just fine, thanks for your input. You wrote:
And she also believes there is an emotional aspect to long standing pain.
Hmm, interesting. OrphanCrow also mentioned it. Did she tell more about that emotional aspect? I'd like to know. Furthermore, -for the sake of argument-, isn't long standing pain usually due to aging and the wearing of the body or, as in some cases, work-related? My now not-sore-anymore tendon seemed to become painful a bit more often with the years.

HappyDad, amazing story.
OrphanCrow, you wrote:
So, my question to you: why did you still feel pain "for years"? Was your injury not healed already?
With all respect, I don't think so. Let me explain in more detail. The pain was caused by putting to much tension on my wrist during a hand movement, which gave a short painful sensation of burning fire in my tendon. It happened about 12 years ago and I never went to the doctor, but everytime when I had to use much more than average strength, the sensation came back, so it's quite clear to me why and when I felt the pain. Same with my collegue, who almost reported sick although she already used a brace. She had REAL, work related pain which she got just recently, not years ago.

Thanks all of you so far.
OrphanCrow, you wrote:
It is possible that you really didn't have anything at all wrong with your wrist - you may have been experiencing sympathetic pain or a psychological pain that your brain was perceiving as physical - and the mere suggestion that the pain could disappear was enough for your brain to interpret reality correctly.
Interesting, and without a doubt sometimes the case. but in my case I don't believe this was a matter of wrong signaling/interpretation/suggestion from my side. You see, I know exactly where my pain came from. It was a physical cause and effect and has been there for years since the very moment it happened. In my memory, I can still pinpoint that moment and remember every detail and everything that was involved.

There is an entire school of thought that energy flows like electricity. From higher to lower, stronger to weaker etc.
The example above is just one most of us are familiar with. Many secular and other religious resources report similar stories.
So what if the question is not "does it exist" (energy moving from one source to another)
but "what is the source"?
I personally think it is a simple part of the natural world. Just like barometric pressure and tides and so on.This idea of energy comes close to my own gut-feeling. Warmth is known to relieve muscle pain, and warmth is a form of energy. The lady probably has the "gift" that her energy goes/flows to where it's needed. I still think that in this case, that energy is not exactly the same as heat. May indeed have something to do with electricity, molecules and their arrangements.
It's great to discuss these things without superstition.

You can survive Armageddon by avoiding demonic dolls, such as Sparlock.
Instead, CALEB AND SOPHIA are a fine provision, approved and tested by Tony III himself!
Children, you know what to do....

This is what happened.
I had a sore tendon in my wrist. I could work with it, but nevertheless the pain was there. A collegue of mine also suffered from it, but much, much worse, up to the point that she needed to wear a brace and almost reported sick in order to seek more professional medical care.
Suddenly the brace was gone, and she told everyone at work she had recovered. This all happened before my fade as a JW, so, full of suspicion and WT indoctrination, I asked her what exactly had happened. She told me in private that a particular client had healed her by touching her wrist. I had an immediate "AH, SEE? I KNEW IT!" feeling, knowing that would do anything to distract people from god's commandments
Again, I HAD a sore tendon in my wrist, because... ((((here it comes, prepare yourselves for this)))) ........ I visited this client as well and you know what? THE PAIN IS GONE! The lady just needed a picture of me and by gently pressing my wrist and closing her eyes, the pain simply disappeared!
Before you all ask...
- She didn't ask money.
- She didn't say a prayer.
- I don't have nightmares nor do I hear voices since.
Thanks to this forum I'm very close to agnosticism now so I'm not afraid of demons and witchcraft, but we all know the negative WT view on this matter.
Any similar experiences? How do you explain this? Please share!

Half banana:
Without the Jesus myth and Constantine's mother Helena having adopted the cult, the dominant Roman religion would probably have ended up in a Dionysian mould...but this cult too had to be absorbed for Jesus Christianity to become the catholic or universal faith, Dionysus contributing the expression "The true vine", he turned water into wine at a wedding feast, was born a virgin son of God and was crucified for the sake of sinful mankind. Makes you think!
Thanks Half banana! In my case, "Makes you think" is an understatement. I mean, could it really be that the whole concept of the ransom is of pagan origin? Just like the JW's always point to the pagan origins of certain rituals and holidays? I didn't know about these specific pre-christian origins you mentioned! ! Fascinating stuff. I definitely want to read more

Sigh... memories coming in Atlantis... The whole Revelation-saga including all those beasts, angels and visions was extremely attractive to me and probably the first trigger that led me to
the truththe borg. I was really into the occult, heavy metal, new age, astrology and numerology during the 90's and I was already familiar with numbers such as 144,000 and 666. The "revelation" that was cast down to earth and caused war and trouble really made sense to me from my perspective, not knowing that the "proof" for the "last days" was lied about/taken out of context (unfortunately no fast google-check for me because the internet was not yet mainstream and after a while I was already sucked in and working hard for my "spiritual progress" )I jumped in at the good ol' congregation book study and did the last third of the '88 Revelation book. It already was the third time it was studied back then, and I remember that I prayed that I might see the day of a 4th study. It came! lol I told everybody how JHVH had blessed my desire to study my favorite WT book once again! I secretly enjoyed the fact that this revised version really was a bridge too far for most of the elderly. Prophecy was the stuff I thrived on . One older sister confessed that the first version already went over her head, let alone this revised version with the list of all the adjustments lol
I guess the discernment of Jah's deep spiritual truths (being proof of his divine blessing through the HS!) has been largely shred to pieces with the "new light" on types-antitypes in the march 15, 2015 edition of the Watchtower.
http://watchtowerdocuments.org/watchtower-fewer-types-and-antitypes/
Glad I got out around the time the borg became flooded with that infantile Sophia & Caleb crap and that boring street card witnessing and BEFORE that feeble, boring 'Life & ministry'-meeting. Still, the Revelation book is special to me because of the fabulous overactive imagination of its writer(s) and the "grotesque" artwork of visions and beasts!
