I had this thought....inclusive is the no time reporting for the R and F and "last minute repentance" thingy: Maybe they want people to leave! That way, they consolidate more halls and have move property to sell.

Real reasons behind this change?
by Gorb injust a good conversation at home about the hour report change.. we think the change was not impmemented because the gb are such a lovely bunch of old grandpa's having the best in mind for us individuals.. there will be only, and we say only, an organizational reason for it.
a legal reason, to protect jw.org and it's officials and wealth.. next step?
maybe selling more kh and when jw hollywood studio's in rampoo are ready a change to tv subscription.. what do you think?

No more REPORTING field service!!!!!!!!!
by BoogerMan inthis is going to break the hearts of a lot of uber-jw's!
reddit has now removed the video link of samuel herd telling jw's they will no longer have to report time or placements - just tick a box which says "active.".

It doesn't mention that elders and ms have to report hours, so wouldn't this indicate there will be a lot more YOUNG men becoming Ministerial servants and Elders...they are wanting more people to fill those slots.

Has The WT Allowed Outsiders to be Saved?
by NotFormer inhttps://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/comments/1734baj/they_just_had_a_huge_meeting/.
this reddit post suggests that the cessation of reporting hours isn't the only thing announced at the recent meeting.
can anyone in, or sufficiently well versed in jwdom confirm that the op's understanding of this announcement correct?.

I don't know why I stayed in for 50 years before "waking up". I never thought counting time was right and resented it. I always believed that others besides JW would be saved at the end ( because a great mixed crowd came out of Egypt with the Israelites and Moses and Jesus told about the workers coming in at the end of the work day and getting the same pay as those who worked all day ) ( Let's hope more and more leave because of this.)

if they get more publishers this way, then they can count more seats taken and therefore more money from the congregations. Also if people aren't putting money out for gas and snacks while in the work ( because a lot won't go out now for sure....then maybe more for the contributions,,,

Things JWs Say That Don't Mean What They Think It Means
by NotFormer insometimes things don't come across the way the speaker intended.. years ago there was an ad by the whitegoods company fisher and paykel.
they showed them going to great lengths to get customer feedback on what was important to them.
one customer said that she wanted it to be easy to get her appliances serviced when they broke down.

my granddad told this one. The was a sister whose last name was Payne. She sat in the back of the hall and raised her hand to answer a question. The WT conductor called on her to answer the question: Sister Payne in the rear.

Rattigan, I always thought that about time counting. ( but went along with the crowd.-gullible me ) Why do we go along with what we know is wrong? ans: peer pressure, being obedient to those taking the lead....So glad I woke up!

Maybe it is a money crunch....if people don't have to report, they won't go out as much and there won't be as much demand for paper publications ( not everyone liked the eletronic thing ) I mentioned on a similar post, they won't need as many Bethelites if they don't publish as much. It's like they want in the movie business anyway...

I am glad I got out, but I have to say that if I were in, I would feel this new thing a slap in the face. Think of all the years we were put under pressure to get our hours up...do more, more, more....and were judged by the elders and others by our time ( on the cards or being visible ) I suppose if you are in,you will still be judged as to being visible....but I bet a lot won't even show up. They would have us review our cards from time to time to shame us into getting even more time! I wonder if they thing more will get baptized if they know they don't have to report time. I find it interesting, you are to tick the box if you talked to anyone....They still want to know how many are "preaching" so they know how much to charge the congregations for the seat takers at the halls.

Will pioneers feel more special than ever or will they resent that they have to put in the hours and report them? Will pioneers be put on an even higher pedistal?

About quiting hours
by Gorb inwhat i'm thinking: can a jw be happy that the hour rapport quits?
can you show you are happy with it in the kingdom hall?
knowing it was one of the control systems of the local elders and co?.

I hope some of the pimo report what the congregations are saying about it. I think it will be like a weight lifted from their shoulders.
