  MPs demand action over Jehovah’s Witness abuse allegations March 26, 2018

  the guardian (uk), monday, march 26, 2018. mps are demanding government action after more than 100 people contacted the guardian with allegations of child sexual abuse and other mistreatment in jehovah’s witness communities in the uk.. “i am extremely concerned, but not surprised, by the allegations of child abuse within the jehovah’s witness movement.

  whenever there is a closed society with an inherent power imbalance, the potential for abuse is there,” said the labour mp sarah champion.. she said she would be raising the issue in parliament and demanding that the government take actionto make sure all children were safe.. alex chalk, the conservative mp for cheltenham, said he planned to raise the issue in parliament, saying it was not just an historical issue but an ongoing child safety concern.. “my instinctive thoughts are that the sheer numbers and seriousness of the allegations coming forward is concerning ... if even half the allegations coming to light are true then it’s clear that an entrenched culture of cover-up and flawed in-house investigations continues to this day,” chalk said.. champion said she was concerned that victims had to report their abuse to elders, without independent scrutiny.. she also expressed concern that abuse claims can only be taken before a committee for investigation if there were two witnesses to it.

  according to the bible , one of adam's first assignments was to name all the animals including the sea creatures and dinosaurs of course.

  I know it's probably not helpful, but when I was younger I was never aloud to see a psychiatrist and I desperately needed too. A 10 year old who is suicidal and dosent even understand the feeling kind of has to yanno, if I did I might not be so screwed up now (lol..)

  but it I was never aloud to incase the doctor blamed the religion and all that crap..

  within in the past few years I was able to though if I didn't I would be dead from an eating disorder

  but yes

  praying dose EVERYTHING didn't you know..

  The closest i believe when it comes to a deity is the earth, she provides more than god ever did. Circle of life and all that shit.

  just the video or some commentary too?.

  i have heard of a few negative comments from some that attended - one jw even openly said to me "not very encouraging, all they go on about is money lately" and another (a serving elder, no less) said "someone's got to pay for all those lawsuits".

  I'm 22 and only just had the courage to tell my mum, cause I still live at home with my husband and 5 year old and we do t have the money to move out and I didn't wanna risk it.

  But tbh I haven't been a witness since I was 18 which was when my baby was born due to complications during pregnancy. I haven't been in 4 years

  i know two jehovah's witnesses couple.

  the husband had a rough upbringing.

  his father left him at a young age, leaving his mom and himself to take care of his siblings.

  I was never aloud to see a counsellor or therapist when I was at school and in DIER need of it. Even though I was getting totally screwed up, because I should just 'pray to jehovah and all will be well' 'read and study the bible and you will become find' and all that shit. My parents were always worried about the therapist thinking that I was getting screwed up because of the religion if I said anything and that bad things would happen because of it because that's what the elders said.

  The only reason I got therapy later on (then I was 19) was because of my eating disorder and the doctor made me see a therapist so that I wouldn't die. And because I was over 18. But if I went to therapy when I first needed to at 9 years old things might not be as bad as they are now and i might not of ended up with scars all over my body.

  No no amount of praying alone or being prayed for will to jack.
