WATCHTOWER (Madoff) with your investment
by Terry inif i were convincing you to invest your life savings in a guranteed investment based on "insider" information that made the payoff a sure thing.
and you acted to seize the opportunity---nobody would blame you for taking the plunge.. if i assured you....reassured you....repeatedly that the payoff and reward was "any day now" you might well hang in there for a long time.. .
but, at a certain point, your patience and trust would wear thin and a serious request for proof of legitimacy would hang heavy in the air.. .

As Clint Eastwood said in Outlaw Josie Wells, "We all lost a lot in that damn war".

The investment in a REAL FUTURE is worth what has already been lost. You never get back what is already lost anyway.
Good Point!

Watchtower Ruins a Wedding
by Marvin Shilmer inwatchtower ruins a wedding .
today i added a new article to my blog addressing the sad consequence to individuals lives the result of watchtowers infantile doctrinal policy making.
its the story of a man (and a woman) disfellowshipped for something watchtower later on decided was not immoral.

Oh, another story similar: In the 70's a husband was homosexual. The wife goes to the elders. The husband confesses to the elders homosexuality. However, since it was not "adultery" between a man and woman, then the woman was not free to marry. Any stories of this situation?

Marvin,
Thank you for this information.
I am curious if you ever had a situation where one mate committed adultery, confessed this to the elders so that the other mate could be free to marry, and then the "innocent" mate said that they forgive the spouse? In the particular situation that I was referring to the adulerating mate did not want to be married to the current mate any longer, but wanted the mate to have a scriptural reason for divorce. The elders pushed the fact that if the innocent mate forgave the adultery, then it did not matter if the adulterer did not want to continue the marriage. Therefore, each mate was not free to marry. Thoughts?

What Some Loyal JW's Are Saying About The Oakland Case.
by Bangalore inform the pro-jw site jwtalk.
this is such a ronald mcdonald court case.
i can't believe what i am reading.. lie: "the lawsuit alleged that watchtower had a policy that instructed elders in its jehovah's witnesses congregations to keep reports of child sex abusers within the religious group secret to avoid lawsuits.".

The confidentiality card. Wt makes all these rules about servants not being in a room alone with a women no matter; but they can't say be sure to go with you children to the bathroom, in field service, elders servants should not be in a car alone with a child not theirs? etc?
Obviously, the pediphilia threat has not been a priority. Why can't they make man made rules that children are only to be alone with their parents? Of all the personal business that the borg wants to get into, including saying what can and cannot take place with a married couple, but they can't have more information on protecting their own children? I know of several Awake magazines on it, but how many times have they considered it in the wt study? I don't have a wt library any more so maybe someone else knows.

Interesting the things Jw's keep confidential and what they do not. For all the people, including elders that can take a comment on a paragraph or talk, screw it around to what their pet pieve is, but cannot do the same with comments about pediphiles is interesting.
We probably have all heard a talk on the school or "public talk" having one theme and the elder will start talking about one thing, get totally off the outline, and stand up on his soap box about what "he felt the congregation" needed.
Over the years I have confronted several brothers. One explained that his talk reflected the needs of the congregation. I replied, "the needs of the congregation gets 15 minutes a month". "If you want to make practical application it has to be within the subject that you are talking." Because I was tired of the loaded comments based on information that I believe was from his wife, I even said, "the FDS decides what the need of the congregation is". HaHa.
Even text comments at the field service meeting could be twisted around.
Several sisters in the congregation had cosmetic surgery or other cosmetic proceedures and that information went through the congregation like wild fire. I don't believe it is anyone's business, and it did not hurt anyone. But with pediphiles Jw's have to keep the confidentiality.???

Terry this is a great analogy. I discussed this analogy with several family members and asked about their feelings with regard to the long line of unfulfilled predictions. Two indicated that they had too much involved to walk away now. One also said, "I have wasted my whole life."
It is humbling and difficult to acknowledge that we were as WTBTS calls, "Hoodwinked." I've been at the point for the last 8 years that I'm not investing another dime into the WT's Ponzi scheme, like throwing good money after bad. I was able to fade after a few years.
I just want to move on. I do think of all the money wasted on this Wt dream. If all that money had been used to help the poor, feed the hungry etc, it would have made the world a better place.
Everytime I hear them talking about how immenient things are, it's like Berne Madoff sending another bogus investment summary telling me how much my investment has improved. So many witnesses have put down hard earned money, sweat, sacrifices of all sorts, for imaginary payoffs, not to mention the their lifes energy.
Thanks, again.

I agree we are dealing with victims hurting victims. Some of the company men feel it is there duty to uphold a certain standard with little tolerance. Some of these corporatmen have been in the traveling work and are in the 60's or 70's. What else can they do with the skills they have and being removed from the real world for so many years? Whether they like it or not they have to hold the company line because they too are captives.
I have struggled with the forgive and forget also. I want to move on and eventually say I'm and ex-ex jw. But that will take years and I do not believe that my thinking will ever be normal. As far as the corporation, I cannot imagine what their secret agenda is why they propagate such lunacy. Their stand against education, the stand against any kind of association other than service and meetings even with their own members. The total botch job with child molesters.
For me it doesn't matter that they have modified their stand against child abuse, but I still think it is inadequate. I could go on, but they remind me of the old snake oil salesmen that traveled to small towns. The first night they fleeced half of the town, the next night they fleeced the second half of the town, and the by the third night the whole town is trying to kill them and they are run out.
I would like them to be devasted and eaten up just like the whore they speak of in Revelation, never to inflict their pain on anyone. I don't think they will ever be as they were in the prime of their cycle, and they have no other place to go except to become more contolling, more secrete, stepping up the guilt. I think that as long as they have be barking the end of the world that their will be an increasing number of who are awakend.(Hopefully)
Could I forgive the German actions in WWII?

WTBTS Elder & Ministerial Servant Problems
by JW GoneBad ini attended a recent ministerial servant k m school on the east coast and the main school instructor mentioned among other things (part entitled: 'objective of the km school course') that the total number of ministerial servants is seriously less than it should be.
in times past the ratio of m ss to elders was much more than it is today.. in the u.s. apparently the total number of elders is 88,500+ as opposed to m ss 65,000. the numbers show & numbers don't lie: the society is running out of spiritual men.
the instructor stated that this is a new downward trend that has (in so many words) the society worried.. the next speaker (part entitled: 'why we must be spiritual men') added that in his years as a traveling servant the pool of m ss has always been much, much larger than it is today.

Some congregations are full of men who have served as elders and have been either forced to step down (or whatever you call it) or have been deleted. Not all deletions were for weakness or wickedness, they were elders getting into a issing match. If you talk to them they don't want to serve again. I know I certainly do not.
