Hey Orangefatcat,
It takes a while to get used to AGuest's writing/typing/thought style.

i was reading an interesting novel the other day, it had some religious overtones in the story and then something struck me right out of the blue (no notlightening)that the bible had several gospels that were written about the life of jesus and we know that many others scholars who lived at the time of christ that they wrote about him.
but then i thought to myself, did jesus ever write about himself on some manuscript paper or with a stylus and stone.
how do we know or not know if he ever had a kind of a diary and wrote about his own life.
Hey Orangefatcat,

I agree with TDOGG's statement that:
"Wow! Look at Jehovahs spokesman using the rights of "our democracy" and using the constitution as if it were some sacred document. Too bad they dont bring up what the WT really thinks about the government of the United States and its constitution. How convieniently they can change their song when it suits them...."
And to the above, I want to add what's been mentioned many times in these boards, namely:
That the freedoms and rights the WTS lawyers are demanding for the organization, are not given to the rank&file JWs within the organization!
That in itself upsets me quite a bit!

today, a coworker finished reading my d.a.
letter i have prepared, but not sent yet.. part of my recovery from the damaged caused from membership in the cult has been to be open and honest as to who i am, was and what i was involved in.. so i gave him the letter to read, and he gave it back today, two weeks later, and said:.
"i told my wife, if they ever come knocking at our door, tell them to leave, and if they won't, call the police".

slag off us brits?.
i read all these posts (mainly by a couple of cuddly norwegians) about how the us needs to get it's act together, then there's a flurry of ripostes, the occasional nasty dig, a few generalisations and then the whole thing peters out until some bright spark feels the urge to start off the mischief once again.. well, im sick and tired of belonging to a perfect race and living in a perfect country.
the uk obviously has the best economy, the best soccer teams, the best monarchy, the best teeth, the best cuisine, the best weather, the best tv, the best armed forces, the best penal system, the best paranoids,.
Going back to one of the first posts of this thread....who the heck are the Poms???

Here's the same story as reported by CBC NewsWorld website....note what the reporter says at the end of the article:
"Some Jehovah's Witnesses do not allow the passage of any animal blood, including human, directly into their bodies."
Some? Some? How about all, under threat of disfellowshipping? This reporter doens't have all the facts straight (even though it is true that different blood components are allowed, most JWs don't even know that!!!)

Calgary teen must receive blood transfusions: court
Last Updated Thu, 21 Feb 2002 7:37:29
CALGARY - A Calgary teenager has been ordered to receive life-saving blood transfusions despite her religious objections.
The 16-year-old was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and requires blood transfusions. But as a Jehovah's Witness, she says she cannot accept the blood.
Her parents are split on the issue — her mother supports her decision, but her father wants her to have the transfusions.
Last week, the Alberta government obtained a court order to make the girl a ward of the province so doctors could give transfusions.
On Wednesday, the girl's lawyer David Gnam asked the court to stop the transfusions while the case is under appeal. But the judge denied the application, saying the transfusions won't hurt the patient, and that her right to life overrides her religious rights.
But Gnam insists his client's religious beliefs are being violated.
"This ruling means she'll continue to receive blood transfusions imposed on her against her will by means of restraint and sedation," said Gnam.
The provincial government says it has to intervene in the case because doctors believe the teenager would die within days unless she receives blood.
Iris Evans, the minister of children's services, says her heart is torn for the parents of the teenager.
"They do want, I know, to parent well. It's simply a matter where the state does not believe that the best interests of the child are served while they are not getting treatment," said Evans.
The girl has appealed the order to place her in the province's care. It will be heard April 25-26.
Some Jehovah's Witnesses do not allow the passage of any animal blood, including human, directly into their bodies. The belief comes from a Biblical passage instructing people not to eat the blood of animals.

hey guys!
i've been lurking for 2 yrs and finally decided to post.
seems like y'all need some new blood around here.
Welcome to the boards Dinky...I know you'll find more encouragement, support & acceptance here than from any elder out there (OK OK...I shouldn't generalize...but generally the elders, as Dinky found, don't offer much support in real times of crisis & need)!!!
Tell us more about yourself, at your pace of course.
Cheers,

i just happened to glance a the date as i was posting 2-13-02. one day before valentines day.
i realized that i don't have a valentine.
i subscribe to the idea that it is better to be alone and wish you were with someone than be with someone and wish you were alone.
Alone too...
