  The Ole' Harlot aint as pretty as she used to be. Her generation ran out, her clothes became out of style and she developed some strange facial tics like opening her eyes unusually wide while speaking. Gone are the days of the slick, bombastic crooning by Franz and Knorr.

  She got old. She can't get the price that she used to get. Christianity, on the other hand is growing.

  And despite requiring the death penalty, Muslims are turning to Christ in unprecedented numbers.
  
  Christians have been preaching the core doctrines of Justification, Sanctification & Glorification of believers for 2000 years and will continue until raptured.

  WT, please keep preaching about how awesome your organization is, please, pretty please. Please keep preaching your false gospel of universal sovereignty, sanctification of Jehovah's Holy Name etc.

  Looks like they know that business as usual is nearing its end. They are liquidating to grab as much cash as possible. They likely don't know where the bottom is. Until they do, they'll just sit on as much liquidity as possible.
  
  I do have a question for everyone here. From what I understand, Canada prohibited charities from making loans 2 or 3 years ago. Does anyone know if other countries have passed similar legislation? What about the USA?

  It is my understanding that the WT cancelled KH loans so as to retain their tax exempt status in Canada.
  
  Did they cancel loans in certain countries or globally?

  with the ever present issue of the society seeming to run out of money, and constantly asking the flock for more donations, maybe it is time to revive this quote!.

  the leaked financial dept videos that have done the rounds, clearly show the society is in desperate trouble financially.. so, where is the "almighty's hand"?

  where is his ability to provide funds?

  Good point. When I realized that my non-belief was actually an intended consequence of the WT experience, I decided to do things "by the book" for a change.
  
  My whole life took off in the right direction after making peace with God and abandoning religion and my own efforts as sources of influencing God. Looking back, I can now see how utterly offensive that was to God.
  
  Unbelievable satisfaction is garnered just from knowing that the WT didn't win in my case. But, in all truthfulness, I have to give God the credit for that too. All the same... I get to walk in the victory parade.

  Glad you brought that out Stucknarut. I have been thinking about that very quote the past few days. I actually used to quote that to my bible students when I was a pioneer.

  It remains to be seen if the leaders will follow Jehovah's new direction.

  JWs & "generations"

  we all know what a mess the jw "generation" teachings have been.

  but, there is one hard and fast truth concerning jws and "generations" - that is, that many generations of jws have died without the realization of the hope they were promised.. there were many before my grandfather's time, but i'm going to start with his.

  his generation, his peers, lived at a time when jwdom was exciting, bold, confident, seemingly deeper and scholarly, seemingly genuinely concerned about the preaching work and saving lives.

  Same here. Work out at the gym. Enjoying my family. (The one I started at age 40 after leaving). Planning for retirement. Leaving the subject of "world conditions" in the hands of Christ. Looking forward to starting a wood working hobby this fall on newly acquired acreage property. Made peace with God. Not afraid of death. Will be 55 in two days.
  
  About to take kids and dog to the dog park. Life is good.

  The data is from Canada, which requires disclosure from charities. There is no such requirement from the U.S.
  
  I had my CPA friend look at the data and he says they look to be in pretty big trouble. My friend has his doctorate, is a tenured college professor and has several other letters behind his name. He also pointed out several other things that looked abnormal. I would describe him as a forensic accountant.
  
  He said he'd be willing to do an analysis in plain English so everyone could understand on a podcast sometime. He has been interested in JW issues for sometime now, even coming to one of my ex-jw events.

  I just wish we could get a leaked statement for him to anaylize. That would be great!

  Thanks OrphanCrow. The loan back scheme must have been a significant source of income. They are in trouble for multiple reasons it seems.

  Look at 2014

  56 million dollar loss on revenue of 61 Million. Plus they have wiped out all their long term investments.
  
  Does anyone know of any financial statements that have leaked from the US Watchtower? I would love to go over those.

  The data are self-reported on informational returns, and so may not be entirely accurate. That is, they may not be audited or in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

  The Canadian government put the standard disclaimer that the numbers are self-reported and should not be relied upon. But if these are the losses they are willing to self-disclose, you can infer that a more accurate picture is probably worse.
