The 1995 Generation Change
by sloppyjoe2 ini was just a teenager and have a vivid memory of sitting in a chair doing a microphone for the sunday meeting.
everyone was commenting that it didn't mean the end was far off, and it didn't change the condition of the dead, or the 144,000, or the trinity so we should still remain faithful.
this is my first memory as a kid being just a teen that i ever had a single doubt.

That was the last straw for me. I knew they were just making stuff up as they went along after that WT article. I moved off to college shortly thereafter. -

On the Relevancy of The Institutionalization of Sin
by Perry inchild murder, sodomy & corrupting the human genome are not new sins, they are old ones.
what is new is their institutionalization.
but even that isn't totally new.

I suggest people who are interested in the biblical treatment of
slavery, rape, polygamy etc. look the subject up on :

Village Idiot,
The separation of the soul and body is identical to what the Watchtower calls death. It is also identical to what materialists and naturalists call death. I simply used the biblical definition of death. At that moment of separation, the body will appear as if it is sleeping and start to decay rapidly. You however will be as much, or more conscious as you have ever been in your life. I have personally experienced something similar to this on 5 nearly consecutive days. As a result, I simply cannot be deceived by Watchtower nonsense or any other ideology in this particular regard. I have seen it for myself.
There is a biblical account in 1 Cor. 12: 2 that shows that things like this do occur from time to time:
I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a one was caught up to the third heaven. And I know such a man—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows— how he was caught up into Paradise
This man (probably Paul himself) experienced the rare occurrence of being in two places at the same time.
You and every single person reading this thread will be conscious forever. And, there is nothing you or anyone else in the universe can do to stop it. It is your destiny.
Now, getting back to the topic:
The reason I post things like I do is certainly not because I think they are popular. I post things like this because after a person is born again, your eyes open and you see what God would really like to do for you. He really, really does not not want to separate from you for eternity, unless you really and truly desire that.

DJS,
It is just a fact of our existence that eternity is ours for keeps. It's just part of the design. The Watchtower brainwashed us into believing that consciousness stops at the separation of the soul and body. Other secular ideologies try to dumb down humans into believing the same thing like materialism and naturalism.
All three of those ideologies believe that the worst thing that can happen to a person is non-existence at death. God says consciousness is forever. What we believe has a big effect on how we view ourselves and others.
If a person views things from the point of view of God who says that you will be conscious forever, even if dead; then the outlook will be very different than someone who believes that they are here briefly and then are unconscious forever.
This is part of the Christian message that Jesus asked to be preached in Acts 10. Christians are against sin (and the institutionalization of it) not because it is particularly relevant to their own lives in many cases, but because if not dealt with properly, will separate people from all that can be characterized as "good" for eternity. It is certainly nothing personal. Love of neighbor causes me to speak my mind at times, as it should for everyone.
Existence is forever.

DJS,
Its relevancy is drastically diminished when compared to our TOTAL inability to cease consciousness when we die.
No one will be able to stop being aware, ever.

Child murder, Sodomy & corrupting the Human Genome are not new sins, they are old ones. What is new is their institutionalization. But even that isn't totally new. It's all happened before..... before the flood and in Sodom & Gomorrah.
With the SCOTUS ruling on Friday, there is going to be a lot of professional victims out of a purpose. Where does a PV go to from here?
What's on the Horizon?
This legally married homosexual couple in Massachusetts added another woman to their marriage and had lawyers draw up a legal agreement since three-way homo marriage is still coming down the court house pike. This is exactly how homosexual unions/marriage got started.
This of course will lead to three (or more) parent babies, which is already legal in the UK:
And there is still the horizon of transhumanism with animals and machines and then boldly forward onto posthumanism.
The below paragraph was copied from an opening post on another thread:
To be blunt, you shouldn't listen to me, except when I make appeal to common sense, logic, reason, science, and Scripture which you agree with in your heart and in your mind. After all, you don't need to be a rocket scientist or have a college degree in order to know what is right and wrong, and to have good morals and ethics. In fact, you don't even need to be religious to be a good, moral person.
I see a lot of Christians making similar arguments. The problem is when you appeal to authority other than scripture there is no difference from your opinion than anyone else.
I am against practicing homosexuality for one reason only, God says no. I am certainly against the institutionalization of it for the same reason, and no other. God also says no to adultery and a number of other things that some people find pleasurable.
When I left the Watchtower I trusted no one, most of all God. I placed my trust fully in myself for many years. It solved some issues, but on balance it created more problems than it solved. I came to realize that it was not within my constitution to be the final arbiter of right and wrong. I just couldn't see far enough down the road and I couldn't trust the things that I thought I did see.
Things looked clear enough, but I would find out the hard way that A & B really are the same shade like God said they were, even though they appeared so different to me.
Eventually, after accepting Christ's New Covenant, I found out that God's Yesses far outnumbered his No's. I have found God to be a very kind and patient gentleman after making friends with him through the blood of Jesus.
But my testimony, scripture and even morals or ethics are not the ultimate reason to believe God. The ultimate reason to believe God is because you were created in his image, in his likeness. The eternal God made man with an eternal consciousness so that no matter what... they could enjoy each other's company forever.
Just because we disagree with God from time to time doesn't create a work order for God to destroy our eternal soul/consciousness. Whether we choose to enjoy God's fellowship through the blood of Christ and the rebirth or not; it doesn't change our "eternalness" that is fundamental to our nature and construction. It does however change where we will spend eternity and with whom.
Imagine being in an uncomfortable situation void of all comforts for ever and ever and ever and ever.... unable to cease being conscious - for eternity.
God, in his wisdom gives people what they want..... complete freedom in him, or from him.

The first 4000 years Jehovah communicates with humans, the next 2000 years is given to Jesus and he communicates with no one.
by smiddy inthe bible has ample evidence of god communicating with humans during the first 4 centuries.. since jesus time ,god has not communicated with humans at all .,in the same way as he did in the first 4 centuries .. in fact jesus has not communicated with humans in the same way as jehovah did for the first 4000 years., during his 2000 years to this date , .
does not the bible say , god does not change , he is the same today as he was yesterday and will be tomorrow ?.
so why was god communicating with humans on a regular basis , one way or another for 4000 years and then , neither jehovah or his son jesus christ ever directly contacted humans ?.

We have not heard a word from Jesus these past 2000 years .
Biblical, historical 1st century type Christians are born again with a new spirit. This new spirit is sinless and so provides a foothold for the eventual redemption of the whole tripartite man: Spirit, Soul & Body. God interacts directly with the new spirit in a born again believer. Much more efficient than talking into a persons' ears.
Jesus said that when the Holy Spirit comes, that he would instruct born again believers into all the ways of truth.
The cross was God's final word on mans' attempt at being good. Not a lot to talk about after that.

by sir82 intalked with a pioneer recently, she was recounting her first experience with cart witnessing.. she brought the subject up, was going on & on & on & on about how wonderful the experience was, and how great, and how she enjoyed it so much, and it was so wonderful, and oh jehovah's blessing, and on and on and on...... a few questions to her revealed what really happened:.
-- a jw who owns a small restaurant in a strip mall allows jws to set up their cart outside his restaurant.
-- the restaurant is tucked pretty far out of the way, not prominent at all.
