Then Jehovah helps many people, not just JWs....at a local clinic, they have a questionnaire about not only your health, what your living conditions are...are you in a safe enviroment...do you have a place to live...I asked about this questionnaire, and depending upon what you are put on that paper, they will give out information for not only health care, but housing, ebt, abuse shelters, fuel assistance, food banks, etc.

Depiction of Governing Body on JW org
by Listener ina topic was started over at reddit directing people's attention to a depiction on jw.org of the governing body.
it's not in their publication, only on the website under the topic of "what is the governing body?
but who are these guys in the depiction?.

I find it interesting the pic shows 7, but the article names 9... I would be curious to know when that question was first asked. By having the pic as it is, they can change out people, and just add or substract names in the article...I think someone else will be leaving soon.

in spite of drama, trauma, abuse, cheating, slander, ( all related to witnesses ) I can't say it has been a bad life. I would say fair to middling...In spite of whatever happened, I felt like I had a safety net ( also related to witnesses ) The JW does add some structure and not all bad. I can't say life would have been better without the JW, but different. I have been homeless, but not without food, clothing, and shelter. That is a good thing. I wish I had woke up at least 25 years ago and I should have considering how awful I was being treated...I would have made better choices for my life. In a couple of weeks I will be 68...you who are younger, just be glad you woke us sooner. ( I want to write a book someday--but as long as I am able to and have work I must work- if I were to start the book, I wouldn't get anything else done until I finished it. ( at least I am not throwing hard earned money to the cult now! ) I feel blessed to have a house of peace. ( the thing that I feel may be missing now is a safety net of people, but then I do believe that God exists and that he cares, that he has provided and will continue to. Here is one big impact that happened (for good?) because of the witnesses. When I was a teenager I went to work at a small business owned by a witness, learned the trade and have supported myself every since by starting my own business and developing more skills -this is a small business that beats minimum wage but not welfare! but I can work at my own pace, whereas, I don't consider my health able to withstand a job where I had to sit or stand for long periods of time. This would not have happened had not been a witness.( I will add that the worldly people I have met in my business have been some of the nicest people I have ever met)

Magnum, I agree that what happens/ed to TM means something to us. It causes a lot of questions and speculations...if by apostates, you know those on the inside also want to know. If they start questioning, they too may wake up. Maybe some in your families will wake up. Maybe some of my old friends will wake up...I would hope so!

I listened to "six screens" last evening and the commenters. Here are a few take away thoughts. The fact there was a terse announcement without any explanation leads to speculation. We are all speculating and I imagine the insiders are as well. The terse statement indicates it likely wasn't a voluntary "step down"...I think they should have told what took place...
I can speculate: years ago when the WT prophets were shown to be liars, they had fall guys-apostates within the high places there. I think another head will roll soon as there were 2 new members added. They need scape goats. Maybe it has something to do with 1914 doctrine. Maybe the CSA...we don't know. Wouldn't it be a hoot if he becomes bitter with the org. and writes a tell-all? ( another thought from six screens?)
Anyway, I don't hate him. I don't like it that he preached hate speech...he may feel the effects soon. If something was so out of line that it meant removal as GB, why wouldn't that be a DF offense? After all, he claimed to be a faithful slave. To be removed, by that standard would mean an evil slave that would be put out with the dogs.

50 years in and this time last year I was going on Zoom but turning off sound and leaving the room. playing the game...instead of lamenting over 50 years ( and I literally became homeless for a while because I was trying to please hypocrites) I am thankful I am out. I don't have any friends now, save a couple of work acquaintance that I rarely see and for not long at a time. None of us are no-bodies...we are all important! I was trying to think of what the maid said to the little girl in THE HELP ( was/is free on youtube to watch ) The little girls mom didn't like her because she wasn't pretty. The maid would tell her if I recall correctly : You is smart. You is kind. You is important. ( pretty good flick if you haven't seen it. )

they lately appointed 2 new GB members...so I am thinking there is another one shortly to be removed. Anyway, it makes you wonder if Anthony was a faithful slave, how do they rid someone Jesus appointed without saying Jesus now considers him and evil slave? It is all absurb!

Blood question re: sample for testing
by carla inwhy can jw's give blood samples for testing in a medical setting?
i was with someone once (non jw related) who was getting multiple tests done and they must have taken a good pint all together in separate vials.
how do jw's square this with their blood policies?

straining gnats--the blood is poured out and so will eventually go back to the earth. ( so argue that eventually the person will die and return to the earth )

Second school
by llubrevlis2000 inhas the auxiliary class or second school been done away with?.
when i grew up in my congregation we even had three schools, so three bible readings and three lots of student assignments.. after covid it seems everything is easier, less assignments now some only seem to get one or two per year.. being an elder is much easier these days, everything is done for you.
meetings are full of videos and q&as need no preparation you could take a watchtower or cong book study with zero preparation and most midweek meetings have q&as that requires no preparation .

speaking of schools, in 2006 I moved from a Hall where I was on the school into a Hall, where the School servant ask if I was joining and I think I say yes...but that was the end of it . He evidently forgot to follow through and I was glad of it. I never joined when it was suggested from time to time for ones who weren't on the school to do so. I reasoned I had enough stress in my life without that addition. There were a few times when I forgot I had an assignment and had to scramble to throw something together ... I had been in the school for over 30 years . I didn't like doing assignments in the second school. I felt like if I put the work into it, I wanted an audience. More glad than ever now I didn't rejoin.
