Will The Watchtower Ever Give Up Mandatory Shunning Of DF'd Members?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini think the wt will never give up this practice unless forced to by the courts, even if they are financially failing terribly they will keep it because the moment they do get rid of it the whole thing will collapse even faster and they know it(or afraid of it happening).
they have painted themselves into a corner of financial ruin.

Capitol. @never a jw you should really think about talking to someone about your self harm over spelling errors:).
Actually it's much more complex. Jerusalem is one of the oldest cities in the world and has changed hands many times over 5000 years. Jewish settlers came in and pushed out Muslim Arabs in the 1920's I believe. Somewhat similar to the founding fathers of USA pushed out Native Americans to only portions of land. In Simons example the Native Americans could try to lay claim DC as their capital (sort of see below) and that would never happen.
Both Muslims, Jews & Christians have religious ties to Jerusalem. There isn't a simple solution. Some don't like the Native American comparison but it's really the closest one can come. Basically it's a minority/majority switch back in forth of population/rule over 5000 years until about 1920's then Jews became more dominate and laid claim.
I wish it were simple but it's not. I hope they can find peace there either by a two-state or a one state solution where Palestinians can move freely as they wish along with their jewish neighbors peacefully.
Peace is always good. I don't condone the violence but I acknowledge that frustration boils much like some of the exjw's burst into KH's, picket assemblies or yell at cart witnesses. I know I know those are not violent but they are both born out of frustration of not being listened to and that is what I'm talking about.
As for Trump recognizing Jerusalem thats really not a new stand as I mentioned congress passed that in 1995. It just hit 6 month waivers in order to help facility peace between Palestinians and Israel which I think everyone feels would be great everyone has tried including Trump admin, but history shows why it's not so easy:(

The Problems of Child Abuse
by Coded Logic ini think it's absolutely disgusting how the organisation has treated childhood victims of pedophilia and rape.
i think their "standards" of requiring two witnesses for belief is absurd.
i think how they try and quietly brush things under the rug in the back rooms of kingdom halls is completely despicable.

To some their politics is their religion and they will blindly follow their party. This is on both sides.
I can thank the WBTS for teaching me that I should read all sides of the issue instead of just one side:)

Another congregation bites the dust
by NikL inwent to the meeting last night with my believing wife.
the co was visiting and delivered a really cult-ish talk on loyalty but that's another story.. they made the announcement that starting january 1st they were going to have only 3 congregations in this town instead of 4.. they are dissolving one and growing the territories of the remaining 3. the reason given is that many of the elders are getting up there in age and can't do what they used to do.
basically not enough elders and ministerial servants...or even men reaching out for that matter.

I ran across a lawsuit (elders vs insurance) where insurance refused to pay up for a judgement against the elders in a sexual molestation case. I'm trying to find it now.
That brings the question to any ex elders...did you have liability insurance that covered your "counseling" or is this a general KH insurance policy?

In 1995 I believe it passed in Congress to recognize Jerusalem as capitol.
However every president since (Including Trump) has signed a waiver to delay moving embassy in the interest of finding peace in the middle east. Trump has decided to end that, it will take some time to even find property etc so I'm thinking this won't be any time real soon.
Tor don't ever be sorry for asking questions that's what got some of us stuck in as JW's in the first place a fear of questions and the retribution we received when asking them. Some people are just very passionate we'll say especially when it comes to religion and politics:)

Attendents sit at the best seats
by Quarterback inwell it's been awhile since i got angry and wanted to post on here again.
last week's watchtower about the subject of love had something to say about the hard working attendants.
it seems that they are choosing to sit in the best seats at the convention.

Always bugged me that me in a dress and small babies I had to climb over my husband who sat on the end seat to take the children out sometimes several times a meeting.
It seemed to me he in PANTS and with much longer legs could easier get up and down and over me:)

I think the worse is that one can be df'd in one cong for one thing but it's perfectly fine in another. THAT has always been my biggest issue, this is not the truth when "policies" are subject to different humans feelings.

JW Lawyers and Heavyweights lying in court.
by freddo inin a recent canadian case i've seen (on line video in threads on here) the wt lawyer says that disfellowshipping isn't actual shunning but only a cutting off of spiritual association.
but what case is it and is there a transcript available on line?.
any other "good" examples from the point of view that it proves wt speak out of both sides of their mouths?.

Here's my issue...
I reg pioneered off and on and I always talked to my df family members and was super open to the elders that I would always talk to them because they were family and everything non spiritual was family business. I was never removed from my position nor counseled about it because I didn't 1. condone the behavior 2. pray with them or 3. discuss spiritual things which was the big no no 3.
So I think they have some freedom of speech because although they preach one thing they don't really df anyone for talking to their df family members.
Having said all this I've been out for 10+years, things could have changed but then again I would be skeptical because everything always seems to be regional/congregational i.e sisters must wear pantyhose, brothers must not wear colored shirts, etc that was different from place to place.

So my PIMO Younger Brother Tried To Kill Himself Today
by pale.emperor inwe all know that this cult will drive those trying to leave to desperate measures, and today by brother was very nearly one of those statistics.
he slashed his thigh with a kitchen knife and was bleeding out until he called the police.. i got a call on my way home from work from a police officer, coincidentally it was one of my old friends from school who's now a cop.
he told me my brother is in hospital after an attempted suicide and has lost some blood but will be ok. but i should get to the hospital as he's asking for me.

I do believe love always wins, one can't personally go wrong showing love if only when being introspective:)
Perhaps family won't see it but I can sleep at night knowing I've done nothing except show love to my believing family. Shunning is on their side not mine.
I text them constantly letting them know I'm thinking about them, telling a joke, and telling them about the amazing things going on in my life. If they don't respond I still win when I lay my head down to sleep knowing I've not cut off my family for their beliefs.
Should they block me, my love for them will never fade as I know they are blinded as I once was. I planted a seed, perhaps one day it will grow:).
