So, I guess a fleshlight or sex doll is out of the question in a Bethelites room?

$5.5 Million to be transferred to World Wide Work from Assembly Hall fund
by Sour Grapes ina letter was read tonight in our kingdom hall that the money that the circuits in the indianapolis area had in savings to build a new assembly hall will now be transferred to the www to build kingdom halls in lands where they are needed and a new assembly hall for us will not be built.. we had a beautiful assembly hall near downtown indy that was paid for.
it was sold a couple of years ago.
we were promised a new assembly hall to be built in southern ohio near the indiana border but they can kiss that goodbye now.

Yes, sound like the cut and run maneuvers from the snake oil salesman before the whole town figures out they have been sold a bunch of nothing. Slimboy,

Since I've left over ten years ago, I've been Pioneering,... Last year I put in over 900 hours of overtime. Last week I purchase a new Chevrolet Silverado. I like to purchase a new truck every two years. You know, for Pioneering. I just love to Pioneer.

Looks like a Hotel Lobby with a metro/urban interior design. I was looking for the slot machines but didn't find them. Oh, and people.
Personally, I would have made it like the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone.

I know this shouldn’t bother me...but
by MTSman inso i woke up this morning with nothing planned for the day.
i rolled out of bed around 9am and went to local mcky ds to get some breakfast, and lord and behold there was a group of jdubs sitting around eating and sipping on coffee, probable counting time.
anyway, i glanced over and recognized all of them and they glanced back at me.

The arrogance is repulsive. I continue to enjoy the peace in my life without all the drama, demands of congregational works, and control over every minute of my life.
It takes a while for your new choice in life to mature enough that those things don't bother you. Eventually, we can compartmentalize our time as witnesses into a small box and view it just like we did high school.
We used to sing "Keep your eyes on the prize", I try to keep looking in the windshield and not the rearview mirror.

Perhaps the issue is with playing a war game such as chess. The "Society" had articles about playing these games decades ago. At least she didn't tell you that you couldn't come back to visit. Or maybe I misunderstood.

if pre 1975 you said "The system will still be here late 2017" what would be the J.W's reaction?
by karter inone word for it.....apostate!
!.

I thought that the "Organization" had learned it's lesson about setting dates when they published the book, "Choosing the Best Way of Life" but then I found out it was written by someone who was later considered an apostate.
Jw's are an end time religion and that's their only selling point. When the expectation does not materialize, they rinse and repeat with some other expectation.
I remember asking a Brother in Brooklyn who had been there since the late sixties that I considered my friend: why doesn't the Society just concentrate on love, getting along, building the fruits of the spirit, imitating Jesus with qualities like kindness and forgiveness and leave out the date setting alone. He didn't have a reply. He was "reassigned" when he got old and now is struggling to make ends meet.

Should private citizens be allowed to video record law enforcement?
by Fisherman ini saw an article in the news yesterday that laws are going to be passed subjecting the police to being recorded by anyone while performing their duty or enforcing the law and encourages citizens to sue if they interfere.
some law enforcement agents become angry and confiscate recording devices from people recording them while making an arrest, etc.. it does seem that the work that the police and other government agents do is public and not private or confidential so there should be nothing to hide from the cameras.
on the other hand, how can one distinguish being shot by a camera or by a weapon until one is hit?.

They had their own body cams, why shouldn't a citizen?

Dumbstruck!
by Lost in the fog ini am absolutely dumbstruck and lost for words.
one of the elders who criticised me over my use of social media rang me up to ask how i was doing.
after the usual blah-blah-blah i asked him if he had attended the recent elders one day school.

Thank you for your report Lost in Fog. I attended an elders school in 2003-4 that discussed at length the Shepherding program. I took away from the school that the GB was backing off of the official shepherding visits to include shepherding visits while in service, informal visits at the kingdom hall, before and after the meetings, on the phone etc.
As a member of the service committee, the P.O. called a meeting soon after the school which talked about shepherding visits. The other two on the service committee were adamant that the "congregation was not being shepherded properly" and that we needed to produce a program in addition to our current shepherding schedule to 'harass" the publishers. I asked them directly at the meeting if they attended the same "elders school" that I had attended because we had each went away with different ideas.
Over my protest, they presented to the body of elders a "new shepherding program" and during their presentation, they had the audacity to say that it was a "unanimous" decision by the Service Committee and the P.O even asked me to indicate that it was.
In front of all the elders present, I said, "No, it wasn't unanimous, and I do not agree with anything more than the scheduled visits that we have agreed to".
It wasn't long after that I had resigned as the other two service committee members had formulated accusations against me. I had the support of many of the elders, but the "liberals" wanted more control over the congregation's families intimate personal lives and I didn't want it. It was this moment that I began to wake up to the controlling entities within the congregation and their high control religion.
My Point: The way Watchtower presents their material at the elders meeting can be interpreted many different ways.
Be Careful of what you say.
