  seeing a trinity thread.. can a jw apologist explain what (not who) is jesus?.

  prior to the creation of everything 13.7 billion years ago (draw close book), jehovah created jesus as his firstborn, his only-begotten.. there was nothing else - no stars, no dust, no matter - just jehovah - and then, just jehovah and jesus.

  so, what was jesus?.

  Random and unsafe conditions

  one of the things that helped me in my awakening and fading process from jwland was something that i call "random failures".

  let me explain it.

  Well, I think in hypothetical jw paradise there will be...

  Perfect tools/equipment which will last longer but also will be replaced in time

  Perfect skills

  Perfect safety measures

  Perfect anticipation to stress factors

  Furthermore, for the 0,000001% that might slip through, Jesus and the 144,000 will surely keep an eye on the tools of the earthly class with perfect x-ray vision.

  In the ultra ultra ultra rare case a drop of blood might be spilled anyway, people will have a perfect regeneration and immune system and as an added bonus there will absolutely be fantastic super herbs and last but not least, supernatural divine healers.

  I think Jah will finally have some more time for himself after 6,000 y of rebellion and stress factors...

  so after three years of fading, my elder father has never really asked why we have chosen to stop attending.. today, after a mixed discussion, he starts talking about the "solution to all the world problems" and says "i don't know what you now believe, but i believe gods kingdom will fix everything" i let the comment go, and didn't respond.. then he goes on about the video "remember the wife of lot" because he just came from the convention last weekend.

  "don't get caught up in this system...blah blah".

  i couldn't help myself, and said one thing "dad, that video failed to show the next chapter of that account.

  Sorry to read that. Two things however, from a JW point of view, talking about the Bible doen't make someone outside the Borg righteous/valid in his/her argument... didn't satan quote the OT against Jesus?

  Second, Lot wasn't under the Mosaic Law and getting drunk and having sex with his two daughters may have been a case of "the mind is willing but the flesh is weak" in Jehovah's eyes. I know, I know... just saying... ask king David how that stuff works...

  As long as JW's consider the GB to be GoD (Guardians of Doctrine) everyone else can be considered wrong regarding their own interpretation. Your father needs to see through the indoctrination first...I hope that will happen one day.

  Huge article(s) in Dutch media on JW child abuse

  so today the well-respected and serious newspaper trouw.nl came with child abuse within the jw as their topmost frontpage article.. the articles are well researched and aim primarily at the dutch jw situation.. afaik at least on member of this forum assisted the newspaper with the articles.

  after yesterday's newspaper articles about how jw (mis)handle child abuse cases, today the newspaper reports that both members of the national house of representatives, and the national commissioner on human trafficking and sexual violence against children are petitioning the minister / secretary of state to launch an investigation into jw and other closed religious communities.. the newspaper article (in dutch).

  the newspaper also published the personal story of a victim, and how he fought for justice within jw to no avail.this story is from my home town (just few years before i move there), different congregation in the same hall..

  Sounds good. Actually scratch that. I have no idea what the heck they are saying in the radio. Not one word. Could you give us the gist of it?

  Well never a jw, I know Dutch must sound horrible to some, but at least you should have reckognised the word ''Jehovah´s'' as part of ''Jehovah´s getuigen'', which means.... tadaah... Jehovah´s witnesses.

  Now let me give you the gist of it...

  The national commisioner was asked about the situation around JW child abuse and the lady correctly stated that the problem is everywhere, not only with JW´s but also within the RCC, youth institutions and sports clubs. She pointed out that in the case of JW´s, the problem lies with the two-witnesses rule as applied by the jw church who both investigates and judges. That conflicts with the rights of any child and that problem has to be dealt with.

  So, nothing we did not already know, but hey, now finally the general public is informed on a scale we were hoping for! They might not visit ''apostate'' sites, but they do read papers and listen to the radio!

  To Fade or Disassociate

  hello to all, so i did want to talk about this topic because i think it is very important to me.

  i have a grandfather who faded several decades ago.

  he occasionally attends an assembly and the memorial but no longer attends meetings or goes on field service.

  I wasn't even familiar with the term fade until after I disassociated. Unfortunately, I was naive and still playing by the borg's rules, so I didn't realize that was an option. Plus I wanted to stop the harassment from the elders, who kept trying to meet with me.

  Novice, I know you´re relatively new on this forum and I feel sorry for your late ''discovery'' of what a fade is and what the elders did to you. There is so much to learn from this forum.

  I had the advantage that my fade in late 2015 went super fast for me and my whole family. After asking questions about 1914 and the problems with child abuse I noticed the refusal of the elders to acknowledge the facts and humble themselves and I only visited 2 public talks and went to 0 hours in 3 months. The last visit of a friendly elder must have been the summer of 2016 so I hadn´t much to complain about. I know that not everyone is lucky, I´ve read about so many different situations on this forum. It all depends on the circumstances. I agree with dubstepped that it can also be a principal decision as well...out is out so to say, but hey, so far my fade feels good but I also know that things can suddenly change. I sometimes dream of a YouTube career lol.
