It's happening, the anger and depression are taking over

i haven't posted for a while.

i'm starting to really lose my cool.

i'm angry all the time, it seems at everyone.

Well Tim, for me I really don't know what to say that may be of help, that others have not already said.

I replied to minimus post on " how to handle the blues" maybe that will be of use. I can't say it will.

Anger is a good tool and of all our emotions, it is the one we will have when all the others are used up.

So using it correctly and with control is needed, since it is our most powerful emotion and is dangerous. It is dangerous for us and those around us.

I went through a divorce and a stage of terrible anger. I had to see a psychiatrist and found I also had deep clinical depression. The meds helped and the counsel cleared up some issues of mine and explained the issues of my now x wife. When I could grasp the causes it helped me to understand her actions and my own. It provided some foundation and points of reference from which to balance myself and my feelings and get on with restructuring my life.

I had lost my identity, which is sometimes not understood by others and ourselves and leads to lots of "inner confusion."

Does any of this sound familiar??

It took some time for all this to clear up. I was off the meds in about a year and then just coasted along with the stream of things. I didn't expect to be over it all in just a year or two. It took about 3 yrs to put most of it behind me but I doubt if I will ever be completely unaffected by the cult and the resulting life threatening changes it thrust upon me.

I am sorry to see you going through all this, & wish I could do more for you. All I can add is that time does heal almost all of the damage and things will get better.

Today, I'm Going To Bring The "Crisis of Conscience "Book To My Mother

my mother has been expressing to us how she reluctantly is beginning to see that the organization indeed has some problems.

she is starting to "feel" that things aren't right.

this past thursday, they gave a "marking" talk for my daughter who hasn't attended a meeting in years.

MIN, I THINK NOW IS THE TIME TO BACK OFF. DON'T DISCUSS ANYTHING RE. RELIGION OR INDIVIDUAL JW'S.

TREAT HER WITH LOVE AND KINDNESS AND IGNORE THE THINGS THAT ARE BOTHERING YOU RIGHT NOW.

IN HER MIND JEHOVAH = WBTS ARE OMNIPOTENT AND NOT CAPEABLE OF ERRORS, MUCH LESS OUTRIGHT HYPOCRISY.

AFTER ALL THOSE YEARS, SHE WILL NEED TIME TO MAKE HER "OWN" DECISIONS ABOUT THIS CULT.

GIVE THEM TIME AND HOPEFULLY THE ELDERS WILL HANG THEMSELVES.

What Do You Do When You Get The "Blues"???

every once in a while we all get the blues.

we start overthinking, overanalyzing----we dwell on negatives.

what do you do to get out of this frame of mind?

THERE WERE SEVERAL REPLIES HERE THAT PEOPLE USE AND THEY WORK!

I STUMBLED OVER A DIFFERENT APPROACH.

ACTUALLY I DIDN'T STUMBLE OVER IT. IT WAS SUGGESTED TO ME BY A FRIEND.

HIS THEORY IS, PRAYER OR CONTACING THE SUB CONSCIOUS OR UNIVERSAL CONSCIOUS ARE ALL THE SAME THING.

SO HE SAID TO USE THIS ANY TIME YOU HAVE EMOTIONS THAT ARE UNCOMFORTABLE AND WE CAN NOT FIND A LEGITIMATE CAUSE.

SO SINCE I WAS HAVING FEARFUL FEELINGS OVER MINOR ISSUES, I PRAYED TO MY SELF CONSCIOUS, TO CORRECT THIS RESPONSE AND STOP IT (((UNLESS IT WAS JUSTIFIED.)))

HE SAID TO WORD IT CAREFULLY AND I DID.

I'LL BE DAMNED, IT WORKED! OUR MIND IS A WONDERFUL TOOL AND IF WE CAN FIND THE KEYS TO IT, I FEEL WE COULD DO MORE AND MORE SELF HEALING.

"The path of least resistance..."

if i could have a dollar for the number of times i've heard an "older, experienced" jw talk about young-ones taking the "path of least resistance" and "going to the world" i would be richer than george soros.

truth in fact, for some young witnesses, peer pressure does lead them to forsake the organization and follow (for them) what is the "path of least resistance.

" my experience is that these younger ones generally have only one parent who is a jw and usually "weak" at that.

For me it was easier to stay in the org., until the pressure to concede to their demands and the mental awareness of their hypocrisy grew too large to ignore.

For me that was when the s++t hit the fan. Then the explosion cost me some of my family and my marriage.

This opened up another way of life. Filled with the freedom, love, happiness and understanding that had been preached to me and never delivered by the WBTS.

THE WORLD COULD USE A LOTS MORE OF THIS KIND OF THOUGHTS AND BEHAVIOUR ON THE BEHALF ON FRIENDS AND STRANGERS WHO NEED IT.
