The past year has been in interesting ride. I never looked very closely, or I would have found something to hinge my decision to leave on sooner. I had always told myself if something stood out to me that directly went against what I knew to be in the Bible, that I would leave. ( in hindsight, I think that thought was there because subconsciously I knew things weren't right ) Anyway, what I want to say about this interesting ride is in a short while I learned more about the org being on the outside than I did being in for 50 years, and that is because instead of just leaving JWs, I dug deeper into it's past and came to appreciate, it was built on a pack of lies from it's inception.

by enoughisenough infor the most of us, we have left the jws...and even though we are no longer jw, many of us are still interested in their beliefs, doctrines and practices as currently practiced.
i was trying to sort out in my mind why i still care about what they are doing.
i think the answer to that is a hope that something will develop in the jws that will wake up a lot of others, and selfishly, a lot of my friends.

For the most of us, we have left the JWs...and even though we are no longer JW, many of us are still interested in their beliefs, doctrines and practices as currently practiced. I was trying to sort out in my mind why I still care about what they are doing. I think the answer to that is a hope that something will develop in the JWs that will wake up a lot of others, and selfishly, a lot of my friends. Also when some "new light " comes out, it reinforces that getting out of all the lies was the right thing to do. I also know that many keep up so as to help others to see how ridiculous and false some of the teachings are-again in hopes more come out of the cult. -

rattigan350...some people believe the Bible to be inspired of God! If you don't, then I guess it isn't any more special to you than a storybook of any sort. I would think erring on the side of caution to be a good thing just in case the Bible really is God's word. If it is, many won't fair well and if it isn't, there are principle's in it if followed would benefit people in general...like justice and kindness for others for example.

by enoughisenough ini saw this in a video sometime back ( don't remember now ) but it caught my attention...micah 6:8 was changed in the "silver sword" ...they changed the words in that scripture from " to love kindness" or in some versions to "love mercy" or "love grace" or "love goodness" to nwt silver : " to cherish loyalty".
sometime afterward there would be articles about being loyal to the organization.
some of you may recall this.

If I were to formulate this differently without how it is translated in scripture, so just pretend we haven't gone there: Do the words " love kindness" and "cherish loyalty" mean the same thing? Can they be interchanged without changing the meaning? Let's define in pretty simple terms.
Love- intense feeling of deep affection / To feel affection for someone / Have great interest in or get pleasure from ( I love football ) Like or enjoy very much
Cherish-protect and care for, hold something dear, keep ( a hope or ambition for ) in one's mind
Kindness-the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. A kind act.
Loyalty-the quality of being loyal Strong feeling of support or allegiance
So then there remains: which words better fit what Micah was trying to say within the context of the whole of Micah 6:8?
