  in reality my experience with the witnesses is that they really don't bother me or bother with me which suits me just fine....are you "bothered" by the witnesses at this point of your life?.

  I go to meetings now and again. I am now at the stage of past caring. I just keep my views to myself. I do what I want and take each individual (witness/non witness) as they come. I can't be bothered getting worked up over them at this stage of my life.

  I would however like to see the GB brought to account for their more damaging policies and erroneous teachings that have impacted negatively on the lives of many many people earth wide.

  The Truman Show, a movie that JW's must hate.

  the truman show is on tbs tonight and i know, it's been mentioned before here, but it has to be a movie that gives jw's the creeps.

  jw's know something is not right in the wt fantasy land, but until they have that epiphany, that the wt has lied to them, the jw is just left with a niggly feeling of "something is just not right" in the back of their mind.

  now when jim carrey- truman burbank- figures it out and becomes self aware of the lie, everyone around him tries to redirect his focus away from his epiphany , then convince him he is the only one who see's a problem.

  I had to resurrect this thread.

  So many of us went through this when we were first beginning to wake up. I remember the fear, the guilt and paranoia I felt when first looking up 'apostate' sites and reading ray Franz's book crisis of conscience that same year.

  I remember walking into the hall each week thinking I was the only one who new the real truth about the organisation. I had absolutely no one to talk to about it. It was such a weird experience, similiar to how Truman was feeling. Everything suddenly felt fake.

  Now when I walk into the kingdom hall it feels like I am walking into a parallel universe. On the one hand, everything goes on as normal at the meetings as if nothing has ever happened within the organisation. No one ever EVER mentions anything negative about the organisation. EVER!

  On the other hand, all over the media, we find that the organisation is perceived by many as a cult, a high control religion, a captive religion. I read daily (on my smart phone) about the various controversies and scandals both past and present within the organisation.

  Sadly for many of us who are awake, WE are the ones who are portrayed by our own family and friends as having a problem. God's organisation (the WTB&TS) is where we can only ever feel safe. Many of us are in our very own Truman show sitting on the beach staring out over that endless sea.

  short info on interesting changes to the major conventions this year: there will be a new security concept that will be implemented at all regional conventions in 2017.. similar to other major events (e.g.

  festivals, concerts), there will be admittance controls in stadiums.. - at each entrance, there will be a massive presence of attendants that look at each visitor.. - there will be pocket checks at the entrance.. - suspicious persons are no longer left on the convention grounds.. - suppliers to the stadium will be intensively inspected by attendants.. - there will be a special sign for attendants that must enter the stadium before 7.30 am.

  all others (even all attendants) can only enter after 7.30 am..

  katie is a former pioneer who suddenly stopped attending meetings and managed to be left alone by the elders.

  Very interesting story. I think it depends on how seriously individuals believe what the GB say.

  My own mother used the words 'I have to remain loyal to Jehovah' when I said what would she do if I ever chose to 'officially' leave the organisation; and know full well she would shun me. I remember sighing when I heard her say that.

  I felt like saying what on earth did you get me into all those years back when I was a young gullible teenager.

  This is why so many members take what the GB say with a pinch of salt nowadays.

  The Societys extreme admonition regarding marriage and children in the past was nothing more than an unnesessary intrusion into people's lives..

  The GB have created a micro management culture that has and will continue to back fire on them as time goes on.

  knew a couple--many years ago---on their honemoon---he gets up in the hotel bedroom--middle of the night---gropes around in the dark feeling for the wash basin......thinks hes found it--pees in it--gets back to bed..

  Next morning his new wife finds her open vanity case is all wet inside.
