More speculation on Kingdom Hall closers and money grabbing?

There continues to be more and more rumors of more halls being sold off some even taking the first offer. The Borg trying to get thier bond money back from the court in San Diego asap and there's been elders meetings about this consolidation. My questions is why after selling off all this real estate in New York for over a billion dollars are they still acting like thier broke? Doesn't add up, what to you guys think is really going on?

I obviously can't read the minds of the lawyers and perverts that run the Borg. On the surface, it looks like 'realising assets'. In other words they are streamlining and gathering in the money. They are fast becoming an E-religion perhaps?

In any case let's hope the watchtower leaders suffer very badly and we get to see it. (Huh! Some hope).

Everytime I turn around I hear thing like this. At the annual meeting all they did was release a new song book. And then they announced pretty much strongly at the meeting if you want one to download it. When I go back to the literature counter, well, there really isn't anything there. I asked the lit servant for a Trinity brochure cause I wanted to looked up the misquotes in it and he searched around for it and I noticed that there's hardly any literature in the place.

If you think about, when's the last time you can ever remember the offer of the month being a book? It's been a long time. Like years.

It's like any business.

It's been running a deficit for years, although they are asset-rich, their income has plonked.

Time to right the ship with professional bean-counters, instead of seniority-hacks.

(Just for comparison in Canada - have you heard of The Bay, Eatons, and Sears? The same product at each store would be priced at $19, $18, and $17. respectively. The Bay has been trying to adapt, Eatons has disappeared, and Sears is, well, Sears is, for now.)

The 21st-century and the internet have brought competition to the after-life business.

Forever the optimist, I'm still convinced that the org has a very great need, not greed - a consequence of their bad investments coming home to roost in 2008. (I'm open to 'new lights' being produced to show otherwise)

Nothing else justifies the draconian panic measures which the org has enforced in the past few years - the key word being 'panic'!

We really need another Raymond Franz to reveal the truth about this topic.

I agree Searcher, there was definitely panic surrounding Lett's public begging in 2015 and Herd's cutbacks announcement. The closure of old and well established branches has also been rapid and not very orderly.

But then, maybe they've done enough now to deal with their money problems.

I would think their financial people are looking at all the KIngdum Hall and seeing which ones are in the red and if they are sitting on a piece of valuable property it does make financial sense to sell off that asset. The only lousy thing is the rank and file dubs paid for those Kingdum Halls.

It's hard to know anything for a certainty. How could we? The Org is not transparent by design. We do know that they create the illusion that they have no idea where their next dollar will come from, presenting themselves as wandering prophets who are being fed by the ravens at Jeehoober's discretion.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The WTBTS is a well-oiled business. That being said, think of a savvy gambler...

You walk into the Casino with $500.00, your spending limit. You double it at the Poker table. Now you take your original $500.00 and put it in your pocket, only playing with the money you've won for the rest of the night. That's how you keep getting rich.

Now imagine that your weekly Poker allowance comes from honest people who give you money, because they think you are poor.....
