  (Not so) Subliminal Shave Your Beard Message

  i'm in the middle of dissecting the june 2017 jw broadcasting video.. in the first minute, they summarize a story about a guy who apparently was a one-time bad ass (showed a picture of him with a beard while posing on a chopper).

  then, they show him shaving at the exact same moment the narrator is saying how he regained "a clean conscience".. this no-beard obsession by the jws is beyond nuts.. .

  I don't know why the brothers don't simply end this ridiculous rule by growing their beards en masse. That would end this man made rule very quickly.

  Saw it last night. The guy was genuine in wanting to change his bad ass ways. Fair plays to him. The shaving the beard thing just had to be put in subtly didn't it. Oh well, Rutherford still lives!!

"when your own thoughts are forbidden, when your questions are not allowed and our doubts are punished, when contacts with friendships outside of the organisation are censored, we are being abused, for the ends never justify the means.. when our heart aches knowing we have made friendships and secret attachments that will be forever forbidden if we leave, we are in danger.. when we consider staying in a group because we cannot bear the loss, disappointment and sorrow our leaving will cause for ourselves and those we have come to love, we are in a cult .... when family and friends are used as a weapon in order to force us to stay in an organisation, something has gone terribly wrong".. deborah layton.

  7 years ago i was this "ultra spiritual elder".

  you name it, i was visible all over the region.

  i was the coordinator, on the convention committee, rbc, had a talk at every convention and assembly, regular pioneer, etc.

  Hi James Jack. As your experience shows. It doesn't matter how high you jump in this organisation. Rules must be followed according to the book of GB.

  It's extraordinary how someone of your stature can be cast aside as an elder at the drop of a hat.

  The Societies rules are smothering people's faith. Their endless rules have smothered mine.

  All the best to you and your family. I hope you manage to keep your faith in God and not allow men's rules to get in the way. Thanks for sharing your experience.

  What woke you up?

  for me, i think it was just the right time as i was starting to wake up on other fronts as well (anyone who had went through these will know what i mean).

  but it started when i was looking for what info goes on a publisher card, which led to me reading one person's story (ex bethelite) which was pretty crazy to an all-in jw but who trusts those apostates...?.

  then i started watching videos on cults, as if my subconscious was trying to tell my concord mind something... when i saw a particular one about a young man in lds getting ready to start their 2 year preaching campaign, including a school, social activities etc, i realized that i couldn't tell the difference between the folks of this mormon cult and the jws (save for some religious differences) .

  I remember a long time ago being asked to attend a study by a sister. Reluctantly I went. She thought it best she take the study as I was only standing in.

  She then explained her reasons why she had to wear a head covering and proceeded to wrap her scarf around her head. She didn't think to wear a suitable hat of some sort. Nope. She decided to look like a female version of the maharaja. The guy just looked at her and must have thought what wacko.

  i ask this question for good reason.

  let's face it, despite all the books, videos, forums, court cases, hearings, protests etc that have been exposing the society for many years.

  jw.org continues to roll on almost 'it seems' unscathed.. for example, just walk into any kingdom hall there is not so much as a whisper about anything that has been exposed outside of jw land.

  For example, just walk into any Kingdom Hall there is not so much as a whisper about anything that has been exposed outside of JW land. JW.org continue to roll out their slick broadcasts unhindered. It's all so bizarre!

  anyway, it jogged my memory and reminded me of something i thought i would pass on to you.back in the late 80s i had the opportunity to chat with ray franz on the phone and i asked him about this very thing.he didn't say yes or no to russel's masonic connection but what he said was something like, "he is buried in the masonic section of the cemetery so draw your own conclusion.

  I find it interesting that masonic halls had been used quite regularly in early times. Even the fact that our place of worship is referred to as a Kingdom 'Hall'.

  I also find it interesting how Jesus is down played in the society s literature, even though the scriptures says he is the way, the truth and the life.

  That YHWH is referred to as the likely more inaccurate term JEHOVAH.

  Freemasons use masonic halls, use the term JEHOVAH and downplay Jesus Christ. Interesting similarities.
