Why don't some members of the congregations never slow down or get tired out?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy uncle passed away two years ago at the age of 83. he served as an elder from 1965 to the last day of his life.
even till the end of his life he was still reading the bible.. he was an elder for 48 years.
never missed a meeting, pioneered during the summer months ( took vacation weeks),pioneered after retiring at 65 years old, never went on real vacation, went to all summer conventions and assemblies ( traveling to new york, wisconsin, canada and california ).. he also conducted book studies, watchtower meetings, gave sunday public talks, assembly parts, elder meetings, had a weekly book study with his family, cleaned the kingdom hall, and donated money when the congregation was short money for the month.. everyone is zealous in the beginning but tire out sooner or later.

What do you think is the reason some members of the congregation never slow down or get tired out?
Two words - Will worship
Colossians 2:23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. -KJV
Romans 8:13 “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
God says that when we try to do things by will-power alone, it is nothing more than idolatry and only satisfies the flesh. It is offensive to him and deadly. It does not address the real problem of sin and only puts up a show of righteousness.
As a group, JW’s are not known as lazy people. Many members have admirable powers of self-discipline, industriousness, and character. However, I learned that Jesus is not asking us to try harder, run faster & jump higher to be good enough for Salvation. That’s the good news. The bad news is that he is asking us for nothing less than the death of all deeds rooted in our flesh. He is asking us to abandon our self to him. And, in that abandonment he promises freedom and rest. These are his terms for peace.
Jesus terms for peace with God are unusual. In the Roman world, peace was achieved differently. The legions would march into an area with a superior show of force and many times the local king would send out and ambassador to see if terms of peace could be reached. The Romans were practical people. They had mastered the art of war and they sought to export this product. In exchange for a tax payment, they offered the protection of the Roman legion against marauding bands of foreigners. The people could enjoy a limited national autonomy, and they could enjoy the Pax Romana, the Roman Peace…. as long as they paid the tax. This is how the major cities in Europe got their start. It all seemed so practical.
It is against this backdrop that Jesus tells us his terms for peace with God in Luke 14: 31-33
Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath , he cannot be my disciple.
Jesus terms for peace with God is NOT a percentage of our works, it is ALL of them. This is the meaning of his words where he said that, he who seeks to find his life will lose it, and he who seeks to lose his life for my sake will find it.
Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Jesus was once asked point blank what the work of God was:
John 6: 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
Jesus reveals that our most basic responsibility before God is to believe him. A split second BEFORE Eve sinned; she made a decision not to believe God. Belief is a CHOICE. Our obedience to what Jesus commands proves our belief is real. JW’s love to quote James 2 where it says, “faith without works is dead.” That is true, but it must be God working in us both to will and to do, or else it is still tainted by sin. And, the only way that is going to happen is to be born again with a new spirit.
Col. 1: 27 …God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
2 Cor. 5: 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:
Gal. 2: 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Having to be born again is offensive to our intellect and our pride. Humans want to believe they are good enough for God. They imagine a false God that will accept their works. However, we must deal with the God we have, not the one we imagine. For Jehovah’s Witnesses this is a great obstacle. They are very proud of their works before God. And, only an understanding of Judgment, and the payment made for each of us by Jesus Christ can motivate a person enough to get past their pride and hurt feelings in my opinion.

Does forever mean forever?
by I_love_Jeff in1 chronicles 28:9 "and you, my son solomon, acknowledge the god of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought.
if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
is the word "forever" literal or figurative?

God does exist here is my nonbiblical reason:
by Curious Kitten in(before you read i hope no one gets offended by the word retarted...that s how i thought when i was 13)my mom and dad are divorced and my father never helped my mother on raising us, so basically she was a single-mother.
he just abandoned my three brothers and me and my mother had to work two jobs all of the time so we never got to see her.
when we did see her it was after school, but all she did was yell at us, make food, and leave to her next job.

I had a similar experience. When I was 23 I experienced a supernatural move of God in my life. I had been praying a lot asking God to make me hate sin. According to the Watchtower, sin is rooted in our will power, not our very nature as the bible states. So, as a consequence I thought I was simply weak.
Anyway, God answered my prayer and I was changed in many ways almost overnight. Since the JW's was all I knew, I became active for the next 8 years. I knew that something had happened to me, but I couldn't exactly describe what. I now know that I experienced an action of the HOLY SPIRIT.
John 16:8 (KJV) And when he is come , he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
I remember a teenager weeping for his sin in the men's room right before we were all going to get baptized. God is more than willing to reveal sin in anyone's life irregardless of what church they go to if they ask for it enough.
However, there is a BIG difference between simply being aware and sorry for sin and actually being pardoned for it and living a life of victory.
The Watchtower has on rare occasions acknowledged the unsaved condition of their members before God.
Whom To Believe?
1. Watchtower Says:
The ...“other sheep”, [non 144,000] are in a different condition. …They are still human
creatures, not even justified, - Wt. 38 p.104, 105
· Bible Says:
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:... Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. - Rom. 5:1, 9 (KJV)
2. Watchtower Says:
“he is not yet giving the ‘other sheep’ the standing of sons….
they address him prospectively as ‘Our Father’.” Wt. 8/15/45 p. 253
· Bible Says:
You are all, in fact, sons of God through YOUR faith in Christ Jesus. - Gal. 3: 26-28 (NWT)
3. Watchtower Says:
…in a “strict Biblical sense Jesus is the ‘mediator’ only for anointed
Christians.” [The 144,000] - Wt.4/1/79 p. 31
“Christ does not act as Mediator of the new covenant toward them,.” - Wt. 2/15/91 pgs. 15-20 par.11
· Bible Says
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus - 1 Tim. 2: 5 (NWT)
Many, JW’s have left the Watchtower organization just by learning that officially according to the Watchtower, Jesus is not their Mediator. Again, the Watchtower has no biblical, New Testament answer for how the rest of mankind gets their sins forgiven.
Great White Throne Judgment
While the bible teaches that all men are judged after they die (Heb. 9:27); they are not all judged for the same purpose. This was one of the most fascinating things I learned about as a new born again believer. The Great White Throne judgment of Rev. 20:11 thru 21:8, says that “all liars” are cast into the Lake of Fire. No one who ends up at this judgment gets a pass since all have lied. This is the Judgment that Christ’s blood saves us from.
The reason why we need a personal Savior, is because God intends to implement a personal judgment.
Judgment Seat of Christ (The Bema Seat - Romans 14:10 & 2 Cor. 5: 10)
This is the believer’s judgment, reserved for those with faith in Christ Alone:
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. - 1 Cor. 3:15
At this judgment, salvation is not the issue. Things that were done FOR CHRIST are rewarded (or not rewarded), as opposed to the GWT judgment where those not found in the Book of LIFE perish. At the believer’s judgment, even if all your works are found to be not useful to God, you yourself “shall be saved”.
For the New Covenant member, with Jesus as their Mediator, the Salvation issue was settled up on Calvary Hill when Christ brought to nothing both the power and the penalty of sin for “whosoever” that would accept his offer. When he made that payment on our behalf, He cried out, “It is finished”! Praise God.

Are we heading for III World War?
by abiather inthe leaders of russia, germany, france and ukraine are slated to meet in minsk (the belarusian capital) tomorrow to discuss a ukrainian peace plan!
some countries such as hollande believe there is going to be a total war.
when they met last year in the same place, they had put forward a peace plan (a ceasefire, withdrawal of artillery, prisoner exchanges and other concessions) that were never fully implemented!

Attempting to change me by public shaming me is a gigantic waste of your time; it could better be put to use by more of your prophetic enlightenment to the masses.
No one is publically shaming you. Then, you actually do what you claim others to do here:
Let’s cut through all of the bullshit regarding this post. It seems that OPs with scriptural content don’t fare so well these days on the forum, as I’m sure you’ve noticed.
You and those like you deserve mocking and ridicule of the strongest order.Get over yourself. You are not that important, neither am I; or is anyone else. If you allow yourself to get bent out of shape over someone's opinion, you are in for a very rough rollercoaster ride in this life.
Peace
