an unrepentant sinner, "stop keeping company" and "not even eating with such a man" 1co 5:9-12. it seems like shunning is what paul wanted us to do.

  but honestly, it doesn't seem right to me.

  My opinion is that Paul was one of the first apostates, going against the idea of jesus being loving towards all. Just an idea, nothing to base that on :)

  I know of a few in eastern iowa/illinois also that are being sold off/closed. Dewitt ia, rumor has it Anamosa ia is closing too, savannah ill a few years ago, galena ill about 6 years ago, manchester ia, platteville wi. These are just the ones i can think of over the last ten years and all within a 60 mile radius.
