Tepid pultry l spoke with my sister last week and she has been slacking off ( not going to meetings) ,l asked her why she bothers with the truth and her comment was (lm scared).Scared of what l asked.?Her comment was(lm scared that if armageddon comes she will die. Sad isnt it?
Even if it was the truth, it would be pointless to serve Jokehova half spiritedly. You would still be destroyed for being lukewarm.
Rev 3:15,16 - I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
So, even though there is no Armageddon coming, if it was coming she would get destroyed for being lukewarm. Therefore, she is gaining nothing from forcing herself to continue.
I think that personal honesty is important. Even though, I am now agnostic, there was a time when I still believed in the bible and Watchtower to a certain extent. Back then I told myself that if I couldn't serve Jokehova wholeheartedly, then it was pointless. Today I can say that I am happy I had the courage to accept that. I no longer believe that Armageddon is coming or that the world is going to end or any other crazy things. I only accept facts and I do not worry about the unknowable.
When we die, we will all know if god exists or not. It's pointless to worry about which religion is the right one especially when they all may be wrong. Just live and be the best that you can be in life.

I think that this is a no win situation
But I think that insight as to what is going on could be helpful
His responses as you've described were not spontaneous
They were rehearsed
JWS constantly prepare for every encounter
He probably approached an elder
And they worked on those responses together,
I would just leave them alone
It sounds like you gave it your all the first time
But they suffer from bullet proof brain syndrome
Everything bounces off
:0)It did seem strange. When I had revealed TTATT he seemed shocked and he couldn't even say a thing to defend his faith. Now, he seems to be able to articulate himself to a certain extent, even though his reasoning is still flawed as **ck. He probably spoke to the elders. They must have reinforced his brainwashing. Sigh...
I feel sad for him and angry at the same time...

I recently spoke to an old friend of mine who is still under the clutches of the Watchtower. A while back, I had told him about all the child sex abuse coverups, false prophecies, false doctrines etc. He was really shocked and surprised. He didn't know what to say. He was unaware of any of it.
Now, I met him again while out doing some shopping. At first he tried to dodge me so he wouldn't have to speak to me, but I called him out. I asked him how he was doing and the like. Eventually, I asked him what he had decided to do, if he was going to stay.
Surprisingly, he said that he "could not turn his back on Jehovah." He also said that, just because the F&D slave makes mistakes that doesn't mean that this isn't "the Truth". He also said that the media is lying on the Watchtower. Then, he told me that I should "come back to Jehovah". I almost laughed in his face. He said that, we should "just have faith in Jehovah." Like, is he braindead? He finished off by saying that he could no longer talk to me until I "come to my senses."
Why are Jdubs so effing brain dead? Sometimes, I believe that they have a mental disorder.

Are witnesses even trying anymore?
by megaboy inhavent had an encounter with a witness in a while, almost 10 years, though at this point i could run circles around them in the scriptures, this encounter was very strange.
was eating with my son at a coffee shop, guy comes up using it as an opening.
i'm use to this because people find my son beautiful so i was open to him.

The con is completed - comments from the US branch's LDC chief
by sir82 inrecently attended a special assembly day.. guest speaker was thomas chicky, a member of the us branch committee and the head of the us ldc (which has replaced the rbcs).. the last talk of the day is scheduled for an hour.
it was the usual boring mumbo-jumbo.
he appeared to have blasted through his hour-long outline in just about 45 minutes, so he "treated" us to informal comments on recent developments.. he commented on the new wt complex in fishkill ny.. then he dropped the bomb (well, to anyone with ears and at least 2 functioning synapses).. the following is not a word for quote, but presents the gist of his comments:.

Fight Fire With Fire!
by The Searcher inwolves use their "loyalty" questions to trap others - "do you believe we're living in the last days/this is god's organization/faithful slave?
" - yet resolutely avoid discussing topics which put their org in a bad light, my "loyalty" question to them would be - "do you accept literature truth over bible truth?
" they will either run or be forced to ask for examples of alleged differences.any other suggestions for "loyalty" questions?.

@Island Man:
Great illustration. Just to add, there is no literal faithful and discrete slave. Even as an agnostic I can see that Jesus' words were nothing more than an illustration. Jesus was instructing everyone to be a faithful slave and not an evil one. Upon his return, everyone who acted like a faithful slave by following his teachings would be rewarded while the evil slave would be punished. Sadly, logic never seems to get through the skulls of Jdubs.

Why isnt the overlapping generation( interpretation), consistently applied to these scriptures.?
by smiddy inwhy does the wt interpret matt.24:34 "truly i say to you this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.
" as having overlapping generations ?
and not applying the same reasoning to any other scripture/s referring to a generation or this generation .?

Simply because when these words were written, they weren't intended to imply an over lapping generation, they were expressively intended toward the generation of people living at the time.
Sorry folks but that's the truth and the facts.Exactly! Thus, the prophecy failed 2,000 or so years ago.
