No. Smiles doesn't agree with Fisherman. He is telling him that he (Fisherman) is doing the devil's work by defending religious policies that protect thousands of criminals of all sorts around the word while making the victims suffer even more. He is also telling him that he doesn't like answering serious questions by using several technics that JWs love using to avoid fair and honest debate.

Should laws be passed compelling the church to report crimes?
by Fisherman inif laws were passed compelling the church to report crimes to government authorities and there was no legal way around it and the church was forced to comply and did comply, nobody would confess their sins.
it wouldn’t stop people from committing crimes, they just wouldn’t tell their church about it.

Conditions of Watchtower Baptism
by Vanderhoven7 ini understand that there are 80 to 100 questions that would-be witnesses must answer correctly before they can be considered eligible for "christian baptism".
however i have noticed that none of the questions relate to the 607destruction, the 1914 invisible presence and enthronement, or even the 1919 appointment of the faithful slave.. now some may feel my question is ridiculous, but bear with me.. will jehovah's witnesses baptize someone who answers all 100 questions satisfactorily, but rejects 607, 1914 and 1919 and the events the watchtower associates with these dates if they agree not to express their rejection to others?.
your thoughts....

I believe that the moment you started to raise concrete and serious questions about their chronology, 607 - 1914, child abuse, etc., the study would stop... It wouldn't get to the point of you being asked any of those questions. JWs love people who are well informed and who ask deep questions...

question/s for the PIMO
by enoughisenough into maintain the facade of being a jw, when doing the ministry, are you not advocating for the gb?
the bible studies, after all are to get people to understand they can't gain life without the "faithful slave" ( you have to be baptized as jw to survive) .how does it make you feel?
if you are parroting an answer in a paragraph that you know is wrong, how does it make you feel?

I got out because I can't lie and associate with people who lie and don't care about the truth. Anyway, I still feel like a prisoner because my wife, my daughter and mother-in-law are still in... It's hard to withstand good family relationships because the main purpose of many WT rules is to destroy families in which there's someone who asks too many questions.
All the best for you.

"here is the Christ"
by enoughisenough ini was thinking about the scriptures at matt 24:23-26 .
the time period does appear to be during great tribulation...anyway, it is telling us not to believe it when people are telling us christ is in the wilderness or in his inner rooms.
it would be false christs and false prophets promoting this.

That we have been told, indoctrinated! Where is the evidence? The Gentile Times Reconsidered is a very thorough work that proves that date absolutely wrong, for example.

by Fisherman inseveral years ago i was having a conversation with a neighbor inside a store and he told me that he was in the park one day with a friend who was then struck by lightning and after a few moments after being struck they walked away from there and while they were walking away my neighbor told me that his friend got hit by lightning a second time ki&&ing him.
after telling me this story lightning struck and we heard thunder.

@blondie
Please, send a hug to Erica from a Portuguese friend who knows what being molested as a child is, even though it wasn't by any JW, and who left the WT as soon as he found out the truth about this evil corporation

The problem of questioning or the lack of politeness
by joao ina forum is a place where people should be able to talk to each other, to question, to have meaningful interactions with others in a polite and educated way, to contribute for the growth of one another.
it seems that, here, there are some people who think that the others know nothing.
they have all the facts, all the truth and have the disrespectful attitude of ignoring concrete and respectful questions.

LHG:
Hi! Thank you for your reply.
Here, the point is not that they don't agree with me. It's that they don't answer me. That's what I have in the KH!
I like some theological subjects, others I don't. Some issues are really uninteresting because they are very focused on the American reality and I'm Portuguese.
All in all, how would you feel if someone argued against something you said but wouldn't reply to your polite reply? It's shunning, again.
And I don't need this to move on. It feels like I'm being pushed backwards and getting no support in a forum I supposed was a place to help bringing some light into one's life, not toxicity.
As you see, I'm willing to move on.
