If everyone carried there would be less crime. When at the shooting range you don't hear of mass killings or random shootings. I would support it because it is your constitutional right.

Are the Watchtower HQ washing their hands of congregations?
by uk_ex_jw init seems more and more from what i read that if there is problems in congregations (i.e.
paedophilia) the wtbts are washing their hands of any wrongdoing and leaving the congregation and its elder's to carry the can.. is that how it is now?.

W.H.: I heard that the regular co's were to train local brothers to become co's for each local area which would reduce the expenses to zero for the society.
It is a cost cutting measure. No more cars, car insurance, gas bills, health insurance, cost for lodging, ect. Keep it on the local level and save BIG. This transference is to come about 2014 if I'm not mistaken.

Would this offend you?
by Disillusioned Lost-Lamb ini am remaining "in" for the time being, for my family, so with that said.... i fear my niece (9) and nephew (6) will be assimilated into the borganization therefore i try to covertly undermine their indoctrination hoping that if they choose to be a witless it will be just that, their choice.
regardless of their path, i know my sister and bil will not plan anything for their children's futures, i don't want them to needlessly struggle because they never got the opportunities a normal child wouldve and i believe that, in or out, a higher education at least gives them a chance, i was thinking of secretly starting a small college fund for each of them.. what do you think?
would any of you parents be offended by this?

One for the lurkers, how sure are you that the JWs are right?
by Aussie Oz ingot to pondering on the drive home tonight about some stuff i will say to my son, who at this time is thinking about whether to stay with jws or not.. two babies are born, by chance even on the same day.
one is raised a jw the other as no particular religion at all.
time passes and they stay with their respective upbringings into the late teens.. kid 1 (no religion) gets into normal teenage strife, sleeps around, does a bit of dodgy shit along the way while kid 2 (jw) is pretty much a good jw kid, keeps his nose clean and pleases mummy and the elders a lot but is not baptized.. one rainy night they are both in a freak head on crash with each other and both die.. which one has the better hope?

furthermore, if i attended such a study and the elders found out, would it be considered a daing offense, even though it would be affiliated with any particular church or denomination?
any thoughts?.

There are groups that meet together and discuss the bible on certain days. My sister in law who lived with my wife and I a couple of years ago who is not a jdub and who is originally from texas, would go to bible study at various places in maryland, where we live, and she told me that most of them were jdubs. I guess that could be risky, but I myself would like to do that also. I haven't checked it out fully yet but what if I go and run into another elder I served with. That would freak me out. If there were women there it would be okay with me, because they can give a different objective.
So, someday very soon I'm going to take the plunge and do it.
