Difficulty fading out

this is my first post on here so i apologize that it is like an essay!.

my husband and i are currently 'fading out' of the truth.

we stopped preaching in may 2016 and limited meeting attendance in january 2017 and stopped completely in june 2017. my main reason for this was my whole life i have been doing things to please others, even getting baptized to please my mum.

Any contact from the local Jws from now on isn't going to be for your 'spiritual' welfare but to sow fear into those remaining in the congregation that you have left.

Other posters have mentioned F.O.G. on here and the elders will try their hardest to ensure you are made an example of, if you let them, to ensure a fear of isolation is put into those who may also feel they can fade away; to remind them that they are obliged to tell on their brothers and sisters if they see anything untoward happening; and to remind them that continuing to be your friend would make god cry...

If you want to be party to their F.O.G tactics then meet with them. If you want no further part in their cult then tell them to F.O.!

Your gender is irrelevant. What you are asking for is in itself is a product of an archaic notion that females should be held to a different standard than their male counterparts. Logically therefore it is you that are living like an 'iron age' throwback and not Cofty who is treating you equally to everyone else who spouts new-age nonsense.

Your comments about evolution only shows your ignorance of the subject, it certainly does not support your attempted point...sigh.

many people point to the irrationality in the depiction of god by the religions and their scriptures, hence jump into the bottomless pit of atheism.

in either camp, god is not a factor because religion is only a means that misrepresents god, hence religionists themselves are atheists (literally, those who live without god).

it is like saying there exists no earth because you found out your friend who taught earth is flat is wrong; or it is like saying mathematics itself is wrong because you found out your mathematics teacher made a mistake.

Define what a god is... You cannot...

If a god exists and you cannot define/prove it then it might as well not exist for all the good it does us.

We know maths exists because we can use it to quantify observations of our environment. This is testable and has a proven track record of accuracy. We also know the Earth is not flat because we can see it isn't. It does not matter what some people may or may not say about it.

You're analogies are awful and have no bearing on what you are trying to prove. You might find your time is better spent elsewhere...

When you believe in and preach bollocks it is harder to be intolerant to other bollocks because the same arguments you would use against their bollocks would also apply to yours. Therefore it is better to tolerate another's bollocks lest attention is drawn to your own...

Atheists and agnostics on the other hand don't have to worry about defending bollocks and are therefore in a better position to call the bollocks believer to account.

Also, I think a stone age man would probably also tell you to fuck off, as I doubt they were dumb enough to accept your nonsense...

If people have evidence of a crime then report it to the authorities. If you don't have evidence then shut the fk up. I'm getting really fked off with these "hashtag warriors" who think it is fine to throw around accusations and that "social justice" trumps the justice system.

Real crimes are being watered down in people's minds due to this type of behaviour. Women and men who are victims are finding it harder to get this behaviour taken seriously due to the amount of 'crime' being revealed online.

A fine example of this is the social media channel being used by members of staff at the English Parliament to complain of sexual abuse whilst at work; yet where are the complaints to the police?

People, quite rightly, are beginning to treat these things as bandwagon complaints from attention seeking idiots.

Darwin's lack of evidence

while making bread this morning and between answering the door and phone calls, i listened on steam radio to the programme in our time with melvyn bragg.

his panel of experts explained how the discovery of thousands of bird fossils has revolutionised our perception of avian evolution.

i recall watchtower literature smugly presenting darwin’s admissions in his origin of the species that the geological evidence for bird evolution is “imperfect” in fact missing.

The wonder of scientific research

this has possibly been brought up before however here goes.. constant reference is made by many posters to scientific research as being the only way to prove something factual that would otherwise have to be taken on faith.

there actually seems to be "faith" in scientific findings.. my experience over many years is that most scientific research is fake.

nothing oftencomes of the big announcements made to raise more money.. money, prestige, pride, human error, suppositions etc., are rife amongst the scientific community.. i realise that there have been many advances over hundreds of years but humankind is in a mess, although very different to even a century ago.. the medical profession now has vaccinations for everything, antiviral drugs etc.

And who needs prostate exams? It's all just hyped up nonsense to make money for those scheming doctors.

JWs often argue that science education isn't necessary because "who do you know that makes use of their science education in their everyday jobs".

I think amecabl is a good example of why science education is important.

How often is this phrase recited by those who do not follow their own advice? Maybe it is due to the conditioning that JWs receive to makes them think that their way of 'researching' reaches the truth of the matter...
