If people have evidence of a crime then report it to the authorities. If you don't have evidence then shut the fk up. I'm getting really fked off with these "hashtag warriors" who think it is fine to throw around accusations and that "social justice" trumps the justice system.

Real crimes are being watered down in people's minds due to this type of behaviour. Women and men who are victims are finding it harder to get this behaviour taken seriously due to the amount of 'crime' being revealed online.

A fine example of this is the social media channel being used by members of staff at the English Parliament to complain of sexual abuse whilst at work; yet where are the complaints to the police?

People, quite rightly, are beginning to treat these things as bandwagon complaints from attention seeking idiots.

Darwin's lack of evidence

while making bread this morning and between answering the door and phone calls, i listened on steam radio to the programme in our time with melvyn bragg.

his panel of experts explained how the discovery of thousands of bird fossils has revolutionised our perception of avian evolution.

i recall watchtower literature smugly presenting darwin’s admissions in his origin of the species that the geological evidence for bird evolution is “imperfect” in fact missing.

Shouldn't you learn about the subject you so like to belittle before attempting to offer your opinion on it?

In your world "god did it" may be an easy explanation but out here in reality that answers nothing and helps no one.

The wonder of scientific research

this has possibly been brought up before however here goes.. constant reference is made by many posters to scientific research as being the only way to prove something factual that would otherwise have to be taken on faith.

there actually seems to be "faith" in scientific findings.. my experience over many years is that most scientific research is fake.

nothing oftencomes of the big announcements made to raise more money.. money, prestige, pride, human error, suppositions etc., are rife amongst the scientific community.. i realise that there have been many advances over hundreds of years but humankind is in a mess, although very different to even a century ago.. the medical profession now has vaccinations for everything, antiviral drugs etc.

Blood clots to the brain are super cool; they should have let you out early.

And who needs prostate exams? It's all just hyped up nonsense to make money for those scheming doctors.

JWs often argue that science education isn't necessary because "who do you know that makes use of their science education in their everyday jobs".

I think amecabl is a good example of why science education is important.

How often is this phrase recited by those who do not follow their own advice? Maybe it is due to the conditioning that JWs receive to makes them think that their way of 'researching' reaches the truth of the matter...

No you can not.

Therefore these prints were made sometime after the sediments being deposited and before they were buried under subsequent layers.

Therefore if the deposition rate is such that this will occur within the margin of error for the particular dating method we can date the prints by testing the rocks.

You are wrong because we can date these prints within a margin of error by testing the rocks.

You are basically asking for nothing to be tested (i.e. the lack of rock that makes the footprint visible) and that is very similar to the creationist who demands the names of all transitional species from the beginnings of time to now before they will accept evolution.

That is wrong. The date of the prints is known to an acceptable level of error, the same level of error that is given to all radiometrically dated strata.

As I said above, the prints were not made before these sediments were laid down, they were made afterwards (that much is obvious I hope). They also had to have been made before the surface where the prints are now recorded was buried so deep that no footprints could reach them (that also should be obvious). That gives you the relative time frame for these prints being made. The absolute time frame is given by radiometric dating methods. The relative time frame is less than the margin of error for this type of testing so therefore whatever time frame the date testing gives is accurate for the purpose of understanding these imprints.

This is simple extrapolation of available evidence. The only question of relevance for this particular find is whether they are what they appear to be i.e. human footprints.
