There was always that inevitable moment when some elderly sisters in the hall began to sigh during such long prayers. A subtle stop sign that could be heard by almost anyone, exept by the one praying it seemed.

jehovah we know that etc etc etc therefore we must...well you get the gist.and on and on it goes.
absolutely drives me mad..

What if one of the GB members suddenly needed blood?
by StarTrekAngel inthere is not much to be analyzed.
in a cult enviromment the leader will always look up for himself.
he would never hesitate to break every rule to save his own skin.

They could take blood and call it "overlapping fractions".

"The G.B. is neither inspired nor infallible"
by smiddy inthat admission in the feb.17 ,study edition of the watchtower , " who is leading gods people today ?
" "the governing body is neither inspired, nor infallible, therefore it (they/we) can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction .".
have the many jehovahs witnesses past and present who have lost their lives by refusing blood transfusions due to the prohibition on blood tranfusions by jehovahs witnesses really got the sense of this statement ?.

The Governing Body makes important decisions collectively. How so? The members meet weekly, which fosters close communication and unity. (Prov. 20:18) Each year, they rotate chairmanship at those meetings, since no member of the Governing Body is considered to be more important than the other members. (1 Pet. 5:1) Each of the six committees of the Governing Body rotate chairmanship in the same way.
I know it's off topic, but this article contains a lot of interesting statements (therefore I printed it). For instance, doesn't this bold part indicate that Jackson's shameless and evasive statements before the ARC that certain policies from the GB are NOT his field, is utter bullshit? (something we already knew anyway, but always good to see the truth printed and written in the WT, right?).

So I just watched Jackson's ARC interview...
by schnell inthank you, everybody here, for introducing me to this.
no, no i had not heard of this.
child abuse issues have been roundly dismissed as apostate attacks in the congregations i've attended in the last decade.

Smiddy > You can just see kevin Bowditch waiting for the Holy spirit to put words in his mouth, { when hailed before governments and kings , Gods holy spirit will put words in your mouth }
However no such words were forthcoming , His eyes looked like a deer caught in the headlights , and he was completely lost for words .Maybe Bowditch didn't make enough hours to receive some divine backing?

It's
patheticprophetic. The gb represents Jehovah...Jehovah wants to be honored with the silver and gold. -

JW's know how to guilt trip....
by HereIgo inwhen i left the org, the jw's tried their best to guilt trip me.
some of the questions i was asked and things i was told:.
"how could you possibly be happy outside of jehovah's organization?

I had this one in a concerned email last week:
"Even if you are right about 1914, it's not up to you but up to Jehovah to correct mistakes".
Sigh... he just didn't get my earlier point that it's a core teaching. If it changes, everything else changes. No god would allow a true end-time prophet to proclaim such misleading "truths" for so many decades.
So, the guilt trip should be on him for lying to people in the name of Jehovah.

Welcome Dexter and absolutely great you can finally post on this forum. I started studying when I was 28, been a jw for 20 years... F¥#K, the most productive years of my life that YOU still have in front of you. Sorry about your sister and the effect it had on you. Will the Borg ever realize what harm disfellowshipping does to people, let alone children? Looking forward to your story of the incident that led to ttatt.
