Yes the insurance co. checks driving records and your insurance costs go up or down based on that.
Your violation of the law occured on the day the citation was written and the fine is based on that date along with any other actions the court may take.
Do not try to do a snow job on the court when you appear if you choose to not just pay the fine. They do this for a living and will see right through it. It will only annoy the judge and make things worse.

Don,t know Texas laws. When a sheriffs deputy in Calif. We wrote a citation for speeding and a seperate citation for no auto insurance. I assume from your post you were only cited for speeding and not cited for lack of insurance. If so keep your mouth shut and renew your insurance.
If you choose to appear rather than pay the fine, get the court appearance moved to a later time due to "unforseen -out of town at that time- situation arising" . This increases the posibility the officer will not appear in court and it will be thrown out. If he does appear then plead guilty "with an explanation" convince the judge you are a law abiding citizen and show where you have renewed your insurance and MAYBE you will get a lesser fine.
Best advice?? Quit speeding and keep your ins. paid up. Having an accident without insurance is one hell of a mess. If there are injuries or death it is the most horrible mess you can imagine.

i am in the process of attending a judicial committee meeting with three elders because of my "speaking" of "apostate" ideas in the congregation.
they have made responses to some of my thoughts but i can't make a reply in turn.
The questions they ask you are irrelevent.
Creation is organized so does that also make organized crime legitimate?
If you don't mind being df'd ask them the questions. Questions not on biblical issues. But about the organ transplant issue for example. If organ transplants are not a sin now, were they ever a sin? The only correct answer is no. So if never a sin who shares the blood guilt of those who died trying to follow directions from the gb.
If the fractions from blood now acceptable to the wbts are not now a sin, were they ever a sin in the past? Again the only truthful answer is no. Then again who is to share the blood guilt for those who died following the demands of the wbts.
The same thing applies to the military issue, the ban on education, the strong encouragement from the wbts about 1975 being the year of armageddon etc.
Make up your own list of questions with help from the many posts on this forum. Write them down with all the info you will need. Ask them about these things one at a time and don't go to the next until you have an answer from them. Use this forum, ask others for help with the information, print out what you can use.

as you may or may not be aware the poster 'mikepence' has asked people to donate to enable him (and his family?
) to travel to the silentlambs march and to file charges against their alleged abuser.
because he seemed to suddenly become very opposed to the idea of attending the march, i and some others asked him what i thought were simple and reasonable questions.
I had a bad gut feeling about the solicitation from the beginning and did not contribute. The initial requests had too much of a hip hip hurrah only ??% left to go attitude.
But something else puzzled me and I could not come up with it. Last night I woke up with this thought. His children are 10 & 12 yrs.old I believe. He stated in one of his posts that they were extremely angry when they heard that the march would discourage an angry loud protest situation. This was quoted by him to bolster his angry decision.
I find it hard to visualize 10 & 12 yr. olds reacting in this manner to the situation described. that is where my puzzled feelings came from. I don't believe this. I think that was a made up statement.

many of us still have jw family still very much held within the congregation.
personally, i love my family but they do have this uncanny ability at times to absolutely drive me nuts in sheer exasperation.

Re. taking ones complaint to the elders. This is about a person with severe cognitive disonance going to another group with the same problem plus a load of pressure on them.
This situation is filled with suppressed anger and confusion in everyone involved in the family and the organization.
This is assuming of course, that they are intelligent enough to recognize the conflicting claims versus reality at some level.
I believe that this situation exists in every jw family,marriage,relationship. So in other words we can only expect this sort of thing to exist. Because to be in the wbts organization means one is a little or a lot crazy.

i respect bill and what he has accomplished, but i believe that attempts to control the march and the marchers, are misplaced -- even damaging for victims of abuse -- who have been controlled enough!.
the last thing victims of abuse need is to be told to keep up appearances.

If you feel this strongly about things I suggest you not go. Also return all the money you accepted to go on this march or turn it over to SILENTLAMBS.
I can understand your feelings on this subject but not your lack of logical thinking.

okay,hittin the wall now.the downs are more common than the up days at this early point.i read about post cult trauma syndrome, so i understand now why i feel numb, then angry,then weepy all in a nanosecond, like i'm gazing out of a fishbowl at a distorted world,why i'm having nightmares about congregation members.why my brain feels like a fried egg.why i want to run back to the only life i've known for 20 years, even though the thought of stepping foot inside of a kingdom hall causes me to panic.. sooo, can anyone recommend any good movies to rent to help me process some of this?.
i watched matrix twice,after i saw it mentioned on the discussion board.wow!how chilling.it's funny-i watched this movie while still a wavering dub and it disturbed me.now i know why.. i also like chocolat, the scarlet letter (i'm sending my da letter in a red envelope hehe), and the wall(plan to rent this again ).. i'm reading 1984.. i know i probably shouldn't be so focused on this-i need to start getting out there and finding the positive,and some days i manage to do that, but right now i seem to have a need to try and make sense of it all.. any more suggestions?.

In reading your post I recognize the feelings you express. Had the same when I walked and was df'd.
You have gotten some good advice from others already. I would like to add that even though it may feel overwhelming now, it will not last forever. It will take a period of time to get over the feelings of confusion etc. Live your life and pursue your education and have some fun. Make these goals in your life.
Since it took some time to get in this situation it will take some time to get over it. But be assured that you can and will see all this confusion fade away. Never think that it is hopeless..For me it was a great help to read the posts here that logicly pointed out the wrong ideas and beliefs in the wbts. I read these over and over again so as to destroy the false ideas implanted in my mind by this cult.
For me it was more effective to stick to the issues such as the many changes in blood policy and in the organ transplant policy and the military service policy, the disasterous effect of dfing on families marriages and individuals and the many changes back and forth in wbts policies and beliefs. For me these were no brainers. To delve into the various interpretations of bible teachings such as trinity, hell, etc. is for me at least, a more time consuming mental effort than I wanted to put out a that time.
Wish you all the best things that your new life will bring to and offer you.
one thing that i enjoy about this board is the variety of topics that you can enjoy.
there is the "fluff" and there is the serious and there's something a little in between.

sirona is going back into the hospital today for more surgery.
she will be going under general anesthesia to have more biopsies done.. i know its always scary to "go under.
