About 15 years ago, a young scantily clad woman came to the door. She was clearly getting a thrill seeing myself and another brother get rather embarrassed. Quite funny thinking back π

Today's Text - Justifying The Increase Of Annointed Ones!
by Divergent inthursday, august 31. jehovah knows those who belong to him.β2 tim.
2:19.. in recent years, we have seen an increase in the number of those partaking at the memorial of christβs death.
that trend contrasts with the decrease in the number of partakers that we saw for many decades.

why jw's commit suicide?
by notalone inwe all know the rate of suicide is high among jw's.
my question is this- was there some subliminal messages that encourage this.
i was a born in and my entire life i would have these thoughts that could come out of nowhere,"kill yourself.

I think a big factor to it all is that you just can't be yourself. This creates frustration as bottle things up all the time. You can't speak freely. So when life's problems come along, you make mistakes, you can't live up to Watchtower standards..who do you confide in? What will be the repurcussions?
That's what causes anxiety and depression for so many, particularly among the youths.

Bethel Lurkers-A woman's Heartfelt phonecall regarding the organisations inhumane shunning policy!
by UnshackleTheChains ini hope bethel lurkers at warwick listen to the rational viewpoint of this australian woman in the recording below.
she virtually pleads with an australian branch member as to the reasons why shunning is inhumane and how unfair it is that individuals are being held captive within the watchtower organisation.
they can't simply leave officially without the threat of being shunned by friends and family members.. typically, the branch member responds in a robotic like manner, sticking rigidly to watchtower policy.. https://youtu.be/sc_t60ax5k8.

Stuff me! she goes from one angle to another and back again did she know why she phoned in the first place
Zeb
I think she got her point over quite clearly. Yes she rambled on a little. But it really highlighted her fears/impact if she did dissacociate. She expressed herself from the heart how unfair the shunning policy is.
For many of us (me and my mother included) who were proseletized when a witness showed up at our door, we were never informed of this policy when we were studying.
The woman in her phone call quite rightly highlighted that the organisation is a captive religion. No amount of rational reasoning seems to get through to the watchtower corporation as this phone call proved.

Question...
by ironsnake656 inwhen you were an active member in the jwland, did you expect to receive any kind of help from a brother/sister, but they did not help you?
when i was in the jwland, i expected and was my belief that any brother/sister will help you in time of need, distress or trouble, because we were part of a "lovely organization".
but countless of times when i needed and asked for help, nobody from the org helped me.

I will never forget the time I experienced mild depression and my life was in the doldrums as a young man. I was living on my own and clearly needing some practical support in the way of advice about my bills, food, etc.
Elders advice- 'Auxilliary Pioneer'!!!

I would actually expect much more from a multi-billion dollar "Christian" religion. How about separate charitable corporations set up to help disadvantaged members of the community? Nope. Not even close
I think xjwsrock puts it really well in a nutshell.
If you think about it, not only have people no time in general for helping out individuals, what support mechanisms are in place for anyone! Eg There are no mother and toddler groups within the organisation, no youth groups within the organisation...... nothing!
And then they wonder why sister single with 2 kids or brother teenager isn't at the meetings regularly. It isn't hard to see why.

Tried it once, just for kicks.
Nothing but users, psychos, and rejects. IMO
I always said there are only two types of JDub female. Those who are married, and those who are not, for very good reason. That is MY experience..yours may be different.
Let the thumbs down begin!
Lol FedUpJW
It's probably safer to go down the old fashioned route of setting up a walking group and invite everyone from a few congregations nearby in the hope of meeting a lady. That way you avoid the users, the psychos and the rejects lol πππ

It's probably a good way for some individuals to meet given the fact that JW's in general have no social life.
