The amount of information storable in DNA the size of a pinhead would fill volumes of books stacked 500 times higher than the moon from earth. In my opinion, science can no longer allow thinking people to accept an outdated 19th century Darwinian worldview.

Reminds me of the time I was vacationing in SanFrancisco on Fishermans Warf. A homeless man was hiding behind some branches that he was holding up on a sidewalk and as we walked by he shook them violently and made some tribal noises. I jumped about three feet in the air. I group of toursists (previous victims) were standing across the street laughing. His cardboard sign read: "Bushman"
Such is life.

Perry. I admire your faith. When I left the WBT$ I went to church and found it really uplifting. Times change and I did too.
PofN,
You seem like a nice person, and I too admire your attempt to check out the other side when you left the WT. I did the same thing. I found a nice established old-line Protestant High Church kind of church to start atttending. And, I didn't get saved there. I joined the singles group and led the Sunday School many times. But, I stiil didn't have a clue as how to get right with God and experience his power and presence.
About this time I gave up trying to live two lives and let my parents know that I was a traditional Christian. (even though I had no idea how to get saved) This sealed the near total shunning from them and others. I needed PEACE badly. I needed God to take away my anger at the WT and others.
It was a combination of the severe pain of the shunning and the emptiness displayed by many of the posters on this very discussion board that drove me to my knees to ask Jesus to save me, all of me. That's what makes this DB so special; the faces come off and you can really see how different world-views effect people - How they interpret things.
What Jeus is asking us to do is to totally abandon ourself to him. He is not interested at all in our efforts to be good enough for salvation. He knows that we can't on our own. He says if we will just believe him, he will do the rest, all the heavy lifting, all the work. He says he will get in the yoke with us and the burden would be easy and the load light.
I finally did this and finally experienced everything that he promised in the NT. (I lost a family, God gave me a church family, and at age 40, a wife that produced for me two children, and a distant relatives' family. I lost one, and got three in return from the lord.) It wasn't easy, because I had given my near-all to the WT and got burned. But, I new enough scripture to know that my WT experience had little to do with Jesus. It was a bitter pill to swallow - knowing that all my years as a Christian, wasn't as a Christian. But, I did it right, one last time - permanently.
My views changed as a result. If I see a star cluster, I thank God for it. If it looks like a bleeding hand, I see Jesus. If I get a golden contract in my business, I thank God for it. If my new RV gets stolen (like it did two weeks ago) I remember that the enemy comes only to steal, rob & destroy. When I see beauty in my wife and kids, I praise God for his grace. But most of all, I thank God for his presence inside me, which he promises to ALL Christians who abandon themselves to him. I can NEVER be lonely again, no matter how many loved ones shun me. Anyway, that's my story.

Oh, I felt certainty then. I was so damned sure about everything that I gave up my life to the WTBTS. The problem is there’s no logical or evidential way to demonstrate anything about God.... The fact is that most of us were dedicated believers.
Oh I was a dedicated believer too... all the while rejecting Jesus as my personal savior. The bottom line is that we fell for the same scam that every other religious believer falls for, that we can DO something to improve our situation. God says you can't. This assaults our pride. One act of belief sold us into slavery to sin and death, one act of belief buys us out. But, that's tooooo simple for most.
I did it and will tell everyone until I die how that utterly changed everything for me for the better.

That's the problem with basing your beliefs on things that cannot be proven
This is not the Christian argument. This Christian argument is this: Jesus is alive, he lives inside me once I accepted his pardon (and by necessity the need for it). He produces proven, tangible results in my life NOW. I posess a KNOWING not only of God's existence but of unending life with him.
I spent 8 years as a true blue witness; and now about the same amount of time as a born-again Christian. I can truthfully compare both and state that they have zero in common with one another. They are as far apart as death is from life.

1) You cannot prove that God does not exist, so He does.(Burden of Proof Fallacy)
Proof is everwhere, from the "Hand of God" to billions of tighly packed information bits found in the DNA to the living cell's hundreds of irreducible complex parts.
2) There is currently no explanation for this, so God did it (Argument from incredulity fallacy)
There is an explanation. Rather, truth be told, there is not reasonable scientific explanation how this design just appeared.
3) God exists because the bible/qu’ran/torah says it’s the word of said “on true God” /bible, torah, qu’ran quotes (Circular Reasoning Fallacy)
Wrong. There is no "because" , in other words no previous "cause". He is the First Cause which is reasonable to deduce.
4) Many people believe God exists so he does (Appeal to belief Fallacy)
See above.
5) The bible makes me feel good, so it is true (Appeal to Consequences of a belief Fallacy)
The bible does not make me feel good at all. I cannot participate in my own salvation. This insults my pride. Jesus said I must give up everything to get everything, this insults my sensibilities, He says his saved are children, brothers, but also slaves, this upsets my notions of freedom until I compare Christian "freedom" with slavery to sin, vice and death.
6) I had a personal encounter with God, so it is true (Anecdotal Evidence- Jews and Muslims do as well)
Personal testimony is high quality evidene if it is from a credible witness. 40% to 60 % of all Muslim converts to Christianity are doing so because of personal encounters with God through dreams.
7) I prayed to God and I was cured (Post hoc ergo proptor fallacy)
Unless of course its true.
8) Ontological* Argument (Fallacy of Misplaced Concreteness)
*Because we think something perfect can exist it therefore does exist. Also Existence is wonderful. God is wonderful therefore God has existence.
Unless of course he inhabits believers and they can feel his presence inside them. Then, it isn't just "thinking"
9) Bible prophecies (Circular Reasoning Fallacy+Red Herring Fallacy+ Self-fulfilling Fallacy+Composition Fallacy+Equivocation)
Fulfilled Bible Prophecies are powerful evidence.
10) *ignores argument * Argues about something else (Red Herring Fallacy)
Christians are not saying that they can out argue someone on whether or not God exists. They KNOW he does because he lives inside them.
11) *ignores argument * You don’t believe in God because you’re dumb, atheist! (Personal Attacks Fallacy 'ad hominem')
Not dumb. God's existence implies accountability, judgment. This is scary stuff. However, the good news is that there is nothing that you can do to improve your situation as someone who will face judgment one day. It has already been provided for you. If you receive him.
12) This is all just lies and slander as expected from an atheist (Genetic Fallacy 'ad hominem')
Mostly just well-founded fear disguised as logic.

We think we know everything and can figure it all out... how far can we actually be from the painfull truth: we are just species... we live... we sleep, eat, drink, have sex and after a period of time we die. Game over...
Not true DeWanderlaar..... just another Watchtower lie from the pits of hell. We are different than the animals. We alone were made in the image of an eternal God. Our soul is eternal and will exist in one state or another for eternity. To be separated from God is to be separated from every conceivable notion of good and love, since God is good and is Love.
Note:
Without a doubt the human soul is immortal. This is clearly seen in many Scriptures in both the Old and New Testaments: Psalm 22:26 ; 23:6 ; 49:7-9 ; Ecclesiastes 12:7 ; Daniel 12:2-3 ; Matthew 25:46 ; and 1 Corinthians 15:12-19 . Daniel 12:2 says, “Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.” Similarly, Jesus Himself said that the wicked “will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life” ( Matthew 25:46 ). With the same Greek word used to refer to both “punishment” and “life,” it is clear that both the wicked and the righteous have an eternal/immortal soul. So the hardline," take no prisoners stance" of the Christian god is an admirable thing?
It is certainly not hardline. If a theif stole your car and the judge punished him instead of entertaining all his "virtuous" stories about how he visited his grandmother in the nursing home to bring her brownnies, and about how he didn't selfishly hoard his cigarettes but shared them with other inmates the last time his was in jail; I doubt you would think of that judge as doing less than his duty.
See, God is good, he is a loving father. He paid our due punishment for OUR sin (not Adam's like we were told) while we were yet FAR from him, just so that he can fellowship and commune with us personally.... forever; if we receive it. There are several facets of our Good God. One of those roles is that of Judge. He is a good judge, not a bad one.

If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by
And that is the basis of all religions except Christianity. When you are before a judge for a traffic violation he simply will not allow you to waste his time with long recounts of all the virtuous things you have done. Courts don't work that way here on earth. And, they certainly don't work that way in Heaven.

So, then, how do you explain that the vast majority of humans, despite their prayers and faith , do not get the same favor from god as the select few?
For Years I was a devout JW and tried really hard to be "good", prayed all the time....got no where with God. I denied the New Covenant God had offered to all. These causes produced predictable effects. My efforts produced effects that were harmful.
After making friends with God through the blood of Jesus, I see dramatically different effects. I KNOW in my spirit that I have eternal life. I don't hope for it as if it is something I might get. And what I have, you can get too.
I experience the internal peace of God, joy in personal relationships that previously eluded me. Restoration of thinking ability. Happy marriage. Loving children. I watch God work in others' lives to round off the edges and produce real christ-like character.
All on this earth are in various stages of dying. Death is an effect God did not cause. It was caused by someone else. God gives life by the merest act of faith in the blood of his Son. He did all the work. Life is available to all through the simple work of belief.
