1. attend a charity christmas party which my wife (active jw) helps to organise each year 😀.
2. buy a very small christmas tree with lights for the living room (which can easily be hidden away if jw friends are coming up).
3. buy some nice presents for my family.
Going to work as I do every Christmas and Christmas Eve and then sleep and wake up the next day and work again?
Its kinda weird not celebrating holidays when you are not even a JW because you have no family to celebrate it with or friends.
But ehh, I get to save my money when the car breaks down! 😊
lasting memory of the latter period of time in the organisation:.
i had a route call with the magazines whom i'd called on for a number of years.
eventually when i become a parent i became consumed with negativity, doubt (blood issue) & depression.
Lol exactly. And while I myself was keeping up with all my teachings I was never allowed to progress and consistently told how bad I was doing by all the JWs. So I burned out because doing the same thing over and over again (like the Jdubs say to do) and expecting a different result is insanity!
Not only that, but this was one of the first things I posted about on this website and I was screwtenized for blaming the religion. Pretty ironic since there are plenty Apostates on here.
Nonetheless good for you man figuring it out. Know you aren't alone and we just gotta keep peace in our mind as our focus, not constant worries.

first question: do you believe that god is love?
third question: do you think a god of love would choose to destroy me for not doing something i cannot do (be a jw) because i am not convinced rather than convince me beyond doubt?

This is what I said to my father: If I have changed my life around to conform to the organization and its requirements, then why is it that I then become so depressed and even suicidal? Even when I beg Jehovah to protect me because I am working in harmony with my prayers. Not only that, but I have serious disagreements with the organization while studying, and aren't we supposed to make the truth our own and keep testing to see if we are in the truth?
His response: of course it makes perfect sense! Satan wants to mislead you away from the organization.

We are in similar situations home slice and I don't know what it requires to put it through our parents' heads...
as i have revealed in other threads my mother and i havent talked in over 2 years.
she has been keeping her distance, therefore staying loyal to jehovah.

First and foremost Adolf Hitler was faked in history to be the bad guy, just as was the Austria-Hungarian Empire during WWI.
Second, trump may be a slave-driver, but is by no means a war monger like the Clintons.
So sure we might have a revolution and the U.S. becomes no more, it's inevitable and not the end of the world. Study history, oh wait historians aren't reliable according to the dubs.

hi there i don't watch much of the propaganda on jw.org anymore but i did catch the november broadcast.. i think these guys are either evil or controlled by someone who is incredibly skilled at mind control.. firstly, they establish their authority by saying "everything" else is a lie - you can't trust media or anyone.
"there is no inspiration today.." but they somehow have the direct connection with god - yuck.. then, they proceed with that disgusting "shunning" drama - but now it is not called shunning, (around 24 mins) the mother said... "if we were to stand between levi and the discipline he needs we would in affect be blocking an expression of jehovah's love from reaching him...".
i am so angry at this, what a load.
Can't trust the 'mainstream' media that is all owned by less than 10 corporations to further their New World agenda to conquer the world and use the banks to enslave humanity, then yes.
But their are outlets i.e. Drudge Report, Infowars, What Realky Happened, etc. with their own agendas obviously, but by far much more trust-worthy and actually reliable.
continual rain, at long last, has ended another typically hot and dry summer, one that gave every appearance of extending far into a protracted indian summer.
yet, october was unusually wet.
this thanksgiving week promises daily rain.. an unforeseen sadness is creeping gradually, insidiously into the fabric of my life.
Man I love the rain! I love the snow. I love the doom and gloom. Makes me feel so good knowing I am not missing anything outside for another summer. Huzzah to the season!!!

Elders are the most arrogant mofos in the congregation. They 'literally' believe they are kings on this earth. Not joking by any means whatsoever. They are God, worship them muhahaha. Now I am joking.
The overseers are even worse. And I can only imagine Bethelites and the GB, oh my days. Never had the opportunity and glad as hell I didn't. 😏
while reading the magazines the other day it occurred to me that jws never really had a very good answer to that question.
because it was aimed at young people and it said something along the lines, "if you believe in god you have a purpose, but if you don't believe in god your life has no purpose or meaning".
i think that is a faulty analysis of the situation.
Basically to suffer suffer suffer to your death and be told your whole life you are a terrible and worthless person whom would be better off dead.
Morbid? I know. Reality? Fact.
I am a realist so suck it. 😄
i have always been told as a jw that trinitarians, particularly baptists, are just the worst people to argue with out in service.
i have always been told it was the world with a veil over their eyes.
the hypocritical irony is that so many witnesses are completely stubborn and willing to believe in magic before they believe anything against their dogma.
Arguing with anyone about religion in my experience has always led to the boot out the door, including JWs. Soooo yea, that's what I got for you m8. 😅
