They sure quote a lot from Solomon, a true "apostate"-to-be.

This article makes me sick!
by VioletAnai inhttp://www.watchtower.org/library/w/1995/11/1a/article_01.htm .
i had memories come back after an operation at 14...they are lacking detail to say the least, but does that mean i didn't experience it?
it's a repressed memory that can't be trusted!

Bad influence of JW's
by Pardus inwhen i think about growing up as a witness, the worst thing my mind was subjected to was thinking about, and actually believing that, everyone, even "good," moral people, would die at armageddon except "faithful" jws.
the more i thought about this, the more i came to believe that i don't want to serve a god that would kill billions of people simply because they were not jws.
if that did happen, i would not be happy in paradise, laughing and enjoying myself, knowing that jehovah and his armies had slaughtered so many people for that ridiculous reason.

JW's are told that birthday celebrations are bad because look at what happened fatally at those two parties mentioned in the Bible.
Maybe the Israelites did celebrate birthdays and never had any bad parties that made "the news", so to speak, just as it's mostly the Bad Stuff that makes the news in modern times.

Puppy Love
by Celia inmy dog died today.... and i am very sad.
i got him as a 7 week old puppy 11 years ago and i loved him dearly.. i brought him to the vet.
to be put to sleep, that was so hard, but he had diabetes, had lost at least 25 pounds in the last 3 months, drank gallons and gallons of water, woke me up 2 or 3 times during the night to go out, could barely walk anymore, and he was blind...

Same thing for me too through the years; cats Roach, Paco, Fida, Bon Bon, Koko, Callie....No matter how philosophical I make myself I still am saddened so much by death: animals, birds, people, some insects......and wonder how some Supreme Being, if that's what it is, can stand all the death of sentient beings who do NOT want to die, every second of every day for thousands of years now. "He is opening his hand and satisfying the desire of every living thing" still puzzles me as the desire of all sentient life forms is to LIVE, not die. I hope to have some real answer for myself some time.

New Title For Revelation Book
by hooberus inthe watchtower's revelation commentary "revelation: it's grand climax at hand!
" is so amazingly self centered, as they apply nearly everything in the book of revelation to themselves, that perhaps they should give the book a new name.
here's my suggestion:.

Once a young sister, when answering about a question on health, said, "You have to eat well to have a healthy orgasm." It sort of brought down the whole book study, quietly.
I always got the feeling that we studied some publications more than once because WTS was too lazy or ran out of time to come up with a schedule for a new publication.
I was always pissed because we did not study "Mankind's Search for God" in the book study. Do nice research and then renege because you maybe think the publishers would learn something. Another nail in my JW coffin.

I experienced similar feelings when I was one of the dunkers at the Norco, CA, assembly hall in the 80's. It was this beautiful tall young long-haired movie-starlet looking blonde with the superest body ever molded into a brief one-piece swimsuit that I had to help dunk. It was almost all over for me at that point. I wanted to run but there were too many people in the way. She even smelled heavenly as she sauntered up to our helping hands but I just gritted my teeth and tried to keep living after that, with little success. I continued as one of the JW Living Dead as long as I could, and am glad it's all over now with real life staring me in the face each wonderful day, as I reflect on how I felt looking at, touching, and smelling that beautiful girl on that abysmal baptismal day.

It should be obvious that the Ethiopian answered the 227 questions after he asked "What prevents me from being baptized" and before Cornelius actually baptized him. Not having gone over the questions yet was in fact what was preventing him. It's just not stated specifically in the Bible.
I always hated going through those questions with new ones and never knew why. Now I know.

Bienvenida Prisila.
You'll find lots of personality types here. Most of us really love the Truth, the Real Truth, not JW version.
You'll get comfort and learn a lot about yourself and lots of other stuff.

by AlanF innow that dad has recovered his equilibrium, i just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone who expressed concern about my daughter the last couple of weeks.
in the great scheme of things this is a minor matter but it sure affected me!
i guess my family has been pretty lucky compared to others.. anyway, julie (that's the daughter one, not the wifely one) recovered so fast that she returned to school this past monday.
