Hee Haw was not clean

so, my son bought me a device that allows me to look up and watch anything i want.

i remember years ago , i enjoyed the television show hee haw on sunday evenings.

i naively thought it was wholesome family entertainment.

Difficulty fading out

this is my first post on here so i apologize that it is like an essay!.

my husband and i are currently 'fading out' of the truth.

we stopped preaching in may 2016 and limited meeting attendance in january 2017 and stopped completely in june 2017. my main reason for this was my whole life i have been doing things to please others, even getting baptized to please my mum.

Hi Emily, welcome to this forum of freedom...this is the place where you can read about so many faders and how they've experienced their journey and the challenges involved. I'm a succesfull fader myself and the ARC of 2015 was the final blow for me and my family including kids. So late 2015, my fade went fast (first stopped attending meetings, then reduced field service to 0 in a few months) but as a resigned elder I knew the traps of the Borg and the personality and mindset of my former fellow-elders and all those over-zealous JW's that would love to be eyes and ears for the WT police. Therefore I chose NOT to celebrate X-mas so close after we started fading. A stricktly personal decision, but I never regret that one. We were too busy with overcoming our cognitive dissonance anyway and one elder was still visiting our house every few months in order to check our spiritual well-being (which was absolutely fine by the way since we had identified a false prophet ). Now we're out for two years, no more elder visits, congregation seems to accept our position and we can actually do whatever we want (birthdays, X-mas, New Year etc.) We still have to be cautious regarding who we talk to and I still avoid to have JW friends on Facebook but the benefits are that I still have access to JW's with open minds and can freely talk about what's going on in WT's rabbit hole. Thank god we had no other family in the Borg, otherwise things might have been much more complex or even impossible without collateral damage, I realize that.

Again, good luck with your journey to freedom, just type in "fade" in the forum's search-box and it might be a portal to exactly that "accurate knowledge" that you'll need in your current situation. This forum has all the up-to-date info, here you can ask questions, advice, find comfort, vent your frustrations and even have some really good laughs. It certainly has become my daily manna so, I hope you'll stay and keep us informed if possible!

with hundreds, if not thousands, of letters being sent in to the society asking for answers re their child abuse policies and poorly supported doctrines, what does the watchtower decide is the most important question from readers to answer this month?

why is paul always depicted as bald apparently!.

So my PIMO Younger Brother Tried To Kill Himself Today

we all know that this cult will drive those trying to leave to desperate measures, and today by brother was very nearly one of those statistics.

he slashed his thigh with a kitchen knife and was bleeding out until he called the police.. i got a call on my way home from work from a police officer, coincidentally it was one of my old friends from school who's now a cop.

he told me my brother is in hospital after an attempted suicide and has lost some blood but will be ok. but i should get to the hospital as he's asking for me.

Terrible to hear this pale, I feel so sorry for you and this fu&%ed up situation that could have cost your brother's life. Very glad he's alive man! Hopefully he will find a better way to cope with everything soon.

I agree with sail away that this is not your fault, and of course it isn't, but how dare they to put you in such a position! WT not dividing families??? My ass!!

Stop harassing jws

we want people to learn ttatt.

we have numerous resources online to draw jws in so that they will wake up.

however, i've noted some radical methods that have been used by fellow exjws, and quite frankly, this must stop.

Pomo, I haven't read all the comments, so excuse me if things already have been said, but...

Yes, there are limits to activism but let's not forget the WT's infamous history of aggressive preaching methods and virulent attacks on big business, politics and religion (particularly the Catholic Church, Rutherford anyone?). And what about targeting family of deceased persons by reading obituaries and writing letters to them (probably complete strangers most of the time) that promise a ressurection?

Also, there ARE people waking up because of what they hear from the mouth of "apostates" infiltrating their meetings! Under "I'm Worldly"s video #74 I found this comment from YouTube user Truth Seeker who said to JWPrimetime (who was the guy who toasted at -the generation of 1914- at the memorial 2016):

That was so offensive!!!! Especially the "God is gay" part lol... say what!? I realize that part was just a dare... lol... but yeah... I could not get that out of my mind then suddenly it hit me... You were right.... the generation of 1914 is DEAD... Now I am awake, free and happier than ever! [bold mine].

I'm really happy reading this! This method WAS effective in his case!

JW's have always used different methods in order to make their preaching more effective...they endured persecution because they believed it was "truth". When it's NOT the truth, it also takes different methods to break through the cult's self deception/cognitive dissonance and expose the WT's brainwashing tactics and dark and hidden secrets.
