Amazing how these "3 million" year old molars look identical to "modern" molars.

God was the cause of the evil
by opusdei1972 inbart ehrman noticed, in his book "god's problem", the fact that god was responsible for job's pain.
to show it, bart quoted the following verse:.
and they showed him sympathy and comforted him for all the evil that the lord had brought upon him.

Rethinking "this world", "the world", and "worldly"
by Fernando inif all religion is a snare and a racket as per judge rutherford, then has religion maybe lied to us on this score too?.
could jesus have meant: "if you belonged to the (religious) world, it would love you as its own.
as it is, you do not belong to the (religious) world, but i have chosen you out of the (religious) world.

IMHO the "world" that was being referred to is the self-directed world, or in the instance of religiosity... the "other-directed' world. Those in union with Christ are "spirit directed".
There is a "world" of difference between the two.

The idea that God is evil and satan is good is an old gnostic heresy.

Self assembly chairs & evolution
by suavojr ini'm no expert and do not claim to be in regards to how evolution works but this small test did make think how all things are related and have evolved from one common ancestor.
the horrible example that i grew up hearing about a watch not being able to assemble itself or plane after a tornado, etc... dawkins would say, "well of course not" but mit seems to be on the path to make us think twice.

I guess that's the true miracle of evolution
I agree: evolution is completely indistinguishable from a miracle

Please Focus on the Bible
by terrypike inhi people, may i firstly thank those who have responded to to my intro article, i am replying to you all as a new topic because the direct messaging is not working for me at the moment so i can clarify my perspective on bible study.
yes there are many arguments that are put forward to demonstrate for example that the bible has been composed of numerous preexisting creation story's ect, my focus is to give the bible the same opportunity to defend itself as anyone reasonably expects if charged with some crime they are not guilty of.. i find for example the account of jesus response when questioned about the divorce certificate 'but it was not so in the beginning' confirms that moses allowed changes to be made to the original, that said consider also the religious traditions moses people had been exposed to, the story of the god enki who seduced even his own grandchildren and the well known incest of the egyptian royalty, given the genetic cost, are such practices any more right now than they were then?
communities that practice close relative marriages today are well documented for there higher risk of numerous health problems so how would you find moses on that basis, guilty or not guilty as jesus did because he understood why moses took the creation story's of other cultures and gave his people there own creation story that taught them to avoid the general pagan practice of incest.before looking any deeper at moses creation story may i also ask the question why does jesus knowing that god promised he would never again destroy the world by a flood as he did in noah's day say 'as in the days of noah ..the flood came and took them all away' so what did jesus actually mean mt 24:.

The Ancient Church Fathers who were the disciples of the apostles, wrote A LOT. From their own writings you can precisely document that the same doctrine was faithfully transmitted to their descendants in the first few centuries. You can also learn where, when, and by whom, that heresies were introduced and how the disciples of the apostles reacted to them. The ancient church fathers make it very easy to know for sure what the complete teachings of Jesus were as well as the consensus on canonical books & letters.
I recommend the following book on the subject:

I am giving these examples because I am concerned about how our future generations yours and mine will cope with the growing pressures on our religious heritage not least from the sharp increase in the Muslim community
You make a lot of assumptions in your post. I would like to point out that most of the arguments critics of Christianity use to justify themselves without a savior are refuted on numerous websites:
However, it is important to understand what God says about unbelief. Since he is all-knowing, it eliminates a lot of frustration in determining what is going on.
Unlike the animals; man alone is unique with his innate notions of morality and the awareness of God. Someone once said that with great gifts comes great responsibility. This is especially true in the area of moral justice and the innate knowledge of God.
And yes, we are innately aware of God’s existence and his moral justice, from infancy.
Romans 1: 18 & 19 states: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold [holds down] the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest [shining] in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. - KJV
God says here that the knowledge of him is already shining within us, even as sinners, but that the real problem is that unrighteous people suppress or push down this truth within themselves. People tend to imagine God as they would like him to be, or as they have been misled into believing him to be, rather than as he actually is as revealed in our hearts and his word the bible.
This is really bad news for humans who entertain various illusions about God because God maintains that they are still accountable. It is this accountability that the gospel message of justification addresses. It is not our culture that is at stake here but our souls:
Hebrews 9:7 it is appointed unto man once to die and then judgment
You will find that the knowledge of God is equally suppressed among all those that are damned. It is a psychological trick the mind uses to justify itself apart from God.

Welcome!
I took a different path. I now witness to my witness family when I can. I was a 4th generation JW and regular pioneer. Large Sicilian family on my mom's side - most JW's
Every ex-jw will make a decision on this issue:
"He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." - Jesus
I have not regretted my choice; and Jesus has proven himself closer than a brother to me.
God Bless You!

Inside each of these objects is one or more specially designed magnets, installed at key connection points. Each magnet is made to be attracted to only its perfect match, so there’s no chance that the chair will accidentally put itself together upside down.
design comes from intelligence
life comes from life
anything can come from you tube
On a more practical note: I'm waiting for those MIT boys to make CO2 cartriges that will assemble a chair made in China with just the pull of a string!

Perry, if that man has Homo Sapient genes then he's not a Neandertal. Neandertals had a distinctly different gene pool.
Not according to this study:
Humans and Neanderthals were 99.84% genetically alike
Rick Docksai | Science Recorder | April 21, 2014
An average Neanderthal and a prehistoric human were about as close, genetically speaking, as any two humans walking the Earth today. That is the conclusion of a new Israeli study that finds that only 0.12 percent of difference, on average, separated the Neanderthals’ genomes from those of early homo sapiens..
... Human genomes today differ from each other by about 0.1%, on average.
