"The messiah" was to come from the "line of David" right??

a huge realization hit me the other day while listening to a podcast that discussed the "lineage of jesus".. according to the bible, "the messiah" was to come through king davids lineage.

but, if you wade through the entire chapter of matthew that lists "son of ...son of...son of...etc", it becomes obvious that jesus did not come through davids line at all!.

in fact, that lineage lists jospeh (mary's husband) as being in davids line.

So then does that make Mary an adulteress ? Was she guilty of porneia ? a whore ?

No.

Adultery is defined as "a voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not their spouse."

porneia is a Greek word which refers to unlawful sexual intercourse

whore is a woman who engages in sexual acts for money.

To qualify for the above three parameters, sexual intercourse is necessary. Mary didn't have that. Hence she cannot be called the above.

In modern days, we have surrogate mothers who bears a child on behalf of another woman, from her own egg fertilized by the other woman's partner/husband, without any sexual intercourse. Would you call a surrogate mother an adulteress or a whore?

But Mary, who gave birth to Jesus, was a descendant of David.

Mary never gave consent. and so was effectively raped by Jehovah

Wrong.

Before her impregnation, angel Gabriel told Mary that she would be impregnated by the Holy Spirit. Mary told the following words to the angel Gabriel, which shows she consented to it:

Then Mary said: “Look! Jehovah’s slave girl! May it happen to me according to your declaration.” Luke 1:38

So that was not rape. At verse 47, Mary says that she was 'overjoyed' with this news.

Even if they say that in most cases a judicial hearing is not required, why even put it in that category?

Because in many cases judicial action is required. In a congregation in my city, a child abuser attempted suicide once he got to know that he has been outed. His attempt to suicide was a hoax to claim mental depression and wiggle out of a JC and the law. While elders were dealing with him compassionately, the police officers arrested him and gave him a beating of his life. He is behind bars.

The judicial hearing will not be for the attempted suicide, but for the reason behind it. and the reason behind attempting suicide or a pretense of attempting suicide is not always depression.

Now that's another irony.

What should I say to this?

You say that you are not concerned about the torture of JW's in Russia. You don't give 2 farts to these JW's.

But...

When a JW is asked to leave Bethel, you get all concerned about these JW's to the point of thinking about a lawsuit to be filed against WT:

If one of those 7 Russian JW's comes to this site, do you realize what your statements would mean for him? Is this the way you reach out to JW's to help them learn the truth about JW's? You wish those JW's in Russia should leave their religion but at the same time wish they be tortured till the time they remain JW's.

I hope both of you have a happy life and nothing untoward happen to you.

Ostrovskogo, d. 47, in Surgut. While being tortured, officers interrogated the Witnesses, demanding to know: “Where are meetings of Jehovah’s Witnesses held? Who attends the meetings? What are the elders’ last names? What is your mobile phone password?”

On February 15, 2019, mass searches in Surgut started in the early morning hours. Worshippers were taken to the Investigative Committee offices. Investigators began interrogating the Witnesses, who refused to disclose details about their fellow worshippers. After the only legal representative in the room left, victims report that the following occurred: agents put a bag over the victims’ heads, sealed it with tape, tied their hands behind their backs, and beat them. Then, after stripping the Witnesses naked and dousing them with water, the agents shocked them with stun guns. This sadistic torture lasted for about two hours.
