Tameria2001, it is simply disgusting how your JW family has treated you these years. It is bad enough that they shun their own blood, but to antagonize the situation by saying you and your kids will all die at Armageddon is crossing a serious line into cruel judgment. Your sister sounds like she suffers from a personality disorder. Glad you guys got out when you did. Toxic people, toxic religion.

by Tameria2001 inhello everyone, it's been quite a while since i was last on this forum.

The identity of "The Faithful and Discreet Slave", solved - I think.
by Island Man in“who really is the faithful and discreet* slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?
- matthew 24:45. let's be honest, the faithful and discreet slave logically cannot refer to any and every christian.
this is not merely an encouragement for all christians to prove themselves faithful and discreet.

That's really interesting, Island Man. I pretty much feel that any explaination contrary to the Borgs interpretation is a good one.

Tameria2001, it is good to hear you went and had a nice time. Glad your husband stood up to those bullies and wouldn't take their cheek. Sounds like you were able to enjoy most of your visit. I am appalled that these people who claim to be true Christians are so hateful towards you and your husband. You would think they would be as kind as possible to try and "win you back". It sounds as though their egos are more what they are protecting than their religion. Anyway, hooray for you guys:-)

Need Suggestions/examples: Guide to helping family & friends break free
by LisaRose ini was going through my copy of steve hassan's combating cult mind control and it occurred to me that it would be great to have something like this specifically for us ex jehovah's witnesses.
while this is a great book, the examples he uses are mostly from people that were moonies, as steve is a former moonie and many people that have contacted him for help were relatives of moonies.
while cults all work basically the same, it would be nice to be have some ideas on things that are specific to jehovah's witnesses.

Thanks for that Lisa Rose. I need to brush up on my Steve Hassan lately. Truth be told it is quite exhausting mentally and emotionally for me to remember all this stuff and contemplate indirect tactics to slowly reveal ttatt to my husband. It's one day at a time for me. Thanks for bringing these little reminders to our attention:)

I'm with never a jw on this one. You have every right to be there for the entirety of the reunion. You have done nothing wrong. The people with the problem are the JW relatives, and unless they are the ones actually hosting the reunion, they hold no more precedence than anyone else. Hold your head high, and show your family that you have been happy and successful despite what they may have been taught about "worldly" people. If they have a problem, they can be the ones to leave early.

So glad to hear you had a good talk. Sounds like he has a great head on his shoulders, and thank goodness he has someone like you to support him along the way. Keep doing what you are doing, and encourage the education too. Made my day to read this.

I totally understand. I still believe in God. Same thing, I had to come to terms with the fact that everyone dies. This led to a lot of grieving that I had unknowingly stifled for years over loved ones of mine who have died. I'm happy for you. It's hard to acknowledge that we don't have all the answers too. Here's to being honest with yourself and brave enough to face the future. Cheers🍻

Glad to hear you have found resolution and peace within yourself. How did you come to the realization about death? Amazing that you were able to let go of having all the answers. A lot of people are trapped in religions because of fears like this.

Wow. You are one strong person to put up with this for so long. You must really love that little guy, and your wife too. Sadly, you can't change anyone. You can only let them know how you feel and work on yourself. Form a relationship doing something with your stepson that you both can connect on and enjoy together. It sounds like he trusts you. Your wife--sheesh--I don't know what to say. I'm suffering the same situation with my husband rn.

100-million man hours
by Coded Logic inthe james webb telescope is set to launch in october of 2018 and will allow us to study the formation of first generation stars, the molecular clouds that became the first galaxies, and directly image exoplanets.
roughly one hundred times more powerful than the hubble space telescope the jwst is going to push back the current boundaries of science.. this is what 100-million man hours can accomplish.. .
