Library now cleared out

well, it looks like the axe has finally fallen on our kh library.

during a deep clean of the local kh, a brother suddenly informed everyone 'whikst cleaning' that all the old books including bound volumes of the watchtower etc was to be chucked in the skip.. from what i heard, some were taken aback by this and quite annoyed that no announcement was made; that no one was given the choice of taking some of these books home to keep.

i mean the entire collection of studies in the scriptures and others that go back an entire century.

I think it's absolutely disgraceful. Its like they are ashamed of their heritage. Its a bit like a wealthy American family erasing their family history because they didn't like their poor/humble beginnings that might appear embarrassing.

I personally think this is sacrilege. Its also shameful. As an organisation if they are the truth, they should be proud of their heritage. But they aren't, instead, they 'appear' (by their actions) to be embarrassed. Imagine the Catholic church throwing all their ancient books out. Not a chance.

It proves beyond all doubt the WT society is a bullshit organisation trying to hood wink its members.

They are bullshit artists and charlatans. I feel so sorry for their members who throw themselves into this BS.

Well, the good lady kept some of the books as did others. Can't believe I've got these as part of my collection 😉👍

What a travesty and how very bizarre.

Sadly, little do these brothers realize that the devious WT leadership in their ivory tower are trying to cover up all the embarrassing BS found in these books. George Orwell's 1984 springs to mind. After all watchtower is the 'ministry of information'!

Disassociation experiences please

hi everyone.. i would love to collate the experiences of those who decided to disassociate.

the reason i am asking this question is that i have been in turmoil for a very long time as to whether i remain a fader or whether to bring closure on my membership with the watchtower organisation.. it is for this reason i would like to read about some of the experiences of those on this forum who went down the route of disassociation.

I didnt dissociate but i'd just like to thank every one who took the time here to tell their story, they were really moving and insightful. Its not always easy to, I know, as it can bring up some painful feelings

Do you ever get panic attacks about Armageddon or that you left "the truth"?

Shunning and the Equality act 2010

for those of you here in the uk, just wondered if the shunning policy within the jehovah's witnesses contravenes the equality act 2010.. .

for example, as the ibsa comes under a religious ethos, it would considered a service of sorts, and if it were proven they discriminated against someone due to difference in beliefs, could a case be brought against them.. .

for example, if an individual (a jdub)) employs quite a number of witnesses; he decides to leave the watchtower and join another church; but then all his employees suddenly leave as they follow the watchtower line and shun him.

i have to say, having watched the leah remini episode on jehovah's witnesses, i found it to be incredibly powerful.. the shocking stories told by the panelists will reverberate around the world for years to come.

my heart goes out to these people and indeed everyone who has suffered because of watchtowers cruel and flawed policies.
