How can a "God, who Cannot Lie" (Titus 1:2) justify DESTRUCTION?

i was raised as a jw, most of my family is still in, i regular pioneered for 5 years, elder for even longer.

preached for over 40 years that the 1914 generation will see the end, etc, etc... believed every single word, and preached it with total conviction.. i have not been active for approx 7 years, completely faded now, mainly because i couldn't believe a loving god would destroy me, after coming to terms with and admiting i was preaching a lie.. i'm extremely happy i'm out, although still hitched to it somehow by my past, i guess like many of us on here.. i do have a question for all jws.. how can "god, who cannot lie" a god which is love, justify destroying the world, including all of us that left, and saving only the jws, when for decades one of the main teachings of the jws has proved to be a lie?

a teaching no one wants to discuss anymore, which got covered up by a new light, which most can't even explain.

People are different, and if we are the children of God, I believe He would do everything He could for us.

That's the problem, we are not God's children at birth. We are children of Adam. As such, God has no obligation whatsoever to us. Yet, while we were yet enemies and sinners, Christ died for us. For those who do not put trust in Jesus ALONE, their sin (and judgement that determines salvation) remains.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The God you have created in your mind would never judge sin. You are guilty of breaking one of the ten commandments - Ye shall have no other gods before me.

Jesus comes in at Armageddon to save mankind, or what's left of it, from the devastations of the Anti-Christ. The WT turns things around and makes Jesus the bad guy.

Real judgement comes after you die according to the bible:

it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment - Heb 9: 27

the members of jehovah's witnesses who receive this "food at the proper time" receive it from their governing body who have digested.

Still, it is instructive to know what those close to Jesus thought of him. Those of us that that wished to follow Jesus as Jehovah's Witnesses were prevented from doing so in the way that his close associates did through the evil deceptions of the Watchtower.

If you do not wish to follow Jesus, I respect that. I think Jesus would respect that decision as well. For me, John's connection that he makes draws me closer to the New Testament ideal that Jehovah himself suffered as my savior in the person of his only begotten - Jesus

For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? (Answer: NONE) And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. - Hebrews 1: 5-6

Ok EVERYONE- want to know who is going to be reading this website and others?

while everyone has been bickering back and forth, i decided to do something positive to move forward.

as most of you know back in jan our family marked us as apostates and started shunning us.. so i wrote to all of my congress-people and told them what is going on with the jw's.

i told them how they are breaking up families, teaching the children intolerance, etc.

Good Job Newly Enlightened. We live in a representative democracy and the Ex-JW community is a part of those being represented. I praise you for your initiative.

I still can't get over how I never saw the deception in having a "bible" study from a book that was not the bible. It never occurred to me that a bible study should use the bible as the sole textbook.

almost every jw claim's "organized preaching" is the mark of true christians, this is not backed by the bible.

how are jws like the first century through fourth century christians?.

You bet your bippy. And the book of Jasher is referred to three times favorably in the bible. It's not inspired....just an ancient history book.

Zechariah 12:10

The King James Version and the Tanakh both say in Zechariah 12:10, "and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced." When John is writing in John 19:37 and quotes Zechariah 12:10, he has changed it to say, "They shall look on him (instead of me) whom they pierced."

John understands Zechariah 12:10 to be a Literal Prophecy plus Literal Fulfillment.

John is convinced that Jesus is God Himself appearing and living among Israel as a man, as the Messianic person. John then communicates his understanding of the scene he witnessed when Jesus was pierced by the Roman spear. He knew that the Messianic person had to be pierced according the Zechariah 12:10. He believes that Jesus is the Messianic person. When he sees Jesus pierced by the Roman soldier, he understands that moment to be a literal fulfillment of what was predicted in Zechariah 12:10......

John is not alone in his understanding that the Messianic person is being referred to here. Ancient Jewish sages carried the same understanding. Here are a few quotes found in rabbinic literature:

Babylonian Talmud Sukkah 52a:
It's well according to him who explains that the cause (of the mourning) is the slaying of the Messiah the son of Joseph, since that well agrees with the Scripture verse: 'And they shall look upon me, whom they have pierced; and shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son'. 1

But designs, this thread is directed to Jehovah's Witnesses (and EX) who consider themselves Christian, and haven't yet accepted the diety of Christ. As a Christian, how can the scriptures in my opening post leave room for any conclusion other than... John considered Jesus to also posesses the substative essence of Jehovah; and is in fact arguing that point by quoting OT scripture.
