  Well SJG I certainly do not envy you or feel jealous or threatened by you.

  If I have any feelings at all towards you, it would be sympathy.

  Actually I have no feelings at all for you or about you.

  I view you as just another person, with severe low self esteem.

  That feels the constant need to convince others of your abilities and superior intelect.

  A person whose personality is caught as it was as a teen ager ,and has not developed into an adult personality.

  Actually I guess I do have some feelings for you, sympathy and I feel sorry for you.

  Stop telling us how great and knowledgeable you are and you may find a place in the world for

  yourself.

  Nobody needs to know how many businesses you are in charge of or how many households you control and how busy you are in litigation.

  Although I can understand how you may be facing many challenges in court.

  Campaign to stop pro-JW documentary

  i have been concerned since i read on a couple of posts about the pro-jw documentary which is in the works to be publicly aired on pbs.

  this is the website: http://www.knocking.org.

  i studied the website, and it looks extremely favorable to watchtower.

  I sent an e mail to pbs as an ex jw elder and requested they do more research on this upcoming program.

  Referred to Silent Lambs and mentioned the jw's and their positive responses to Hitler until Hitler rejected them.

  I gave them my e mail addy so we will wait and see what happens.

  there is a legal concept called, "femme couverte," which means upon marriage, a woman is absorbed into the person of her husband.

  the 18-century british scholar sir william blackstone said, "the very being of legal existence of the woman is suspended during the marriage, or at least is incorporated and consolidated into that of the husband, under whose wing, protection, and cover she performs everything.

  when i read this i thought, that's what happens to a jw when they get baptized.

  Just who am I ?.

  I was a baby at the breast.

  I am now a child, then a teen ager, then a young man and employed also a cult member.

  I am now a husband then I became husband and a father, later I was only a father and employed.

  I am now a father and a husband again with adult children and out of the cult and retired.

  I am now an old man, father, husband cult free and retired. Slowly approaching my death.

  I have built, changed, lost, regained, adjusted and readjusted my identity many times over.

  I am just me, whoever that might be today.

  I was thinking of forbidding my wife from taking the kids out in service

  the kids are out of school next week.

  my wife is a newly dunked dub, who goes out in service on thursdays.

  I was annoyed by one of the comments AFIN made and was just going to ignore it.

  It was something like" we help each other in caring for the kids when we go out in the service".

  In all my years as a jw and raised two families we almost( never) had any help with the children to enable us to go out in the service.

  That is why one of the elders said "you are not service minded enough" to me, to try to remove me from being an elder.

  Didn't make much difference, I removed myself a few months later.

  Do JWs ever use their donations/WT profits to help the less-fortunate?

  i was a jw for a number of years as a kid, but i don't remember them doing anything to help the community.

  many churches in my area have soup kitchens, clothing/toy drives, and other services to help people in need.

  do jehovah's witnesses ever use proceeds in this way, or are they all used to make more watchtowers, books, and kingdom halls?

  If there is some large damage like a huricane they will make a big to do about helping others. Mostly only active jw's get the help in rebuilding etc.

  Notice that this is a situation that has large press coverage and once again offers them the chance to blow their whistle and tell all who will listen "how caring and helpful they are".

  It seems that if there is nothing in it for the wbts it will be ignored.

  AFIN, as usual you have impressed no one, you have been of no help to cyp in his quest to care for his kids.

  You offer no information as how he and his newly jw wife can keep the marriage together and take the needed care of their children.

  You criticize and and belittle only.

  If you want to be noticed and respected, you will have to offer some real world suggestions on how to deal with a situation such as cyp is facing.

  How can they hold the family intact and satisfy the needs of the husband-wife-and children in all areas including religious teachings and beliefs.

  The point you are at now is you are laughed at or viewed as pitiful.

  AFIN you need to learn to take a rebuff with some dignity and if you have a logic based reason to challenge some one, use it.

  Don't behave like a frustrated angry teenager.

  Wait a minute!! I'll bet that is it!!

  You are just an annoying know it all teenager.

  At least you behave like one.
