  Can I get a Merry Christmas?

  its almost 9:30pm christmas night.

  due to hubby being a jw i am never invited to any holiday dinners.

  christmas, easter, thanksgiving ect.

  hey i'm new here, i've been reading up so much here and on other sites about tatt and it has really settled a nagging feeling of doubt within me.

  truly i have been lied to and have been trapped in this cult.

  i've been suffering with depression, anxiety, attempted suicide, hospitalization, anti depressants, loneliness all this while being in supposedly surrounded by "the happiest people" on earth.

  Have JWs and other Christians completely missed the point of Matthew 24:4-8?

  many people think those verses are suggesting that the wars, earthquakes, food shortages, etc are all a sign that the end is imminent.

  however, a careful examination of the context seems to suggest that jesus was actually forewarning his followers not to draw such a conclusion from such events.

  Oubliette, yes this is the very letter I was looking for. Thank you. I was not able to find it on the UN website, I wanted to show it to someone but I didn't want to necessarily use JWFacts as they might object. I thought they might accept it easier if it were on the UN website.

  we are all set for a lovely xmas week and nice holiday, but this image is indellably printed in my brain and i cannot erase it.. .

  it's from the bible teach book, chapter 16 para 11. i did that many bible studies and trained them how we need to make a stand for true worship and not ever return to pagan practices.. so now over this season of good will, and fun i have a literal bitter taste.. are you having flash backs?

  WildKate, the old saying, "as the twig is bent so grows the tree", I think is applicable. I have wondered if after leaving wtfantasy lang will we ever be "right". I know what you mean by seeing or hearing things that "trigger" the memory. I talk with friends that have been out from 8 years to 25 years and they still are somewhat dealing with residual issues, they would never go back, but just residual issues. Bless your day, and may you not have a guilty conscience.(((((Hugs)))))

  as regards pursuing higher education?

  the co continued...you know in view of all the counsel from the slave regarding the dangers.

  I have wondered about this possibility also. They know they will take a membership plunge with the death of the older ones, who now are making up a large portion of the JW demographics in the U.S. Perhaps they want a smaller client base that can just disappear in history like the Millerites of the Great Dissappointment of 1844. Reports from active family still in is that apathy is a major problem.
