Sensationalism at its best.
Even Jesus provided six stone jars of good wine at a marriage in Cana.
i was howling watching cedars latest video of tm111 buying a dozen bottles of scotch ((maccallans scotch).
you can't write this stuff.
right, i'm now off to buy a bottle of maccallans 😂..

russia: justice ministry seeks complete jehovah's witness ban.
by victoria arnold, forum 18. with no public announcement, russia's justice ministry lodged a suit at the supreme court today (15 march) to declare the jehovah's witness administrative centre "extremist", to liquidate it, and to ban its activity.
if successful, this would ban all jehovah's witness activity across russia.. russia's justice ministry has submitted a suit to the supreme court to declare the administrative centre of jehovah's witnesses an "extremist" organisation, order it liquidated, and ban its activity.
But I don’t really care about the moral level of those who indirectly contribute to the disappearance of the JW organization!
Or should I be concerned?))
Yes, you should be concerned.
Because cults never disappear due to bans. They empower the hard core members - not only in the banned country but also in other countries.
what's up with this?
it seems that with the january study magazine it's been trimmed by by four pages.
have any of you commented on this?.
It seems that with the January Study magazine it's been trimmed by by four pages.
They are still 32 pages. Which magazine are you looking at?
have any of you come across this rare breed of jw?.
i know a brother who spends 9 months of the year living in a caribbean island where he is an active jw and then he flies back to his home european country for 3 months to work and save up so he can fly back out again.
he is an active jw in his home country.. he's not a missionary and has never been to gilead though he attended pioneer school back in the '90s.
I sometimes wonder if the friends who go abroad to serve "where the need is great" are not simply going because "their needs are great."
Would be fair on this. These JW's spend their own money so they are welcome to go where they want. At least they not like cedars who was asking for money from child abuse victims for his book and was seen holidaying in Venice.
One cannot discredit them simply because the country has good beaches or has good tourist destinations. There are good beaches in India too, and there are many young American and British JW's who have come here to preach. Mind you, it's a complete shit hole of a country and having good tourist destinations doesn't make your life automatically enjoyable.
There are many JW's who actually live and preach in dirt poor countries. In many third world countries, the growth has been attributed to these need greaters.
for those that are convinced they are not following man, but jehovah, this example is 100% proof they follow men.
if they twist this to say they don't follow man, well, there is no hope for them.. the bible is very clear to honor your father and mother, it was and is so important, it's listed as one of the 10 commandments.
when that parent leaves the truth, either due to disassociation or being disfellowshipped, the child shuns them for life.
And what if a parent sexually abuses the child and gets disfellowshipped? Would you still want the child to honor that parent?
My deepest condolences. Surely a great loss. I was always left speechless with the level of detail that she had about the WT.
She had even the most intricate details of the WT in the late 1800s and I communicated with her over many of these details.
Will miss her contribution here very much
back in the day - yeah, i know, most things i write start like that!
however - back in the day there was an implicit rule ratio of 2 to 1 when it came to counting time.
two witnesses witnessing to one person for one hour would count one hour each.
Two witnesses witnessing to one person for one hour would count one hour each.
I don't think anything is wrong with that counting. In an office, if 2 people are working on 1 project for 8 hours each, the client is billed for 16 hours of productive time.
a huge realization hit me the other day while listening to a podcast that discussed the "lineage of jesus".. according to the bible, "the messiah" was to come through king davids lineage.
but, if you wade through the entire chapter of matthew that lists "son of ...son of...son of...etc", it becomes obvious that jesus did not come through davids line at all!.
in fact, that lineage lists jospeh (mary's husband) as being in davids line.
So then does that make Mary an adulteress ? Was she guilty of porneia ? a whore ?
No.
Adultery is defined as "a voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not their spouse."
porneia is a Greek word which refers to unlawful sexual intercourse
whore is a woman who engages in sexual acts for money.
To qualify for the above three parameters, sexual intercourse is necessary. Mary didn't have that. Hence she cannot be called the above.
In modern days, we have surrogate mothers who bears a child on behalf of another woman, from her own egg fertilized by the other woman's partner/husband, without any sexual intercourse. Would you call a surrogate mother an adulteress or a whore?

But Mary, who gave birth to Jesus, was a descendant of David.
Mary never gave consent. and so was effectively raped by Jehovah
Wrong.
Before her impregnation, angel Gabriel told Mary that she would be impregnated by the Holy Spirit. Mary told the following words to the angel Gabriel, which shows she consented to it:
Then Mary said: “Look! Jehovah’s slave girl! May it happen to me according to your declaration.” Luke 1:38
So that was not rape. At verse 47, Mary says that she was 'overjoyed' with this news.
does anyone know if the new elders' manual addresses attempted suicide?
in the previous manual, it was seen as a potential judicial matter, which is absolutely ridiculous.
have they changed it?
Where is professional help even mentioned??
Read the references given after the sentence - g 4/14 pages 6-9. It mentions about getting professional help.
