It helped me clarify my niggling doubts that I am indeed caught up in a cult. Trapped in a group that would cause my deep emotional stress if I were to ever officially leave. I coukdnt bare the thought of being shunned by all my close relatives. Years of bottled up frustration and anger at the GB who will not budge on their cruel policy. Also helped me realise what ex and current jws on here really think about the cult. It helped me realise that jehovahs witnesses are living in a bubble, a sort of twilight zone, blinded by the wool pulled over their eyes.... Even when faced with facts refuse to look behond the curtain. Fear of losing out on everlasting life, fear of armageddon, fear of being shunned. Basically helped me realised I was part of a cult group that uses fear to keep people in with their brainwashing teachings. I'm stuck in my life not being able to move on for 'fear' of breaking up my family. But this site did lead me to crises of conscience. That I can be thankful for

No rational reasoning with cult elders
by UnshackleTheChains inhttps://youtu.be/elm5y8t3pjs.
this is why i can't in good conscience go back to the organisation.
you are pressured to bring others into the cult and then for them to wake up and find they are caught in a web of rules and policies such as shunning.

There is absolutely no reasoning with cult sheeple (elders) who stick to the letter of watchtower law kept in place by the leadership at WT HQ.

If Ever GB Members Deserved To Be Thrown in Jail It's When ...
by smiddy3 init was when the governing body started to disfellow-ship jehovah`s witnesses from taking blood transfusions in an effort to save their lives .. resulting in many hundreds if not thousands of needless deaths of men women and children who by this coercion died from this doctrine.. and to this day they still go unpunished .

Well why does this site even exist then. What's the point in jw discussion if we are all free agents and can freely choose to make our own decisions. So for the past 20 years it's all just been in my head. The watchtower leaders policies that impact on hundreds of thousands of people as we speak are not really to blame. So actually it is us as individuals who made wrong choices all our lives. Incredible. I can't believe I was so dumb. . So I can announce tomorrow to all my pimi family and many relatives that I am officially leaving jehovahs witnesses and if they shun ne for the rest of my life, well it is they who choose to shun me. Nope not the fault of the leaders who pressure and coerce people into carrying out such a behaviour ππππ. So all the children who have died in the past refusing blood. It was the parents fault. So in effect you are saying Jim Jones was not really to blame for the mass suicide in South america. It was his followers who just made a wrong decision πππ€£π€£. So why are we all on this site then most of whom hide our identities if it is us who are making the wrong choices. We have nothing to be afraid of anymore π€. So the GB who know full well exactly the harm their policies do to people given the thousands of letters including mine sent to them over the decades, the numerous negative documentaries and news reports about the cult . They are not to blame. All I can say is like Wow. I wish I coukd say I feel liberated, but then reality sets in and realise I am still in limbo with my life knowing I can't move on because of this fucking cult. Pardon my french, but you can sense my years of frustration. I want to officially leave this bullshit cult. But I love my relatives far more than those evil men at the top who refuse to budge an inch unless you drag them through the courts to make changes to their evil policies! I call them evil because they absolutely know beyond any doubt the suffering and pain their policies have caused, and continue to cause so many people worldwide. I joined the cult freely as you say having been preached to by my mother at the age of 16 years old. I thought back then it was a benign religious group that would fill a spiritual need. Little did I realise just how much my life would be micromanaged from that time on. I've been wanting to leave the cult for years, but can't because of the massive repercussions it would have on my mental health if my family shunned me. I am not strong like some people who can put up with the shunning I'm afraid.

I completely disagree with those who say it's the individual who chooses. I had a major operation without blood because I had been brainwashed and coerced to avoid blood by God's channel. The GB. I believed this teaching to be gods teaching. I was in a state of fear of doing wrong in gods eyes. Was it my choice. Yes, in the brainwashed mind control I was under at the time. I also had 2cweeks of sleepless nights worrying about my 1 year old daughter who also needed a big operation. My wife was black and white on the subject of blood. She unequivickly said she was not to have blood. The people who are solely responsible for coercing and brainwashing people into believing that blood transfusions are wrong rests solely with the governing body. Shame on them. They are absolutely culpable!!

I was 23 when I got baptized. Believed in it Hook line and sinker 100%. This high control group caused me a great deal of torment because of the fact I believed it to be true and that I was never good enough, particularly when I made mistakes.
Now I look back on all the BS I was fed and just can't believe I was so stupid. J dubs, like scientologist are a high control group who ovsseively micro manage people's lives.withtheir pharisaical rules.
Instead of satisfying your spiritual need, they smother it to the point you are put of joining another Christian faith group for fear of a repeat (once bitten........).
Thank God I am no longer attending. At least I can live my life doing the things I like to do, free from the self righteous, judgemental micro managers/elders.

Have you been vaccinated? Have you had any side effects?
by LoveUniHateExams inhi all.. i'm 42 years old.
i have had two jabs of the oxford-astrazeneca vaccine.. after my first jab i experienced flu-like symptoms - shivering, wanted to lie down in a dark room, etc.. i experienced no side effects after my second shot.. how about you?.
how many jabs have you had?.
-
UnshackleTheChains
Had my 2 Pfiizer jabs. All good so far. The only concern I have is in connection with the mind control theory. On several occasions I went to scratch my ear only to find I'm scratching my arse instead π

Derek Chauvin - The Right to a Fair Trial
by Simon inanyone following the derek chauvin trial?.
if you are actually following it, not just listening to the media, you will likely realize that there is a huge gap between what is going on in court and what is being reported in the media.. if the trial was fair, i think he should be acquitted.
there is plenty of reasonable doubt about the cause of death (his dealer doesn't want to testify because he could be guilty of 3rd degree murder for selling him a fatal amount of fentanyl) and even doubt over whether the officer even had his knee on the guys neck or did anything counter to what they were meant to do as per policy.. but is it fair?

How Many Masks Will You Wear?
by minimus inthere are recommendations that we should start doubling up on masks.
some have even suggested that tripling masks would even be better!
whatβs your opinion of wearing numerous masks?
-
UnshackleTheChains
Well as someone who caught covid along with my 2 colleagues at work and fortunately, although had mild symptoms though still very painful, took me 4 days to recover with very painful muscle ache in my upper back, I would highly recommend wearing a mask when in crowded areas like stores.
The UK variant is now in America and it will hit hard according to Michael osterholm who is an epidemiologist. People need to listen to scientific facts, not quacks. I remember watching Mr osterholm on Joe rogan back in early March 2020 and everything he said back then has happened in the US. He estimated that about 400000 people would likely die in the US by the end of 2020 and he wasn't far off. Wear your mask everyone and help save lives.
