  well, it looks like the axe has finally fallen on our kh library.

  during a deep clean of the local kh, a brother suddenly informed everyone 'whikst cleaning' that all the old books including bound volumes of the watchtower etc was to be chucked in the skip.. from what i heard, some were taken aback by this and quite annoyed that no announcement was made; that no one was given the choice of taking some of these books home to keep.

  i mean the entire collection of studies in the scriptures and others that go back an entire century.

I mean the entire collection of studies in the scriptures and others that go back an entire century. Chucking away their heritage like complete trash..

  What a travesty and how very bizarre.

  Sadly, little do these brothers realize that the devious WT leadership in their ivory tower are trying to cover up all the embarrassing BS found in these books. George Orwell's 1984 springs to mind. After all watchtower is the 'ministry of information'!

  Well....why is there the need for this forum? Why do individuals hide behind avatars as afraid to reveal who they truly are? What will happen if you decide to 'officially' leave Jehovah's witnesses? I let you decide if Jehovah's witnesses are a cult or not?

  hi everyone.. i would love to collate the experiences of those who decided to disassociate.

  the reason i am asking this question is that i have been in turmoil for a very long time as to whether i remain a fader or whether to bring closure on my membership with the watchtower organisation.. it is for this reason i would like to read about some of the experiences of those on this forum who went down the route of disassociation.

  if could answer the following.

  I didnt dissociate but i'd just like to thank every one who took the time here to tell their story, they were really moving and insightful. Its not always easy to, I know, as it can bring up some painful feelings

  How long did it take you to decide to disassociate?

  How has this impacted on you?

  Has your mental health in any way been affected since you disassociated? Eg if being shunned by family.

  Do any of your current JW relatives associate with you? And if so to what degree?

  Do you feel your life is better now that you are completely free of the watchtower?

  Do you ever get panic attacks about Armageddon or that you left "the truth"?

  Shunning and the Equality act 2010

  for those of you here in the uk, just wondered if the shunning policy within the jehovah's witnesses contravenes the equality act 2010.. .

  for example, as the ibsa comes under a religious ethos, it would considered a service of sorts, and if it were proven they discriminated against someone due to difference in beliefs, could a case be brought against them.. .

  for example, if an individual (a jdub)) employs quite a number of witnesses; he decides to leave the watchtower and join another church; but then all his employees suddenly leave as they follow the watchtower line and shun him.

  i have to say, having watched the leah remini episode on jehovah's witnesses, i found it to be incredibly powerful.. the shocking stories told by the panelists will reverberate around the world for years to come.

  my heart goes out to these people and indeed everyone who has suffered because of watchtowers cruel and flawed policies.

  leah remini is a brave and courageous woman to take on these high control groups and expose them for what they truly are.

  just got done watching this program and what impress me the most was the bravery of those x-witnesses to sit there on national tv and tell everyone how the wt.

  cult affected them.

  no hidden faces, no avatar names and no disguise.

  whilst sat in my car at some temporary traffic lights recently i saw what looked like a co doing his bit of encouraging a young boy in the f.ministry , he had his hand on this young boys back (kinda distant for a dad) i smelt a co immediately!

  lol.

  the road was narrow, and then low and behold!
