Will Familiarity Breed Contempt For The Governing Body At Bethel?
by frankiespeakin inwe all heard the saying 'familiarity breeds contempt' do you think this bunch of new boys on the governing body are breeding contempt with all they rub shoulders with at bethel?.
i think anthony morris with his 'i'm the corporation atitude' got to rub a lot of people the wrong way, paranoid stephan lett with his xenophobia(fear of strangers) and his wide open big mouth when speaking must cause a lots of contempt for himself, and lets not for get to mention gerrit losch and his hate of sports like football gotta make a lot feel like he's a self-righteous loonie, herd got to be the envy of many black brothers at bethel not to mention his simple mindedness and an eye for good looking sisters.. splane seems to be an irion fist in a velvet glove, the rest just seem to fade into the wood work, but these are just my opinons.. i'm thinking with all this armageddon always close but never materializing many of the old timers just look on with contempt as these new guys do their clumsy half witted best to guide the corporation through these ruff waters of unfufilled expectation and dashed hopes..

Billy the Bethelite, " When Patterson was being constructed, there was talk of the GB moving up there. Once they saw things going up, that decision was changed."
There was much resistance of some of the older bethel heavies to moving out of NY city. They must have passed or were sent home.LOL
When they built Patterson they could only afford (1) $50 million plus++ project in the U.S. and most other projects overseas were slowed downed to a crawl until money loosened up. I know, because I was overseas fighting to get money for a project.
But, (with the help of the Holy Spirit) they got the building permits for the 30 story building in Brooklyn and the building permits for Patterson. Higher ups were asked since they paid money for and requested permits to do both, the 30 story and Patterson, what happens if they receive permits for both?
The answer was that they would build both, as it was obvious that Jehovah was behind their efforts. Shortly after finishing the 30 story building in brooklyn, they sold it. Hummmm. Why didn't they sell all the other small properties? instead of the 30 story? They could have consolidated their operations and had a minimal footprint in NY City.
If the Gilead school is basically shut down, MTS is also run on the branch level, why even have Patterson? They've cramed my butt before into 12" seats between two fat elders for elders school. (Uuugh, the chaffing on my hips.) What gives, if it is a "Education Center" it must serve as something even though they have drastically cut their "education". Maybe when the PO's come in they are supposed to be so impressed by the material things that their worship of the GB is deepened????? which results in unequivical support in the congregations? Go Figure. I'll bet that most of their building except the orginal farm could be sold as Universities or as developed commercial property.

Your Top 5 - Most Harmful JW Teachings
by Scully inwe all know that the doctrine and dogma of the wts is completely false, so i'm not even going to include topics like "trinity" or "gehenna" or anything like that in my personal list.. but i'd like to see what other people list as their top five most harmful jw teachings.. #5. females in the congregation are inferior to males.. #4. you must override your personal conscience in favour of wts rules, even when you know it's wrong.. #3. shunning disfellowshippedtm and disassociatedtm individuals, without being allowed to form your own opinion or hear their side of the story, even when it is a family member or close friend, this teaching destroys families and results in far too many people taking their own lives from the agony of being rejected by the only people they have ever had relationships with.. #2. forsaking higher education, well-paid employment and planning for retirement.. #1. the no-blood rule has cost more lives since it was first introduced by rutherford than jonestown, 10 times over..

Scully,
I think your list pretty well nails it. I would say one thing that disturbs my wife and I is that of not helping out in the present system to make it better, just be good "true christians" and preach (leave the WT and A at the doors) They preach staying separate from the world, don't lift a hand to help anyone that is in need, and bash anyone that would get an education that would possibly enable them to help thousands in difficulty. This I don't understand.

Hello and my exit story from WTS
by free2Bme13 ini thought it was fitting for me to share my freedom from the witnesses story on independence day weekend.. i dont have any secret info, just experiences that happened to me and started to open my eyes.. i was a third generation, raised in the truth kid who was never supposed to be born, and then never supposed to graduate high school.
ive now been out of high school longer than i was in school.. the beginning of the end started a little less than a decade ago.
i was late 20s at the time.

I've been following this thread, (thanks again for your experience) and it makes me realize what freedom I have to not jump through the hoops of a weeks worth of a CO's increased activity listening to their harassment of the sheep, breathing fire and threats, whipping us to continue towing the line, beating us up emotionally, and to top it all off after after about two weeks later hear from the accounts servant that the C.O. had x dollars in expenses and we need to pass a resolution to cover them. There were some CO's kinder than others, but when the jerks came around I counldn't help but think, "and we are paying for this whipping?".

free 2bme, Thank you for your experience. Whenever someone writes their personal experience down and it has the ring of truth like so many others experiences it verifies the other experiences, I think it resonates a loud warning to anyone willing to read the stories.
I really appreciate your thought on CO's and the different ones you mentioned. Previously, as an elder, we (elders) would put our little "just eat their crap smiles" on our faces and know that the CO was to leave at the end of the week. I was like you, one day my family and I just left. Thanks again:)Let Freedom Ring!!!

"they also said they would bring trade of approx ~$100 per visitor to the site"
That's not bringing much to the area considering the price of a fill up of gasoline. Oh, the visitors are supposed to donate all their money to WT and leave with nothing.

Post 6: My brother turns on me now - Possible Legal advice
by sosoconfused inthis is a letter i received today with my brother turning on me based on something that was told to him by my crazy mother.
he works for me, yet has not spoken a word to me in months because he is a self-righteous little dick.. .
what i would like to know from someone who knows the law, is it possible i can sue him if he pressures people to not work with me because of my religious beliefs????

Sosocofused, I posted on another forum that your brother has effectively silenced you to (witness in the family) and witnesses. He now has control over what they hear of your "condition".
Personally, I would get him out of the business immediately and I say not even wait for a two weeks notice, he's fired. (Or he quit, then get out of here). Disloyalty to an employer is not something to play around with.
I've been through a similar situation after my dad died, with a fleshly brother that wanted the business and me out. But I had been there much longer than his few months, I had more stock, etc. So he started the character assasination machine going on in the congregation and the family. He was creative in making up lies, it was ridiculous, but effective. Interesting, witnesses play dirty, and use their speech to slander whoever, they will steal out the back door, slander you to customers and clients, and then slander you to your family of how bad you are. Witnesses eager to hear the gossip will believe anything without supporting evidence.

Tech 49: My Tripping Point, Part 2
by Tech49 inafter reading some of your other posts and experiences, especially regarding the elder's school, i am reminded of part 2 of my experience down the rabbit hole.. the last elder's school i attended was in 2011. i remember vividly the 3 day event.
i remember vividly being bored out of my mind!.
as has been stated by others, the hours of monotone counsel and examples and experiences were continually beating on your brain with the usual stuff:.

Tech 49,
I appreciated your experience, and I believe everything you said happened as I have been there also. A few changes with the story and name changes but it is the same. I agree with you, I thank these bat crazy people for treating me so badly because it helped me wake up. And now years down the road I count my blessings. Thanks for sharing Tech
