WTWizard reminded me of the serpent in the garden. There seems to be something innate in man that makes him want to worship some god or other...even if it is a piece of wood they carve and say it is their god, so I don't think religion is going away.

by RULES & REGULATIONS in2022 governing body update # 6. what exciting news david splane has for all jehovah's witnesses ( who for the last three years were spared the house-to-house preaching work ) '' that we'll return to the ministry september 01, 2022. just in time for our world wide campaign to start bible studies.
and, i'm sure the angels are excited too, because it will give them opportunities to help us with our ministry.''.
not only will the witnesses be rusty in their return to the field ministry, the angels in heaven have been sitting idle while the pandemic stopped the house-to-house ministry.

Shunning Disfellowshipped & Apostate family Members. Scriptural?
by objectivetruth inanyone who is a witness or was previously a witness, is aware of the written & un-written rules concerning association with disfellowshipped family members.. there are a multitude of quotes through out the watchtower publications, but these 2 will suffice.. "are you proving yourself holy by not associating with family members or others who are disfellowshipped?
"the clear instruction in the bible is: avoid them.
that means that we have to stay away from them... the bible says that apostates are mentally diseased and that they use their teachings to make others think like them... what must we do to avoid false teachers?

In 1980-81, Mr x was disfellowshipped. He told me the congregation was treating me like I had been disfellowshipped. That was true..it was like they didn't know how to treat me, so they didn't bother at all. He was reinstated and eventually became an elder. ( I heard him say the only time he was happy was away from the Hall.) The rest of the story: he left when I was presenting proof I had grounds for scriptual divorce. While he was there, the other elders were patting him on the back, saying he had done nothing wrong and I was being ostracized and a needs talk was given about women who became independent and wanted to get rid of their husbands.

the bible studies, after all are to get people to understand they can't gain life without the "faithful slave" ( you have to be baptized as jw to survive) .how does it make you feel?

smiles--thank you for your commentary. I personally am grateful to those who have stayed inside that have leaked valuable information. I personally felt guilty! Everyone has to pick their battles. Some have more to loose than others as far as housing, jobs, family are concerned. Kudos to the ones who can stomach it. It can't be easy for them.

I'll tell you how it made me feel...If I talked to someone about the Bible, I didn't direct them to the organization. I was doing zoom, but got to the point where I just couldn't listen to all of that propaganda...but I didn't want people to think I was totally out ( I wasn't well thought of anyway because I had been diligent about posting anti vx on FB. and some had complained to the point a an elder told a sister who was my friend to have me to quit posting the stuff, but the sister told him she agreed with me. It was also brought to my attention that when we returned to meetings I should be careful what I said among the friends or I might be invited to the back room ) So I was on zoom, but not...I would login and show my face, take down the camera, turn down the sound and go about my business, but come back in a while and hold up my hand, and go back about my business. I didn't like myself. My best friend was a pioneer and she would talk about some of her studies just not seeming to want the truth--I had to comment to her in such a way so as not to tip my hand so to speak, so I felt I was being totally dishonest with her---so I outed myself, because I didn't like playing false to any of it. I fought that, I will confess...I looked for reasons to believe, reasons to excuse, reasons to stay in. It is hard to admit to yourself you were gullible for 50 years!

( I saw a video of a brother who commented pointing out something that wasn't right in the WT study...the Elders pounced on him -he in essence spoke against the GB...it didn't matter that what he said was correct which could be seen from a direct Bible quote ) How does it make you feel to know that in not pointing out the falsehoods and blasphemy that you are helping to keep others captive? -

by Mikejw inhere in 2022 if anyone says anything against the vaccines even a little bit you are almost apostate.. someone once mentioned all vaccinated sports stars collapsing and someone else said not to speak badly about the gb or by extension jehovah.. the gb can’t get out of this one, it’s gone too far.
it’s now the case that if you speak against the vaccines you are speaking against the gb and by extension jehovah .

It the face masks really worked, there would have been bio-hazzard trash bins on every corner and a mandate to put your used masks in them...people have been played and for the GB to twist scriptures to keep playing the game is appalling. The convention video where the man was shamed into wearing the mask was demeaning.

then there is a vote to pay the CO's expenses when he is there for a week...( the green handshakes didn't count ) I hope some of those COs have squirreled away some of those personal donations. We barely made a living, but Mr x could come up with $100 for him back 25 years ago.

I am not sure- maybe just an expected expense...-I do know the elder body can suggest a higher number motion and it be voted on. Before I knew about the requirement I always wondered why expenses were so high...you will have one hall with 3 congregations. how much can it cost for utilities and upkeep with 3 congregations paying for them?
