This is a perfect example of the kinds of things that fascinate a sociologist. The experience of "disappointment" in others unlike yourself and inflicting "shame". This is antisocial behavior, it is narcissitic, and dysfunctional.

There are no flaws in preferences. This is just what I prefer, neither being right or wrong. I did my college work in sociology. Though I am a businessman now, I am still interested in how people react leaving varied social constructs. There is no "flaw" in observation..... to the contrary, a great deal can be learned.
Having experienced a drastic paradigm shift myself when I left the Watchtower and eventually believed God; I am interested in others who have experienced similar paradigm shifts in their beliefs. This is why this is posted under the "beliefs" section.
For the sociologist (in me), he is more interested in the lives of those that experience such a shift, rather than the lack of proofs that would cause these scientists to abandon the standard "party line" theory of evolution.
I hope that helps to clarify where I'm coming from.

Dr. Richard Lumsden (1938-1997) was a professor of parasitology and cell biology at Tulane University in Louisiana where he also served as the dean of the graduate school of biological sciences. During his illustrious career, Lumsden published about 90 peer-reviewed papers and was awarded the Henry Baldwin Ward medal (the highest world-recognized award for parasitology ). He also received over 21 research grants and contracts from many well-known organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
In the YouTube video below, Lumsden (a self-proclaimed evolutionist and Christian ridiculer) relates that after giving a lecture at Tulane University on the theory of evolution, one of his best students began asking him questions about evolution which he later realized had caused him to doubt his long-held evolutionary worldview . The doubts set Lumsden out on a search for truth. In his video testimony, Lumsden tells how he came to believe in a Creator and eventually walked up the isle of a church to accept Jesus Christ as his savior.

In his testimony, Dr. Lumsden says he was a staunch Darwinian evolutionist who took great pleasure in ridiculing Christian beliefs during his university classroom lectures. After the Louisiana legislature passed a law requiring pre-college teachers to give creation equal time with evolution in the classroom, Lumsden became so outraged that he prepared and delivered a lecture at Tulane University in support of Darwinian evolution. After the lecture, one of Dr. Lumsden’s top students asked to meet with him so she could “get some of her facts straight.” During the meeting, without being judgmental or argumentative, the student (who was a Christian) began asking Dr. Lumsden a series of questions about evolution. Three hours later when the student thanked him and walked out of his office, Lumsden realized the student’s questions had left him with a lot of doubt in his mind about the theory of evolution, a theory he had wholeheartedly embraced for many years.

Dr. James Tour is a well-known professor at Rice University, specializing in chemistry, nanoengineering, and computer science. Over the last 30 years, Tour has authored over 500 research publications, and he was recognized as one of “The 50 Most Influential Scientists in the World Today” by TheBestSchools.org. Tour has also received awards and recognitions from the American Chemical Society, Thomson Reuters, Honda, NASA, and others.
In a video released in late 2012, Tour explained that he has had extensive experience studying the origin of life.
“I will tell you as a scientist and a synthetic chemist,” Tour said, “if anybody should be able to understand evolution, it is me, because I make molecules for a living, and I don’t just buy a kit, and mix this and mix this, and get that. I mean, ab initio, I make molecules. I understand how hard it is to make molecules.”

I know. That is kinda a given being this is an ex-JW site. As a JW, I always heard that this was added in the 15 century or so blah, blah , blah. And, that it doesn't appear in the oldest Greek manuscripts blah, blah, blah. I was soooo sure that was the end of the matter. I was so cock sure of myself as a JW. Now, I realize there is much more to the story than that.
If it was added in the 15th century like the Watchtower told us, then how did it get into all the other manuscripts and quotes from the early church fathers from as early as 170 AD?

I personally appreciated the research that this guy did. Hostile sources are excellent ways of corroborating things. I have never seen such a list of quotes all in one place. Several, I had not considered before.
Most of his conclusions that appear in my opening post seem rather sound. All in all, a good read for the history buff.

He was a teacher who taught that through repentance and belief, all followers would become brothers and sisters. He led the Jews away from their beliefs. He was a wise man who claimed to be God and the Messiah.
He had unusual magical powers and performed miraculous deeds. He healed the lame. He accurately predicted the future. He was persecuted by the Jews for what He said, betrayed by Judah Iskarioto. He was crucified on the eve of the Passover and this crucifixion occurred under the direction of Pontius Pilate, during the time of Tiberius.

They met regularly to worship Jesus, even after His death.
